CHAPTER FORTY-ONE - THE ABSOLUTE LIMIT SWITCH

"ALL RIGHT!" Karasuno cheered as they were in the lead with 17 points. "A break!" Koganei exclaimed.

"They reversed it!" Hyuga cheered.

"Did their setter meant to give that to the shrimp?" Taiga wondered out loud. "Or did he make a mistake?"

"Kagami, don't tell your older brother I said this but volleyball is actually quite interesting! It's got me on the edge of my seat!" Hyuga exclaimed.

"Right?" Taiga agreed with his senior. "Makes me wonder why I never came to Nii-san's games before."

"Shut up." Kageyama commented as Hinata was cheering for his point.

"Hey, that was awesome!" Tadahiro complimented. "That was right below! Did you aim for that?!"

"Hinata was close to the net, so I made the set close, too." Kageyama responded. "I'm glad it worked out."

"All right! Let's get one more!" Daichi said as Karasuno was huddled up.

"Right!"

"We're going to win!"

Tsukishima was up to serve. "Tsukishima, nice serve!" Daichi encouraged as Tsukishima threw the ball up.

"Got it!" Watari announced, receiving the ball.

Oikawa tossed to Iwaizumi as he scored a point for Aoba Johsai as Kageyama was late on blocking him. Oikawa and Iwaizumi high fived each other.

Kageyama tossed to Tadahiro who spiked it and scored a point for Karasuno in which they cheered. But Aoba Johsai got the point back.

TWEEEET!

Yahaba was subbing in for Kindaichi. Yahaba was up to serve as he sends the ball over. "Asahi!" Daichi shouted as Asahi received the ball.

"Sorry!" Asahi apologized as Kageyama covered for him, getting into setting position.

"Kagami-san!" He shouted, tossing the ball to Tadahiro.

"Two blockers!"

Tadahiro jumped up and spiked the ball past the blockers, but Oikawa managed to dive down to receive it.

"Yahaba!"

"Right! Kyotani!"

Yahaba tossed towards Kyotani who jumped up and spiked the ball as he gained a point for Aoba Johsai. Tadahiro looked at the score.

"A break. If they get into the 20s first, it's going to be tough for Karasuno." Izuki commented.

"Hiro-nii, you better not let them get ahead! Or I'll kick your ass!" Taiga exclaimed.

Yahaba served again as Nishinoya received it on time. "Nice receive!" Kageyama complimented before getting into setting position once more.

Hinata ran over as he jumped up. Hinata spiked the ball low and managed to get a point for Karasuno as Yahaba was late on receiving.

"You little brat..." Oikawa said in irritation.

TWEEEET!

Kindaichi was subbing in for Yahaba once more. "Hiro, nice serve!" Daichi encouraged his boyfriend.

Tadahiro threw the ball up in the air as he did his jump serve. "Got it!" Watari called out, receiving the ball.

"They're coming on the right! Right!"

"Number 16! Number 16!"

"Stop them!"

Asahi spiked the ball down but it was saved on time by Iwaizumi. The game continued on, making the audience intrigued.

Aoba Johsai was able to get the point as Kageyama was late on receiving it. "Damn it!" He said.

"Shit! Now Aoba Johsai is in the 20s!" Tadahiro exclaimed in his head. He found himself in the dark space once more, the unknown gatekeeper was not moving a muscle.

"Bastard! Karasuno needs to enter the true Zone! Let me through!"

"They got there first." Hygua stated as everyone on Seirin looked worried.

"We don't have to panic. It's still just one point." Daichi reassured his team.

Kyotani was up to serve next. The whistle blew as Kyotani did his jump serve and Daichi managed to save it. Kageyama tossed the ball as Asahi jumped up but Tadahiro was the one who spiked it down and earned a point for Karasuno.

TWEEEET!

Tadahiro looked over to see that Yamaguchi was being subbed in for Hinata. "We're counting on you, Yama-chan!" Tadahiro said.

"Stay calm!" Asahi told him.

"Give it your all!" Daichi added on.

"Right!" Yamaguchi said.

"Yamaguchi." Tsukishima spoke up as he handed him the ball. "Get a nice serve in."

Tsukishima tossed the ball to Yamaguchi, who caught it. "Yeah." He agreed. Both teams were currently tied with 20 points.

TWEEEET!

Yamaguchi did his jump floater as Kyotani tried to receive it, but it went right over his head. But Iwaizumi managed to receive it right on time.

"Watari, get the last!" Iwaizumi shouted.

"Right!" Watari agreed as he received the ball over.

"Chance ball!"

Tadahiro received the ball on time as Daichi, Tsukishima, Asahi, and Tadahiro started running forward to do their synchronized attack.

Asahi jumped up in the air and spiked the ball as Oikawa and Matsukawa jumped up to block him. Iwaizumi received it, making Asahi get taken aback.

"Makki!" Oikawa called out, tossing the ball towards Hanamaki. He ended up doing a feint and got the point as Kageyama was too late on receiving it.

TWEEEEET!

Hinata was subbed back in for Yamaguchi. The game continued on as both teams were not giving up. Tadahiro looked at the scoreboard.

Oikawa was up to serve again. He did his jump serve and before anyone had time to react, it was already on the court. It was silent for a moment as the referee declared that it was in.

The score was now 22 to 24 with Aoba Johsai in the lead as Karasuno gathered around their coach. "It's that again..." Ukai began.

"We're just gonna have to pick it up." Daichi said.

"Yeah."

"Switch it up! Switch it up!"

Sugawara patted Daichi, Tadahiro, and Asahi's backs. "If we manage to touch it, we can make it work! We're not gonna lose!" Sugawara declared.

"Yeah!" His fellow third-years agreed.

TWEEEEEET!

Karasuno rushed back onto the court as Oikawa did his jump serve. Daichi managed to receieve it as he fell over from the impact and the crowd cheered.

Tsukishima, Tadahiro, and Asahi rushed forward as Asahi spiked the ball past the two blockers and scoring a point for Karasuno.

"All right!"

"They cut off Oikawa serves!" Izuki exclaimed.

"Aoba Johsai's still at match point though." Hyuga informed. "The wall for this next point is high."

Tsukishima had switched out with Sugawara as he whispered something to Kageyama, who was nodding at his words.

"Suga-chan, give us a nice serve!" Tadahiro encouraged his friend.

"Yeah!"

Kageyama looked over to Hinata to see that he was concentrated. "How is he able to concentrate so intensely towards the end of the match? Though it's just his concentration!" He thought.

"Huh? Why are you picking a fight with Hina-chan?!" Tadahiro asked.

Sugawara served the ball as Iwaizumi was able to receive it. Kindaichi jumped up but Hideaki noticed that Kyotani was right behind him. Hinata seemed to have notice as well.

Kageyama jumped up to block him as Hinata joined in on his block in which they successfully blocked Kyotani and gained a point.

Kageyama looked at Hinata with irritation as he had rammed into his side. "I feel bad, really!" Hinata exclaimed.

"Great job taking that, Kage-chan." Tadahiro added on.

Both teams were now at match point. Sugawara was up to serve once more as Iwaizumi barely received it. Oikawa tossed to Hanamaki who spiked the ball.

"Front, front, front!"

"I'll get it!" Sugawara shouted out, receiving the ball before it hit the court.

All of them got ready to do another synchronized attack. "Bring it to me!" Hinata shouted. However, instead of tossing to Hinata, Kageyama did a dump, leaving his teammates in shock.

Oikawa rushed forward to save it, but was too late as he looked up at Kageyama with irritation, reminding him of all his past memories in junior high.

"Kageyama!"

TWEEEET!

"Make sure you aim for the target!" Asahi informed.

"I know. If I half-ass it, it'll get hit immediately." Sugawara said.

"Make sure you at least touch it when you block." Tadahiro informed.

"Yeah!"

TWEEEET!

"Let's get this one!" Daichi exclaimed.

"Yeah!"

Sugawara hits the ball as Iwaizumi rushed forward to save it. Oikawa tossed to Kyotani as Tadahiro received it with his face.

Sugawara and Kageyama switched places as everyone rushed forward. Sugawara tossed to Hinata as he scored a point.

"It's off!"

"We're counting on you, Oikawa!"

Oikawa raced towards the ball as Hideaki spotted Oikawa pointing to Iwaizumi. He did a high toss to Iwaizumi as he crashed into some chairs and rushed forward.

Iwaizumi was able to score a point as Kageyama was late on blocking him. Mizoguchi cheered. However, his celebration was short as Asahi received the ball.

"Get the last!" Asahi shouted.

"Connect!"

"Chance ball!"

"We have to win... I don't want to lose anymore. I don't want my time on the court to end here. I'm sick of it! I'm sick of seeing my friends cry behind each others backs! Which is why... " Tadahiro thought as a memory of Daichi wanting to call it quits after the Inter-High went through his mind.

He raced towards the ball, before turning around. "I won't let you get that chance!"

Tadahiro spiked the ball from the back as Watari saved it, but it hit the net. Kyotani covered for him as he sent the ball back into the air.

"Hit it, Kageyama!" Daichi shouted.

Kageyama hits the ball as it rebounds off of Sugawara. Hinata then backed up a bit. "Give it to me!" He exclaimed, rushing forward. Kageyama and Hinata did their quick as Kageyama placed his hands in the air.

Hinata jumped up as Iwaizumi, Kindaichi, and Kyotani jumped up to block him. Kageyama tosses the ball to Hinata as he spiked it. The ball rebounded off of Oikawa's hand.

BAM!

The ball had touched the ground.

It was silent for a moment as Hinata clenched his fist.

TWEEEET!

"All..."

"...right!"

Karasuno had defeated Aoba Johsai as both Oikawa and Kageyama looked at each other.
