CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE - PERSPECTIVE

KARASUNO WAS CURRENTLY HAVING A practice match with Tokonami, with Tokonami in the lead by ten points. Yamaguchi let out a breath.

"It doesn't matter if this is our usual gymnasium, Shinzen's gymnasium, or Tokyo Stadium. You need to train your body to be able to do the same thing at any location."

TWEEEEET!

Yamaguchi ran forward as he did his jump float serve. However, it ended up being an out in which Yamaguchi groaned in irritation.

The whistle blew once more as Asahi jumped up and did his jump serve. The ball was received. "Sorry!" Asahi apologized.

"Got it!" Sugawara reassured as he saved the ball.

"Nishinoya!" Daichi called out as Nishinoya jumped up. He tosses the ball towards Asahi who spikes the ball, but ended up getting blocked.

"Sorry!" Nishinoya said.

"Don't worry about it!" Tanaka told him.

Tanaka was up to serve as he bounced the ball up and down before looking up with concentrated eyes. He throws the ball in the air before jumping up to spike. However, the ball ends up hitting the net, shocking Tadahiro and Asahi who were nearby. Tanaka screamed in irritation.

The final set ended, with Tokonami coming out victorious.

"Hell yeah! We managed to win a set against Karasuno!"

"We can go to nationals now!"

"One lap of diving drills!" Daichi called out.

"Right!"

"Wait, they actually have penalties?"

"Oh, we just do this all the time." Daichi answered as everyone began their diving drills.

"After getting so used to losing at the Tokyo training camp, I get the urge to do these even when we win..." Asahi commented.

"Right?" Sugawara agreed.

"Once you've done them so many times, they're buried into your body..." Tadahiro added on.

"Yeah, we sorta messed up the serves this set." Ukai laughed before turning to Tokonami's coach, having an intense aura around him. "May we play another set?!"

"O-Of course."

"How's training for nationals going for you, Nii-san?" Taiga asked over the laptop screen.

"It's tiring, but going well." Tadahiro responded.

"By the way, did your junior actually crash a training camp?" Taiga questioned, causing the older Kagami to groan.

"He did." Tadahiro answered. "Dai-chan gave him a whole lecture when he came back."

"And you say him and I are the same age? He's a moron."

"Takes one to know one, huh?"

"That was uncalled for, Nii-san."

"But it's like I told Dai-chan, I get where Hina-chan is coming from." Tadahiro continued on. "Before I opened the second door, I wanted to get stronger. I'm sure you've had those moments, as well."

Taiga nods in confirmation. "Do you think you'll meet a lot of strong players at nationals?" He then asked.

"Obviously. Nationals is a place where the best of the best play. We'll be against new players and our abilities will be tested." Tadahiro replied. "Since nationals are in Tokyo, are you planning on stopping by to watch?"

"Perhaps I'll stop by to watch a match. Keep me posted." Taiga replied.

The two brothers end the call as Tadahiro looks up at his ceiling, before getting up and walking over to his calendar.

He flips through it before finally stopping at a certain month. His eyes stopped at date that he had labeled in red pen and circled as well.

'Graduation day.'

Tadahiro then glanced at another date he had in red and circled.

'First Black Jackals practice.'

The red head let out a long sigh, flipping his calendar back to December. He picked up a picture he had of him, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, and Kiyoko. Tadahiro was in between Daichi and Asahi with a bored look plastered on his face and his arms crossed.

Daichi was facing away from the picture. He was scolding a first-year Nishinoya and Tanaka off camera.

Tadahiro let out a chuckle at the memory before setting the photo frame back down on his desk.

"I know Dai-chan and I will keep in contact after graduation... but who's to say I lose contact with Suga-chan, Asa-chan, and Kiyo-chan?" Tadahiro asked himself.

"As well as the second-years and first-years, too... Well, I guess visiting is always an option."

If there was one thing Tadahiro hated the most about being a third-year, was that he had to leave his juniors behind, the very people who he watched grow.

A/N: This chapter was just a huge reflect about Tadahiro and his thoughts about graduation and moving on. Thanks for reading!
