CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR - LOST

"WE HAVE ONE MONTH UNTIL the Spring Tournament. I want you to use this time to improve on the one and only powerful skill in volleyball... The serve." Ukai was saying as the team had gathered around him. "I say this all the time, but don't just do your reps to get them over with. You need to always visualize that you're in an actual game."

"Right!"

"All right! Make sure I can hear you, newbies!"

The remaining members then began their practice.

It was the next day at school, as Tadahiro was looking at Daichi. "Hiro... How long are you going to give me that look?" Daichi questioned as the red head was sulking.

"You almost made Hina-chan piss his pants." Tadahiro responded, remembering how Daichi had shouted at Hinata in the clubroom.

"How many times do I have to tell you... You need to always considering how your actions will affect others!" Daichi exclaimed.

"Dai-chan, calm down!" Tadahiro told him.

"Good going, Hinata!" Sugawara praised.

"Suga!" Daichi shouted at him.

"Suga-chan, now isn't the best time you should be praising him." Tadahiro sweat dropped.

"Whoops, my bad." Sugawara saluted.

Tadahiro then sighed. "I just think you could've been nicer." He admitted.

"Huh?"

"I understand Hina-chan's determination to want to get stronger, because I've been there." Tadahiro admitted. "Kage-chan is good enough to play with the best of the best, Tsu-chan is one of the best first-years in the prefecture, and Yama-chan has his jump float serves. I think he feels left out."

"Rolling... Thunder... Double!" Nishinoya exclaimed as he rolled onto the ground, crashing into Tanaka in the process.

"Tanaka just got run over by Nishinoya!" Sugawara shouted.

"Nishinoya! Tanaka!" Daichi shouted in anger.

"Wait, why am I getting yelled at?!" Tanaka questioned.

"The hell are you two doing?!"

"My bad!"

"Noya-san ran into me!"

"You need to take this more seriously!"

"Hey." Ukai's voice was heard. "We'll be doing serves next."

"Right!"

All of them began doing their serves.

"Bring it!"

"Nice serve!"

"Out!"

"Don't worry about it, Asahi-san!"

Tadahiro jumped up as he did his jump serve, sending it to the other side of the court.

Later after practice, Tadahiro and Daichi were at a fast food joint. "I'm always surprised at how many burgers you can eat in one sitting, Hiro." Daichi commented.

"You're so mean, Dai-chan." Tadahiro huffed out. "Say, Dai-chan. You know, after nationals are over... Graduation will come sooner than expected. What are your plans?"

"I'm planning on entering the police force." Daichi replied. "What about you?"

"Actually, I've recently signed with the MSBY Black Jackals to play for them." Tadahiro revealed.

"They're in the V. League, right? Division 1?"

"Yeah."

"Huh... To be quiet honest, I thought you would've gone straight for the National Team."

"I need experience playing for a professional volleyball team before I sign for Japan's National Team." Tadahiro explained. "You'll come to my matches, right, Dai-chan?"

"Of course." Daichi replied. Tadahiro then tackled Daichi in a hug.

"Yahoo! I love you, Dai-chan!"

"Yeah, yeah. Now get off of me, you freakin' giant!"
