Chapter Three
Aidan's P.O.V.
Something didn't sit well with me after Serena zoned out at the dinner table. I didn't want to bring it up at the restaurant for fear of embarrassing her. But for the rest of the night, she acted like herself, so I thought maybe she really did zone out, so I pushed it away, swearing to myself that I would only ask her about it if it happened again. "Mmm! This cake is so delicious! Thank you so much!" Serena smiled, taking a bite from her slice of the ice cream cake.
"Your welcome!" The three of us said in unison. Afterward, Mom and Dad went into their bedroom and came back with a few multicolored gift bags covered in tissue paper. "Now, one of your presents is not in this bag, but we'll tell you what it is when your done opening these!" Dad explained to Serena before she started going through the bags, grinning like a hyper child. "Oh my god! The newest Ariana perfume!" She gasped, holding up the box containing the heart-shaped bottle, and from the looks of it, it came with lotion too.
"Thank you so much, Mom!" Serena smiled, rushing over to hug her. "No problem, sweetie. I know how much you wanted that perfume," After that, Serena pulled out a few shirts, pants, and a few more girl products. "So, what was the gift you guys were talking about earlier?" Serena asked after putting her gifts in our room. Mom and Dad looked at each other and smiled before meeting Serena's eyes. "We've been talking, and we decided that when we get back to LA, we're buying you your own car!" Mom smiled.
Serena's jaw dropped. "You're being serious?" She gaped. "Yes," Dad assured her. Her hands flew to her mouth, and I went over and hugged her. "This is amazing! I'll get to learn how to drive!" Serena smiled. "And I'll be there for there for you for all of it, Serena," I muffled into her hair, making her smile. "Thank you guys so much! I love you all!" Serena smiled, holding her arms out and inviting us into another family hug.
Later that night, as we were getting ready for bed, I looked over to my bedside table. A little black box hid behind the alarm clock. I was waiting for the right moment to give it to Serena, and I was hoping that she would like it when she saw it. The bathroom door opened, breaking me out of my daze, and she came out wearing a white nightgown that nearly covered her knees. Her hair was wrapped in a white towel, and she walked towards her suitcase, grabbing her hairdryer.
"Hey Serena, before you go blow-dry your hair, there's one more gift I want to give you," I spoke up as she headed back to the bathroom. She set down the hairdryer and sat next to me on the bed with a grin. I placed the box into her hands, and my heart began to race as I watched her slowly open it. "Oh my god," She gasped, a hand flying to her mouth. Inside was a silver promise ring with small diamonds around it. The words "I love you" were spelled out across the main band.
"I know we're a little young to get married, but I know in my heart that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I can't lose you again, Serena. If I do, I will never forgive myself. I promise to be by your side and never cause you pain. Will you accept this ring and promise to one day marry me?"
"You won't lose me, Aidan. I promise you that," She assured. My heart continued to race a thousand miles an hour and I was hoping that she was saying yes to the promise ring. "So, does that mean-" "Yes, Aidan, I promise to one day marry you!" Serena nodded before flying into my arms. My hands flew to her cheeks, and I cupped her face gently as we shared the most passionate of kisses.
"Here, let me put it on your finger," I said when we pulled apart, lightly prying the box from her hand and slipping the ring onto her right ring finger. "It's so pretty, Aidan. Thank you," She said as she admired the ring. "Your welcome, anything for the girl I love,"
A/n: I know this is a bit of a shorter chapter than the other ones, but the next chapter will be a bit longer! :)
