Chapter Twenty Three

Aidan's P.O.V.

I was surprised that Serena wanted to talk after making it abundantly clear she no longer wanted to be seen with me. But at the same time, I was relieved that she was finally allowing me to tell her what happened. All I could do was hope that she would believe me. My goal wasn't to get her to be my girlfriend again, but I wanted to remain a part of her life. Relationship or no relationship, she was part of my family and would always be.

"Take all the time you need to think about this. And if you don't want to get back together, that is 100% okay. But I want to be there in your life even if I'm just a foster brother to you," I assured her, placing both hands on her shoulders as I looked into her eyes. Serena's mouth slightly opened as if she was going to say something. But, before she had the chance to respond, the trailer door opened, and we both looked over to see Eden standing in the doorframe.

"You. What do you think you are doing here?" Serena growled, her face beginning to turn red with rage. "Oh, sorry to ruin this cute moment between exes, but I'm going to need you to get out of here. Aidan and I need to talk," Eden smirked. "No, whatever you're going to say, say it to my face since you have a lot of nerve to talk shit behind my back," Serena said as she stood up and walked towards her.

They glared at each other for a while, and I felt helpless, not knowing what to do in this situation. Eden was a bomb that ruined everything we had worked so hard to achieve in our relationship. If anyone had any right to be angry, it was Serena. "How could you do this to Aidan and me? What did I ever do to you?" Serena asked through clenched teeth. Eden just smirked and rolled her eyes. "I have no idea what you are talking about," She denied.

The red in Serena's face grew brighter than ever, and I could tell she was trying to hold back from hurting her. "Don't lie. Aidan told me everything. What gives you the right to kiss my boyfriend? I accused him of purposefully cheating because of you!" She shouted. Eden looked over at me with wide eyes. "You told her?" She growled. "Eden, we may have had something between us in the past, but that is long gone. I've moved on and found someone better," I said as I stood next to Serena, gently taking her hand in mine.

The redness in her cheeks softened a little as she continued to look at Eden. "Get out. And don't even think about coming to the concert this Friday," Serena growled. Eden continued to smirk before eventually giving up and walking out of the trailer. Serena and I let out breaths of relief and embraced each other for a moment before we pulled apart. "I should probably get back to T.J's trailer, so I'll see you after you get off work?" She asked.

Is she saying she's coming back to the hotel? "I'll think about getting back together with you. Just give me some time, okay?" My heart began to pound. I haven't lost her yet. I waited until I was sure she was a reasonable amount away from the trailer before I let out a shout of excitement. "Yes!" I smiled to myself before collapsing onto the sofa with a smile on my face.

*******

Serena's P.O.V.

The moment Eden had left the trailer, I felt all my anger slip away from me, and instead, I was filled with relief. Relief that I had once again stood up to her. As I walked back to T.J's trailer, I could hear the faint sound of someone shouting. I knew right away it was Aidan. I couldn't help but smile when I heard that. He had most likely assumed that I was going back to the hotel with him, which I was.

I entered the trailer, and I saw T.J. lying down on the sofa with her phone in her hands. "So, how did it go?" She asked when she finally noticed me. "It went well. Eden did come in, though. But I confronted her about what she did," I explained. "So, you guys back together?" I told her that I needed time and that I told Aidan that. She motioned me to sit next to her, and she embraced me.

"I'm going back to the hotel tonight. I think I've overstayed my welcome for too long," I muffled. "Okay, but just know that if you ever you ever need to get away again if something else does happen, give me a call, and we'll let you stay over," T.J. nodded understandingly. T.J. reminded me a lot of Vanessa. She had that kind personality that showed to everyone. And every time I talked to T.J, it felt like I was talking to Vanessa.

The rest of the day went by at a reasonable pace, and it felt like any ordinary day. Aidan and I had lunch together, which surprised everybody, except for T.J, Emmy, and Robert. "You're giving him a second chance?" Cameron asked when I told him what happened. "Yes, I am. I know he wouldn't lie about something like this. He's been open to me for as long as I've known him," I nodded. He let out a sigh before meeting my eyes.

"Serena, my sister had a shitty boyfriend a year ago. She kept giving him chances, and every time, she got hurt. This thing between you and Aidan is not going to end well, I can already tell," "You're wrong. It's going to end well. I'm sure of it," I said before walking away and grabbing my backpack and guitar. "I'll call you later tonight," I promised T.J. before I got into the Uber with Aidan.
