Chapter Twenty Seven
Aidan's P.O.V.
The car ride back to the hotel was silent. As much as I tried to forget about what just happened, it kept replaying over and over again. Serena's cries of anguish filled my head as she explained what Cameron had tried to do to her. I knew Cameron was bad news with his rotating door of girls, but never did I imagine that he would try to take advantage of someone, let alone Serena.
I was brought out of my flashback when my phone started vibrating like mad. I took it out of my pocket and saw multiple texts flash onto the screen. Some were from the younger cast, one from my mom, and One from Gerard.
Gerard
Gerard: Is Serena okay?
Aidan: Yeah, she's fine. We're heading back to the hotel now. Is Steve done with Cameron yet?
Gerard: Not yet. He wants to know if you want to press charges or not.
I was in shock, but at the same time, I knew that Steve didn't play around with something severe like this. I glanced over at Serena, she rested her arm near the window, and her eyes had fluttered closed. I guess we can talk about possible charges later.
Aidan: She's asleep right now. I'll talk to her about it later and let you know.
Gerard: Okay, take care of yourself, man.
Aidan: I will, thanks.
I answered the other text messages as quick as lightning, letting my mom know about the situation. Needless to say, she was stunned and asked if Serena needed to go to the hospital, but I assured her that we got her checked out at the medical trailer. Like Gerard, she asked if we were going to press charges, but that had yet to be determined. When we pulled up to the hotel, my parents were waiting outside for us. I carried the sleeping Serena out of the car and laid her down on the bed back in our hotel room.
"Aidan, you're doing a great job of taking care of her. Despite everything that happened, I can tell you're trying to make it right," Mom said when she and Dad pulled me aside. "I want to protect her. I owe her that," I nodded. We all embraced each other before we walked off and went to our own separate thing. Even though Serena was still asleep, I stayed by her side and watched over her, like I was her guardian angel. And in some way, I was.
My phone started ringing an hour later, and I saw the number was unknown. It was a little creepy to admit, but I went ahead and answered it anyway, heading to the bathroom to not wake up Serena. "Hello?" I said in a low tone. "Are you happy now, Aidan?" a voice shouted into the phone. Immediately I knew it was Cameron. "What? You tried to assault Serena and try to get away with it?" I whispered shouted.
"I got fired because of you! I could go to court if that bitch decides to press charges!" I was stunned that he got fired so quickly, but at the same time, he deserved it. But now that he was fired, what would be next for the younger cast? Would they find someone to replace Cameron? I had so many questions, but I didn't have time to think about the answers.
"Well, you brought it on yourself, buddy. You and Eden tried to break us up, and you wanted her as your own. But let me tell you this, Cameron. You don't have a chance with her, especially after what happened," I growled. "Aidan, I'm not play-" I cut him off. He had his chance to talk. Now it was mine. "SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO ME, CAMERON!" The other end went silent. I think that got the message right through his head.
"You're toxic, and your bad news. Mark my words, I will show security and the event staff you and Eden's pictures. Don't you dare come, or we'll call the police. And if you do anything to ruin Friday for her, I. Will. End. You," I hissed before hanging up and blocking him from my Instagram. A knock came from the bathroom door, and I quickly opened it to see Serena was standing outside with confusion on her face.
"Who are you talking to?" She asked. "It was Cameron. He got fired, and he's pissed, but I ripped him a new one," I answered. The tears kept pouring down her face as I embraced her softly, whispering to her that everything was going to be okay. We had been through so much. I was sure we were going to get through it again. And I was going to be there for her every step of the way.
Later that night, we were in bed, and I felt kicking coming from the other side. I looked over to see Serena was convulsing and talking in her sleep. "Let me go! Don't hurt him!" She muttered. Without hesitation, I scooted closer to her and shook her awake, waking her from her nightmare. "Oh, Aidan!" She gasped, pulling me closer to her shaking body.
"It's okay, it was just a nightmare, I'm here, I'm okay," I whispered, once she had told me what happened. When we pulled apart, she looked into my eyes, and in the darkness, her tears glistened as they fell down her delicate cheeks. "Tell me you won't leave me," She begged. I ran a hand through her blonde hair as I continued to look at her, hoping to make her feel comfortable. "I am never going to leave you, Serena. I promise," I said, placing a small kiss on her nose.
Instantly, I felt guilty for doing that when we weren't together. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that," I whispered. "N-no, it's okay," She assured, placing a hand on my cheek. "Are you sure?" She nodded before kissing my nose, making me blush a deep pink.
