Chapter Twenty Four

Aidan's P.O.V.

As Serena got into the Uber, I could feel my heart start to pound a hundred miles an hour, and I was tempted to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming. She was coming back to the hotel after spending nearly a week being away from me and pretending like I didn't exist. On the way back, I couldn't help but look over at her as she stared down at her phone, her fingers lightly tapping the screen.

After a small amount of traffic, we finally approached the front of the hotel and got in the elevator. "Your parents are probably going to be asking questions," Serena said, breaking the silence. "I'm sure they will," I nodded as the elevator glided up to the top floor and we walked down the hall back to the room.

The moment we walked back inside, my parents were sitting on the sofa, eating dinner while watching TV. "Hey, Aidan, how was-" Before Mom could finish her sentence, her gaze shifted to Serena, her eyes went slightly wide. "Oh, Serena. You came back," She smiled. "Yes I did. It was about time I came back," Serena nodded as she set down her backpack. "So, are you two back together?" Dad pulled me aside as Serena went into the bathroom.

"Not at the moment, she's thinking about it, but at the moment we're co-existing," I explained. I wanted to tell them that everyone that happened with Eden, but once my parents made up their minds about something, there was no way they were going to change it. Serena came out a couple minutes later wearing a pair of sweatpants and a white pajama shirt. "We ordered takeout, there's a few boxes of Veggie burgers in the fridge if you want them," Mom called out to the two of us.

"So, what was it like being at T.J's house? Were they nice?" I asked Serena before taking a bite of my burger. "Definitely! Her mom is so sweet!" She answered with a smile on the corner of her lips. I figured that T.J would be a good person to Serena, she was nice to everybody she came into contact with. "Oh! Wait here, I want to show you my outfit for the concert on Friday!" She got up from her chair and walked into the bedroom, coming out a moment later with a brown bag in hand. She set it down on the sofa and pulled out the outfit, as well a pair of boots.

"W-wow!" I gasped when she held up the outfit. She flipped it around so Mom and Dad could see and they were just as in awe as I was. "Do you like it? The younger cast chipped in and bought it as an early birthday outfit!" Serena gushed. "Y-yeah it looks amazing!" I could already see her wearing that outfit at the concert. She looked stunning in anything she wore, and I already wanted Friday to come so bad so I could see her rocking her outfit as she sang her heart out.

She put the clothes and boots back into the bag went to the bedroom and continued eating dinner. The rest of the night went by like any other night, and I started to act like what happened at the rec center never happened. And from how Serena was acting, she was trying to forget it happened as well. Her birthday was getting closer and closer by the second, and I still had no idea what she wanted to do for her birthday. The only to find out was to ask.

We were laying in bed, a reasonable distance from one another, and all I could do was look up at the ceiling as I waited for sleep to come. "Are you happy about turning seventeen soon?" I whispered, breaking the silence. "Yeah. It's safe to say that this year had been a total shit show," She lightly chuckled. I turned onto to get a better glance at her as she continued talking. She talked about how she wanted to put more music out there with the help of me and her record label and I couldn't help but smile at her need for my guidance.

"You know, while I was at T.J's, I gave some thought about what I want to do for my birthday," She sighed, looking in my direction. "Yeah? What do you want to do?" I asked, my eyelids beginning to grow heavy the longer I stayed in that position. "I want to go out to a nice restaurant. I think it's called Ritz Volos, I heard they have a delicious selection of Vegan food you can't get anywhere else,"

The name Ritz Volos sounded familiar. I had never been there before because of my busy schedule, but if Serena wanted to go there for her birthday, I was going to make sure we went there. "That sounds like a good idea," I smiled. Serena turned onto her side and our eyes met. It was hard to look away from her, I was happy that we were talking again, and that there was no longer bad blood between us.

"We should rest, it's going to be a long day tomorrow," Serena sighed before turning away from me. "Goodnight, Aidan,"

"Goodnight, Serena," I whispered before I gave into slumber.
