Chapter Twenty

Aidan's P.O.V.

My job as an actor can be difficult at times. Some of my fans think it's easy, like counting to ten, but that's where they can be wrong. This day, in particular, was hard for me on so many levels. Not only was I upset that I couldn't talk to Serena, but also because the writers added a new scene to the Episode 5 script, and we all had to learn the lines within a few hours. After that, it took another few hours to finish shooting the scene, and by lunchtime, we were all exhausted.

I walked over to one of the sofas where the younger cast was gathered. But when I approached them, they immediately looked over at me, shooting cold looks, like I had just murdered a litter of puppies. Serena glanced over at me for a moment before putting her headphones on, silently telling me to go away. I found an empty sofa in the corner of the breakroom, away from the others. I was hoping that they would leave me alone, but they continued glaring at me.

I tried hard to block them out, but how could I when almost everybody believed that I had cheated on my girl with one of the co-stars? Eventually, Robert and Emmy stood up from their seats and sat on the sofa across from me with their lunches in hand. "Don't get the wrong idea, Aidan. What you did to Serena was shitty, but I'm not going to shoot you dirty looks," Emmy said, taking a sip of her water.

A little thought popped into my head. If I can't talk to Serena myself and tell her what really happened, maybe someone else can. Elliot already knows the truth, but he and Serena don't talk that much. Robert and Emmy are the best chance I have. "Look, I know I look like the bad guy, but you don't know the whole story," I whispered. "The whole story? What else is there to say after you cheated on your girl?" Robert responded.

"There were things that happened before Serena got back to the pool, and I'll tell you. All I'm asking from you is at least five minutes to tell you what happened," I pleaded. I didn't want plead. But at this point, I was beginning to grow desperate to repair things with her. If I didn't, then who knows what would happen next? Robert and Emmy looked at each other, uncertainty in their eyes, but eventually, the two of them caved in and nodded. "Five minutes, that's all you've got," Emmy whispered.

The three of us walked out of the breakroom and over to one of the nearby sets to talk. There were a few producers and screenwriters nearby. But they were away far enough so they couldn't hear the conversation that took place. I told Robert and Emmy everything from the texts on the way there to the conversation we had at the pool before she forced herself onto me. By the time I was done, their jaws had dropped.

"Oh my god. I knew Eden could be pushy sometimes, but I never imagined her doing that when she clearly knows you have a girlfriend," Emmy shook her head in disbelief. "I know, I was surprised myself. Since then, she's been trying to call and text me, trying to get back together with me, but I keep blocking and telling her, 'No, I don't want you back," I inhaled sharply. "You guys are close to Serena. If she won't listen to me, maybe she'll listen to you guys. Could you tell her the truth, please?"

"Yes. But you sure you're telling the truth?" Robert asked. I looked them in the eyes as I nodded and gave them my word. "I swear on my life," They walked off, leaving me alone on the set, and all I could do was hope that they would follow through with it.

*******

Serena's P.O.V.

When Aidan approached the sofas where me and the younger cast and I, save for Eden, were eating lunch, I was both shocked and angry. He had the audacity to try to talk to me after what he had done. I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of talking to him, so I just plugged in my headphones and blasted my music until he walked away. Cameron tapped my shoulder, letting me know he was gone, and I took off the headphones as we continued with our conversations.

"So, have you picked out an outfit to wear to the performance?" Blake asked, taking a bite from his Caesar salad. "No, not yet. It's hard because I want it to show my personality, but I think it's basic," I answered. "Girl, you're not basic at all. You are different! And whatever you choose is going to look great!" T.J. smiled. She always knew how to make me feel better, and I felt good with making the call to stay with her for a while.

"Maybe we should all hang out together this weekend!" she smiled. My heart sank a little. I didn't want to go to another hang-out session because of what happened last time. Dante and Ethan could see the look on my face and looked over at T.J. "I don't think that's a good idea," Dante admitted. "No, we're not going to invite Aidan or Eden. We can go to the mall together as a group and hang out," T.J. said in a low tone to not attract attention to Aidan.

Hearing her say that made me feel so much better. Everyone started nodding that we should go for it. And T.J let out a quiet squeal. Just then, Gerard and Steve walked in and called for the older cast to come on set. "Where's Aidan? Does anybody know where Aidan is?" Steve asked. We looked up to see that Aidan was no longer in the breakroom. "He said he was going onset early," Emmy called out.

Gerard and Steve nodded and walked out of the room with the older cast following behind them. "Well, we better get back to work. Can't wait to hang out soon!" Cameron smiled at me before he and the younger cast stood up and walked out of the room.
