Chapter Three
Aidan's P.O.V.
I knew that Serena had audios of the abuse she went through with her Aunt, but I thought she would've deleted them after the custody hearing. So it was a shock to me when I saw she still had them on her phone. When she stopped crying, we decided to delete them for her own sake. Even though I could never erase the memories from her head, I could at least help by deleting those heartbreaking audios.
We held each other until it was time for us to go to bed. They needed me at the studio bright and early for the camera test. I closed the large curtains in our room and turned off the lights before getting into bed and looking over at Serena's side. I'll admit, it felt a little awkward sleeping in the same bed with her, but at the same time, I was happy that I got to wake up next to her every morning while we were in Toronto.
"Goodnight angel," I whispered, planting a soft kiss on her cheek. "Goodnight babe," she sleepily whispered back. That next morning, the alarm went off around 5:30, and I groaned as I reached over and turned it off. While I rubbed the tired out of my eyes, I couldn't help but smile, seeing Serena still sleeping peacefully. I crawled over to her side of the giant bed and gently shook her awake.
"Serena, it's time to wake up," I whispered. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, and she half-smiled as she flipped onto her back and stretched. "I'm going to hop in the shower real quick, and we'll eat breakfast," I smiled. "Okay," she groaned. After my shower, I got changed and walked into the kitchen, where I saw Serena sitting at the bar, eating breakfast. "Morning bub," she smiled. "Morning," I smiled, planting a kiss at the top of her head before sitting down next to her. Mom placed my breakfast of coffee and toast in front of me.
"So, are you excited to film Season 3, Aidan?" Mom asked as she grabbed her breakfast and sat down across the counter from us. "Yeah, and I can't wait for Serena to meet everyone," I answered, looking over at Serena when I mentioned her. I had a feeling that she would get along with everyone just fine because of how sweet she was. I saw some of the younger cast's comments on my Instagram from the night of the concert, so some of them knew who she was. But I don't think the older cast knew much about her.
After breakfast, I grabbed my backpack with my laptop, script, and a few other things, and we headed out and waited for the Uber to take us to the set. Serena's leg started shaking as we sat on a bench, and I became a little concerned for her. But from the look on her face, I knew that she was just excited to meet everyone. "So, while your in you're camera test, what can I do?" she asked, breaking the silence. "You can hang out in my trailer. I don't know how long the camera test is going to be, but I'll come and check in on you whenever I can," I answered, smiling at her.
"You don't have to do that Aidan. You've been hanging out with me for the past three months. You should hang out with the other actors. You said that you couldn't wait to talk to Robert and Emmy again," I softly grabbed her hand, and she looked up from her phone. "I know, and I will. But I enjoy spending time with you," I whispered. Her cheeks began to turn a light pink, and she looked at the ground and smiled. A car pulled up to the curb, and we grabbed our stuff and got in. "So, why aren't your parents coming with us?" she asked.
Over the years, I had tried to tell my parents that I didn't need them to be there with me whenever I was onset, and I had finally managed to convince them to let me go to work with just Serena. They were a little scared at first, but I had reminded them that I am sixteen, almost seventeen and that I could handle myself. I gave Serena the lengthy explanation and saw confusion spread across her face. But also a look of understanding.
When we finally got to the set after one hour of being in that Uber, Serena and I walked on the set, and we saw Jeremy, Steve, and Gerard take notice of us walking in. "Hi, Aidan! Nice to see you again!" Steve smiled. "Good to see you too, Steve," I smiled. When I first started working on The Umbrella Academy, I was a little nervous about being the youngest out of the main cast, but as I slowly got to know people better, the nervousness faded away. "Who's this?" Jeremy asked, looking over at Serena, who grabbed my hand and started to squeeze it.
"This is my girlfriend, Serena," I said, introducing her. "Nice to meet you," Serena said, with a hint of nervousness at the edge of her voice. Steve and Jeremy looked a little concerned about Serena being here, but I assured them that she wouldn't be a distraction from my work. "I'll be mostly hanging out in his trailer while he's working anyway. So you don't have to worry about me," She assured them.
"Okay, well, get changed into your costume Aidan, and we'll meet up with the others for the camera tests in a half-hour," Gerard instructed. We walked towards the lot where dozens of trailers were and came to a stop at a trailer with the words, "Number Five," written in bold lettering on the door. We stepped inside of the large trailer and took a seat on the small sofa. "There's snacks in the fridge if you need anything to eat," I said after I gave her the brief tour of the small trailer.
"This is really nice. I'm impressed," She smiled, setting down her bag and pulling out her laptop. I took a seat next to her, and I felt her gently place a hand on my left knee. "Thanks for taking me with you," she smiled, leaning slightly closer to me. "No problem," I smiled back. I leaned towards her as well, and we kissed. Each kiss we shared was full of more passion and desire, and I didn't care if anyone walked in on us making out. All that mattered was that I was with Serena.
"Okay, you should go get ready," she said, pulling out of the kiss and smiling at me.
