Chapter Thirteen
Aidan's P.O.V.
Despite my warning, Cameron continued to come over to my trailer and hang out with Serena. But, he didn't hang out with her as often. And from what Serena had explained to me, she said that they talked about normal teenage things. Not that I didn't believe her, but there were times where I wanted to stay inside the trailer for a few minutes to make sure he didn't hit on her.
"Hey baby, can you help me tie the top of my swimsuit?" Serena called out from the bedroom. T.J had invited us and the rest of the younger cast to hang out at her dad's recreation center. They had a pool, a gym, everything you could think of, they had. I walked into the bedroom, and I saw her holding the strings of her light purple swimsuit behind her neck. I gently pried the strings out of her hands and tied them enough so it wouldn't come loose while we were in the pool. "Thanks," She smiled for a moment before letting her face fall when she looked at herself in the mirror.
"What's wrong?" I asked. Her hands moved down to her waist, and she slightly pulled at her small amount of belly fat. "I hate my body," She sighed. I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me. "Don't say that. It's beautiful," I smiled. She looked over with a funny look, silently telling me that I was just saying that to make her feel better. But really, I meant it. "No, I'm serious. I think you're perfect, just the way you are," I assured. Her cheeks turned a bright pink, and I planted a kiss on one of them, making it grow a shade brighter.
Surprisingly, the weather was warm, and the sun had peeked through the clouds, making it feel like summer instead of winter. The two of us got into an Uber and began driving to the rec center. My phone vibrated in my pocket, and my eyes widened when I saw the Caller ID, it was Eden. I thought I blocked her from my phone after we broke up, but for some reason, the number was now unblocked.
Unknown Number
???: Hey, handsome. It's Eden.
Aidan: I thought I blocked you.
Eden: I got a new cell number a few months ago.
Aidan: Whatever, what do you want? And if you're going to talk bad about Serena, say it to my face.
Eden: Oh, Aidy, your so silly.
Aidan: I'm serious, Eden.
Eden: 🙄 Anyways, are you going into the pool?
Aidan: Yeah, why?
Eden: Just curious. No need to overreact.
"Who are you texting?" Serena asked. I looked over at her, she was looking outside the window, and I was very thankful that she did not see my conversation with my ex. "It was just Blake. He was asking if we were still coming or not," I lied. She nodded as she continued to look out at the window, and I continued the conversation with Eden, hoping that she would stop texting me before I was forced to block her again.
Aidan: Stop texting me, Eden. You're going to get me in trouble.
Eden: Oh, are you scared of your girlfriend's wrath?
Aidan: I'm not scared. I just don't want her to get upset.
Eden: Admit it, you're scared of her!
Aidan: And you're blocked.
Block Unknown Number?
Yes / No
Unknown Number blocked!
Soon, we arrived at the recreation center, and the moment we walked to the pool, T.J took notice of our appearance and ran towards us in her flip-flops, hugging the both of us. "I'm so glad you two could make it! It wouldn't be the same without you two here!" She smiled. I took our stuff and placed it on one of the chairs, and took off my shirt and shorts, revealing my black swim trunks. "So, any luck on finding Serena a birthday gift yet?" T.J whispered while Serena went to the water fountain. "I have a few ideas, but she isn't specific about what she wants. She says that she has everything she could ever want," I explained.
"Well, maybe you should surprise her with her favorite dinner and a little something special, like maybe a piece of jewelry," T.J suggested. That was a good idea. There was this one dish that Serena liked more than anything. It was the vegan pasta that my mother made the night Serena met my family. "That's a good idea! T.J, you're a genius!" I smiled. "I try to be," she smiled. Serena came back a couple of minutes later, now wearing her swimsuit. "You want to get in the pool?" she asked, setting down her water bottle.
I nodded, and we got into the pool together. The water was cold at first, but slowly, it became warmer, and I was able to swim around without having to worry about the cold water hitting my joints. We spent most of the time leaned up against the wall while we waited for Blake, Dante, and the others to arrive, they did, and we all hung out and talked for a while. "Sorry, I'm late!" Eden called out, running in, and placed her bag on a random chair. Yay, Eden's here.
She looked over at me and smiled before taking off her shirt and shorts to reveal she was wearing a dark red swimsuit. Her cleavage was showing, and I had a hunch that she was trying to get my attention, which I would not give. Serena's eyes went wide when she saw Eden's swimsuit, and I gently rubbed the back, telling her that she didn't need to compare her body to other people.
"What would I do without you as a boyfriend?" she whispered, resting her head on my shoulder. A little while later, T.J suggested that we played water volleyball, and it was fun. I can't remember the last time we hung out, and it was this fun. Don't get me wrong, every time I hung out with them was fun, but besides the Season 1 premiere, this was the best day we spent together. After a few rounds, we were all pooped out, and we took a break and did our own thing.
Serena went to the bathroom, and I rested against the pool wall, looking up at the ceiling. "Hey, Aidan," A voice said, catching my attention. I looked down, and you'll never guess it was...
It was freaking Eden.
