Chapter Ten

Serena's P.O.V

I had been trying for about an hour to come up with a new song for the upcoming concert. I had gotten a call from my manager, and he told me that I needed to come up with at least two new songs, both needing to have a different mood. But every time I tried to write something, my mind went blank. And it had gotten to the point where I was trying everything that could help me get at least a few words written down.

But even after belting out one of my favorite Rihanna songs, nothing motivated me. "Goddamn it!" I sighed, throwing my pencil across the room in frustration. "OW!" A voice groaned out. I looked up to see that someone had entered the trailer. At first, I thought it was Aidan, but it wasn't. Instead, it was Cameron. "Oh my god! Cam! I'm so sorry!" I said, running over to him and checking to see how bad the damage was.

Luckily the pencil just missed his eye and instead hit his right temple. "Oh, it's okay. I should've warned you that I was coming in," He said, taking a seat on the sofa while I grabbed an ice pack from the small fridge to put on the red spot. "I'm really sorry. I've been stressed out today with this upcoming show and trying to write new music. It's not easy, you know?" I apologized again as I wrapped the ice pack in a dishrag. "Serena, I told you it's okay," He assured me. Even though he told me that, I still had that lingering sense of guilt.

"I know, but I feel like I have to apologize all the time. Even if it's not my fault," I said as I placed the icepack on his temple. Cam hissed for a moment at the cold sensation but soon took it from my hand and held it. "You're stressed about your show? What's going on?" He asked. I explained the situation, and by the time I was done, he gave me a look of sympathy. "I know all about those high expectations. My parents expect so much for me, and it gets to me too," He comforted.

Even though Aidan and I had gotten to a point in our relationship where we would tell each other was going on, I had never admitted it to him that I was feeling stressed out. I knew that being an upcoming star wasn't easy, but at the same time, it still surprised me whenever I struggled. "Thanks, Cam. That really helped me out," I smiled. We stared at each other for a little while, wondering who was going to say what next. "So, this is going to sound a little weird, but do you like being in a relationship with Aidan?" Cameron asked.

"Of course! He's helped through a lot of tough times," I answered, not in the least bit offended. "How?" He asked. I had a feeling that question was going to pop up eventually. I just didn't expect it to be so soon. "He and his family got me out of an abusive home. After that, his parents treated me like a member of the family," I answered. Cameron's face fell slightly, and he hugged me. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked," he muffled.

"It's okay," I whispered. The trailer door opened, and Cameron and I immediately pulled apart, thinking that Aidan had returned. It turns it was Aidan, and he walked over and kissed me before going into the fridge and grabbing one of his snacks. "What have you two been up to?" He asked. "We've just been talking. I got a call from my manager earlier, and they want me to write two new songs before the concert," I answered, slightly glancing over at the blank sheets of paper.

Aidan looked at me with pity and took a sip from his large water bottle. "I'll let you guys be," Cameron said before walking out of the trailer. The moment Cameron left, Aidan's face changed from happy-go-lucky to serious. "Seems like Cameron likes hanging out with you," he said in a low tone once he was sure that Cameron was gone. "We relate to a lot of things, and we enjoy hanging out," I shrugged.

"Look, I'm not going to be the guy who tells who you should and shouldn't hang out with cause that's not who I am.  But I need to warn you about him," I was confused. What did Aidan need to warn me about? "What is it?" I asked. "I've known Cameron since I started working here. He's like a revolving door with girls. He'll meet girls, become their friend, and date them. And then later break their hearts. I don't want him to take you away from me, Serena,"

I knew Aidan was trying to protect me. But I had a feeling that I could trust Cameron. "I understand your fears, Aidan. But I don't think you have to worry. I have only have eyes for you and only you, nobody else," I swore. Aidan's face softened, and I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him softly. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me," I muffled.
