Chapter Six
Serena's P.O.V.
Back in the trailer, I went into the fridge, grabbed a sparkling ice, and sat down on the sofa with Aidan. His fingers began to slowly stroke strands of my hair, and I couldn't help but smile as I spent some time with the one I loved. I wanted to tell him ever since we started dating that I loved him, but I was worried that I was rushing into things too quickly. So, I kept it to myself. "I'm glad we're here together. I wouldn't want to be here with anyone else," I whispered. "Me too," he whispered back.
I scooted closer to him until my kneecaps were almost touching his leg. He just kept smiling and staring into my eyes. He scooted towards me and wrapped his arms around my back. "Can I kiss you?" He asked. "Of course," I nodded. Our lips collided with one another, and we made every one of them last. Each one becoming more passionate with every passing moment.
My ringtone went off, and immediately we pulled apart, and I walked over to the counter where my phone was charging. "Who is it?" Aidan asked, walking over to me. I put a finger to my lips as I picked up the phone. "Hello? Is this Serena Waterbury I am speaking to?" A female voice on the other end asked. "Yes, this is she," I answered. "Hi, Serena, this is Kate. I'm the owner of The Rockpile, I saw your performance online, and I would like to invite you to sing here on January 18th,"
My jaw dropped the moment she said that, and I looked over at Aidan with surprise. "What is it?" he mouthed. "Are you serious?" I asked. "Yes. If you're interested, we would love to have you here!" Kate confirmed. "Yes! Yes, I am interested! I'll have my agent give you a call, and we can schedule!" I squealed before hanging up. Aidan looked over at me with expectancy and some excitement in his eyes as I turned around. "The Rockpile wants me to perform for them on January 18th!"
His jaw dropped as well, and he pulled me into his embrace, and we squeezed each other so tightly until we felt like our guts would pop out. "I performed there once. It's a nice place!" He muffled against my shoulder. "But, you do know what it means, right?" I asked. He looked at me confused, silently questioning what I was talking about. "It means I'm going to perform the day before my birthday!" I smiled.
I had been looking forward to turning seventeen for a while. It was going to be a new year and a new me. And I couldn't wait to kick it off with Aidan. "A great way to close out your sixteenth year! Speaking of, have you thought of doing anything special for your birthday?" he asked, taking my hands in his. I hadn't given it much thought with the move to Toronto and all. I didn't care where we went or what we did. As long as I was with Aidan, I knew it would be perfect.
"I haven't made up my mind yet, but whatever we do, I want to spend it with you," I smiled, gently caressing his cheek. He grinned from ear to ear and planted a soft kiss on my cheek. "I'm so proud of you, Serena. You're becoming a shining star," My cheeks turned a light pink with flattery, and I pulled him into another kiss. When we pulled apart, I chuckled when I saw that I had gotten pink lipstick all over his mouth.
"What's so funny?" he asked. I turned on my phone and handed it to him so he could see his reflection in the camera. "I better go wash this off before Robert thinks we did the dirty," He chuckled, walking into the bathroom. I sat back down on the couch and silently cheered that I was going to put on a show in Canada. I had been worried that I wouldn't get calls from venues asking me to perform, but this was a pleasant surprise.
"So, are you going to be performing any new songs at this concert?" Aidan called out from the bathroom. "Yeah, and I'll be singing our songs too. Is it alright if I do a cover of one of your songs?" I had been wanting to a cover of one of his songs besides Miss You. But I couldn't decide which one, it was between either Blue Neon, For You, or 4th of July. Aidan poked his head out of the bathroom. The lipstick was gone. "Of course, babe! What song were you thinking about?"
"I'm still thinking about it, but I'm leaning towards For You. It's one of my favorites," I answered. I could hear Aidan singing under his breath. "But don't leave me yet. There's something so comforting about your breath on my neck. How much more can I stand,"
"So pretend that you love me. Pretend you're not lying when you say that you still dream about me like I still do, for you," I sang along with him. He stepped out of the bathroom and adjusted his blazer before kissing me one more time and leaving the trailer, leaving me to my music.
