Chapter Fifteen
Serena's P.O.V.
Quickly, I ran back inside the bathroom and held the door shut as Aidan tried to get in. "What are you doing, man? That's my bag!" Aidan asked. "She's none of your concern anymore, Aidan," I heard Cameron say from the other side of the door. "Cam, I'm not playing-" "Shut up and listen to me, Aidan. What she's doing in there is none of your business. To her, you're nothing but a liar and a cheater," Cameron interrupted. I heard Aidan let out a sigh, and his footsteps receded down the hall.
"Was that Aidan?" T.J asked, still on the phone with her parents. "Yeah, it was. But he's gone now," I answered. I grabbed my shirt and shorts and changed in one of the stalls. My phone rested on the bathroom counter, vibrating like mad. I assumed it was Aidan blowing up my phone, but when I looked down, it wasn't him. Instead, it was his mom. "Are you going to answer it?" T.J asked. "Yeah, they should know I'm not coming back for a few days," I answered before picking up the phone and hearing Aidan's mom on the other end.
Lauren: Hey, Serena. Is everything okay with you and Aidan?
Serena: No, Aidan and I broke up.
Lauren: Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry.
Serena: I can't stay with him right now. Is it okay if I stay at T.J's house for a few days? I'll stop by the hotel and get my things.
Lauren: Of course, I'll see you in a little while, okay?
Serena: Okay, thank you.
"So what did she say?" T.J asked. "She said it was fine," I answered. I grabbed the bag from the ground, and we walked out. T.J and Cameron waited with me outside of the recreation center as we waited for the Uber to pull up. "You sure you going to be okay?" Cameron asked when it finally arrive. "Yeah, I'll be fine. Just don't tell Aidan I'm heading back to the hotel," I answered, getting into the backseat with T.J.
During the car ride back to the hotel, she started holding my hand and squeezed it from time to time. My phone vibrated in the pocket of my slightly damp shorts. I pulled it out to see eight text messages. One from my manager, One from Cameron, One from Aidan's Dad, and Five texts from Aidan.
I responded back to most of the messages but continued to ignore Aidan's texts as we got closer to the hotel. I was okay with the phone buzzing for a little while, but after about fifteen minutes, I got angry and finally looked at my phone to see Aidan's texts.
Aidan ☕
Aidan: Please don't tell me you're leaving.
We can work this out!
I want to work this out with you...
Please?
Block Aidan?
Yes / No
Aidan is blocked!
Without hesitation, I blocked him from my Instagram and Twitter as well, hoping that that would get the message through his head. We finally pulled up to the curb in front of the hotel. We quickly ran up to the hotel room, and I saw Aidan's mom was sitting on the couch watching tv. "What happened?" She asked, getting off the couch as we ran to the bedroom.
"He kissed Eden when I was in the bathroom," I answered, fighting back more tears. "Oh my. What do you want to tell him when he gets back and finds out your gone?" Lauren asked. "Tell him that I can't deal with him right now, but that I'm staying at a friend's house," I said as I grabbed some clothes from one of the drawers, along with my money, laptop, and my guitar that arrived the day prior.
Aidan's mom seemed a little hesitant to let me walk out the door, but she said she understood the situation and told me to stay safe. "I will, I promise," I assured her, embracing her before T.J and I got into another Uber. A car pulled up to the curb next to us, and I saw Aidan get out of the backseat. I quickly ducked down before he saw my blonde hair through the slightly tinted windows.
T.J gave the driver the address, and we sped off before Aidan could realize we were in the Uber in front of him.
*******
Aidan's P.O.V.
I had never been more desperate in my life to text someone. I know I shouldn't have spammed Serena's phone, but she wasn't going to talk to me at the recreation center with Eden around. I tried texting her, telling her multiples times that Eden came onto me, and I didn't kiss her back. But she never responded, and later, she blocked me. I instantly thought of messaging her on her Instagram or Twitter, but I was blocked from them as well.
I blamed Eden for all of it. If she hadn't kissed me and talked shit about Serena, none of this would've happened. I waited outside for my Uber to pull up and take me back to the hotel. My phone started ringing, and I instantly had high hopes that maybe Serena was finally going to allow me to tell her what happened. But my heart sank when I saw that it was my mom. And when I picked up, she did not sound happy.
She asked me what happened with Serena, and I told her the truth, but she didn't believe me. "Is she there now?" I asked, silently praying that she was. "You better get back to find out. The last time I saw her, she was very upset," Mom answered before I hung up the phone. When I got back to the hotel, I climbed the stairs two steps at a time and ran to the hotel room, only to find out that Serena had taken some of her things and left.
I'm too late.
"She's gone," Mom said, coming up from behind me, scaring me almost to death. "You brought this on yourself, you know," She said, a disapproving look on her face. "Mom, I told you the truth on the phone. Eden forced herself on me," I pleaded. But she continued to shake her head, telling me that she didn't believe me. "You better find a way to make it up to her before her performance at The Rockpile, Because if you don't, I guarantee that she will have a terrible birthday because of what you did," Mom warned.
She was right. If I was going to make it up to her and tell her what really happened, I needed to do something sooner rather than later.
