As we turned onto the next street, I felt my stomach start to grumble like an angry volcano, and I realized that I had forgotten to make some breakfast for myself. "Did you forget to eat breakfast again?" Vanessa asked, looking at me through the mirror for a second. "Yeah, but that's because I never have the time to make breakfast because I'm catering to the wicked witch and her offspring," I sighed. Ethan opened the glove compartment, and he handed me something in a foil wrapper. "Glad you keep these in here, Vanessa," Ethan said as I took the small breakfast bar from his hand.

"Thank you," I said. I devoured every piece of the bar, savoring the taste for a moment before swallowing. My cousins didn't want me to ride in the car with them because they claimed I was too shabby looking and that I would put their reputation at stake if I rode with them. Thank god I had Vanessa and Ethan. Otherwise, it would take me an hour to get to school. We pulled into a small parking spot near the main building, and I walked over to my locker, where I was greeted with an image of a girl who had anorexia, my face photoshopped onto it.

"Very funny, Ashley. Very funny," I muttered sarcastically under my breath as I crumpled up the piece of paper and threw it in the garbage can. Ashley had teased me relentlessly over the past few years. We used to be friends, and then after I told her about my struggles with having anorexia, she took advantage of my secret and told it to the whole school. Eventually, I was able to get better, and now I was healthy, but she still liked to make fun of me for it.

I grabbed my biology textbook and headed to my bio class that was near the west wing. "Alright, class, take out your homework from over the weekend. We will go over the answers after we watch morning announcements," Mr. Sutherland said as he turned on the large tv that was in the middle of the room. It was standard for the most part, with us saying the pledge and then sitting down and listening to the announcements.

It was mostly boring. The girl on the screen announced meetings for the chess, cross-country, and the key club. But then, as they were about to wrap up the announcement, breaking news came onto the screen. When I looked up, I could see there was a photo of my idol Aidan Gallagher on the screen, but I was confused as to why he was there. "We just got breaking news that Aidan Gallagher, who you may remember plays Five Hargreeves in the Netflix Original show, The Umbrella Academy, is going to be attending River Wren High starting tomorrow!" The girl on the screen squealed.

All the girls in the room started screaming with excitement. I knew that Aidan had a big fanbase, but never did I imagine that he had so many fans who were in high school. "Also, in other news, Aidan and his manager will be hosting a contest where one lucky student will win the opportunity to do a duet with him for his next song!"

My heart started pounding inside my chest, H-he's holding a contest, and he's going to be attending here? Meeting Aidan was a dream that I wanted to come true, I used to join his live streams, comment on them, and listen to him sing. But after my parents died, Aunt Mary took my phone away from me, claiming that she did not want to pay an extra bill. But luckily, Vanessa had a spare phone that was in good condition, and she gave it to me a few days before my birthday. It was the only gift I had received, so I cherished it so much while trying to keep it a secret from my Aunt and cousins.

I kept staring at the screen that continued to display Aidan's picture, and I imagined that he was sitting right across the table from me. I know it's sounded corny, but I've had a crush on him since I was twelve years old, and I couldn't wait to meet him in person.
