-Lunatic-
(season one; episode eight)

The werewolf had been forced once again by his best friend to go do something in the middle of the night. He expected nothing less. The previous events were bound to cause a reaction out of him.

"Can you tell me what we're doing out here?" He asked.

"Fine. When your best friend gets dumped-"

Scott interrupted, "I didn't get dumped. We're taking a break."

"Alright, when your best friend gets told by his girlfriend that they're taking a break..."

Stiles lifted a bottle of whiskey in his hand. "You get your best friend drunk, without the supervision of Joey."

•.•

It was now even later into the night and half the bottle was gone. Most of it being Stiles' doing.

"Dude, you know, she's just one girl. There's so many girls in the sea, man."

The wolf scoffed. "You mean fish?"

"Fish? I'm talking about girls. I love girls"

Scott sat with a bored expression; listening to his drunk friend.

"I love especially ones with blonde hair, green eyes, five foot six."

"Like Joey?" He asked.

"Yeah, wait- how'd you know?"

He rolled his eyes. "Dude, how would I not know? How does she not know, actually?"

"Who?"

"You are so drunk."

Stiles laughed. "Hey, your not happy. Take a drink."

"I don't want anymore." He dismissed.

"You're not drunk?" Stiles asked, slurring his words.

"I'm not anything."

As the boys gossiped about their feelings and relationships, Joey was having her own gossip session.

With the wall.

"Do you think I'm going crazy? I must be. Blood doesn't just randomly show up in a persons thoughts..."

She stared at the wall blankly.

"Right?"

Of course, she was getting no response back. She felt like it was helping her get somewhere.

"You're not going crazy, Joey." Someone laughed.

The girl turned quickly towards the voice, Jenson was sat at her window; scraping the paint off.

"You can't just sneak up on people."

"My apologies." He smirked.

The wind was coming inside quickly, making her shiver. "Get in and close the window."

Jenson nodded and closed it.

"Ya know, I went through the same things. I could help." He offered.

Joey brushed him off. "I just need to figure it out alone."

"Suit yourself. Don't freak out when the craving gets to be to much... It only makes it worse."

And just like that he had opened the window and left. It was a quick and brief moment but it showed she wasn't alone. That made her feel more at ease.

•.•

Students filled the classroom; Scott being one of them. He walked up to Allison's desk and muttered a 'hello.' He was pushed away by
Mr. Harris. That being the only time Allison has probably appreciated him.

"You have forty-five minutes to complete the test. twenty-five percent of your grade can be earned right now simply by writing your name on the cover. However, every year, one of you will forget to put your name on the cover."

Joey quickly reached down and scribbled her name on the sheet. As did Stiles.

"Let's get the disappointment over with. Begin."

Mr. Harris had started the timer. The blonde looked at the questions briefly before beginning the first one. Her feet were shaking from nerves.

And not just from the test.

She could hear something that sounded like a waterfall. Joey knew there wasn't one but she couldn't get it out of her head. It was all around her. Just as she brought her pencil down to the paper, she could feel her teeth ache harshly. The noises around her were building louder and louder. Pens clicking, phones vibrating, and every cough someone managed to get out.

Quickly, she grabbed her bag and launched upwards. Her feet carrying her out of the classroom swiftly. "Joey Russo." Mr. Harris called.

Scott not to far behind her, feeling the same effects. "Scott McCall!"

Then, Stiles running after them as well. "Stiles Stilinski!"

The girl ran next to Scott as he lead them to the locker rooms. He sat Joey down on the bench and turned on the shower water, dousing himself in it, just before his phone began to ring.

"Joey? What's wrong?" Stiles asked meeting her side.

She gave him a loud sigh. "Move back."

"What?"

"I'm gonna rip your throat out unless you get back."

Stiles scoffed; moving backwards. "You've been spending to much time with Derek."

Joey pointed towards the shower. "Scott's in there."

The boy let out a relieved sigh at the gesture. He was more worried about Joey than Scott. Mainly because she wanted to kill him.

"Uhm, can we rain check my murder? I don't wanna die today guys." He called out.

Heavy breaths erupted from the showers. Stiles ran in, almost falling on the way.

"Are you changing?"

Scott took in shallow gulps of air. "I can't breathe."

The brunette grabbed an inhaler out of his bag and threw it at the wolf.  "Here."

As he took in the medicine he regained his normal breathing patterns; relaxing.

"I was having an asthma attack?"

Stiles shook his head. "No, you were having a panic attack. Thinking you were having an asthma attack actually stopped the panic attack. Irony."

The girl stood by Stiles said suddenly. "I'm good."
She gave a thumbs up.

"How'd you know how to do that?"

"I used to get them after my mom died. Not fun, huh?" He said softly.

"I looked at her- it was like someone hit me with a hammer." Scott let out.

"Yeah, it's called heartbreak. There's about two billion songs written about it."

He shook his head. "It's different. I could feel everyone's emotions. Joey you were struggling too." She nodded.

"It has to be the full moon. And you-"

Stiles pointed at the girl.

"Well, I don't about you. I've got two supernatural besties on my hands now."

She sent him a glare.

"Denial at it's finest." He said.

"Tonight, we're doing more than just locking me in my room." Scott said suddenly.

"Why? Because you might get out and be hunted?"

"No... If I get out, I'll kill someone."

•.•

"Joey, we need to figure out what you are!" Stiles whispered as he sat across from the girl.

"I'm not like Scott. I literally crave blood."

He rolled his eyes. "Then... We chain you up with Scott. Just incase."

No response.

"If we don't know what you are, we can't take any chances."

Joey nodded hesitantly. She was scared not just for herself but for her friends.

•.•

Stiles and Scott sat on the players bench as Joey was stood next to coach.

"Listen, idiots. Due to the recents pink eye epidemic- Thank you, Greenberg- The following people have made first line..."

She gave the boys an eye roll. "Rodriguez, good job. Taylor, and... Robin, batman's sidekick."

At the nickname, Stiles jumped upwards with a cheer.

"Stilinski- Shut up." She shouted.

"Yes, ma'am."

"We also have a new co-captain? So, congrats Batman." She said throwing the piece of paper st Scott.

"Jackson- Don't you dare ask about you being captain still. The term co-captain means two. I don't make the rules. Have fun, blondie." She said patting him on the shoulder with a smirk.

Coach then blew the whistle. "Get on the field."

•.•

The boys made their way through the halls, stopping outside the door.

"Are you not freaking out?" Stiles asked.

"What's the point it's just a stupid title. And I could practically smell the jealousy in there."

"Wait, you smell jealousy?"

Scott rolled his eyes. "Yeah, it's like the full moons turned everything up to ten."

"Can you pick up on stuff, like desire?"

"What do you mean desire?" He asked gaining a smirk.

"Like sexual desire? Lust, passion..."

Scott turned towards Joey at the end of the hall.

"From Joey?" He smirked wider.

"In a general, broad sense, can you determine sexual desire?"

"From Joey, to you?"

"Fine, yes! I need to know if I have a chance with her, okay?"

The werewolf squinted. "Why don't you just ask?"

"To save myself from embarrassment? Just, please check?"

"Fine."

Scott turned and walked down the hall towards the girl. "Hey, can we talk for a second?"

Joey smiled. "Yeah of course."

He lead them into coaches office, meeting her eyes as he closed the door.

"Do you know if Allison still likes me?"

She nodded slowly. "She'll always like you, Scott. But she needs time."

"I have another question."

"Ask away." She said shrugging.

"Do you like Stiles? I just get the feeling you might."

Joey looked away. "Maybe."

•.•

"Hey, what happened?" Stiles asked as Scott sat down.

"What?"

"What do you mean, what? Does she like me? Did she imply she liked me?" He asked quickly.

"I don't know. If she does she'll tell you eventually."

Stiles expression dropped. "You didn't pick up on anything?"

"No, I didn't."

•.•

Every player on the team lined up, their sticks in hand. "Let's go!" Coach yelled.

After what seemed like forever Danny had gone down. The only reason Joey noticed was because everybody running to him caused her to take her headphones out and stop reading.

"I need my assistant coach over here!"

Joey ran to Danny who was laying on the ground with a bloody nose.

"Is he okay?" Lydia asked standing next to her boyfriend.

"Yeah, it looks like he just has a bloody nose-"

"What?" She asked.

"Your lipstick."

The strawberry blonde pulled her compact mirror out of her clutch. "Wonder how that happened."

"Yeah. I wonder."

Joey knew. Jackson knew as well. She had cheated. But with who?

•.•

Stiles dragged the girl into the front door of the McCall home with a smile. "Scott?"

Melissa stared at the pair.

"Stiles and Joey."

"Key." She pointed.

"Yeah. I had one made, so..."

She rolled her eyes. "That doesn't surprise me. It scares me, but it doesn't surprise me."

Joey dropped the duffel bag she had been carrying on the ground with a thud.

"What is that?" Melissa asked.

"School project." She replied.

"He's okay, right?"

Stiles stuttered. "Who? Scott? Yeah. Totally."

"He just doesn't talk to me that much anymore. Not like he used to."

"Well, he's had a bit of a rough week.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Okay, be careful tonight."

"You, too Mellisa." Joey mumbled.

"Yeah, it's a full moon tonight."

"What?" Both teens said in unison.

"Full moon? You should see how the E.R. gets. It brings out all the nut jobs."

"Oh. Right."

"You know, it's actually where they came up with the word 'Lunatic.'" Melissa walked closer to the door and walked out.

"Hey, before we go up there... Do you want the chains or the rope?"

She chuckled.

"I'm serious." He said with a straight face.

"Oh... The rope, please."

Then, the teens ran up the stairs to Scott's room.

"Here we go."

Stiles opened the door carefully and set the bag down in front of it.

"Oh my god. Dude, turn the light on if you're gonna sit there menacingly." Joey said.

"I thought you weren't home yet?" The brunette asked.

"I came through the window." Scott said.

"That's not scary at all." She said sarcastically.

"Let's get this set up. I want you to see what we bought."

"I'm fine. I'm just gonna lock the door and go to bed early tonight." He said in a low voice.

"You sure about that? 'Cause you have this serial killer sorta thing goin' on in your eyes."

"I'm fine. You should go now."

"All right, we'll leave."

Joey turned to Stiles quickly. "Seriously?"

"Will you- Listen, just look at what we got at least. Sound good?"

The wolf slowly stood; walking over to the bag and looking in. He then pulled out the chains.

"You think I'm gonna let you put these on and chain me up like a dog?"

"Actually, no."

Quickly, Stiles grabbed his arm and handcuffed him to the radiator.

"What the hell are you doing?" He yelled.

After he handcuffed Scott and stopped back, he grabbed Joey's arm and handcuffed her to the other side.

"What- I would've done it without being forced."

"Sorry." He muttered.

•.•

"I brought you some water." Stiles said dropping a dog bowl down and filling it.

"I brought a bottle to, for Joey." He handed the girl a bottle filled with water. She nodded.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Scott yelled throwing the bowl at him.

At the gesture, Stiles turned around abruptly.

"Ya know, for the past week, I've been thinking it's probably the full moon. That's the reason he's been acting like a shit friend. But- I can't even believe you didn't ask her. You know how much I like her and you just- God!"

"I did ask her." He mumbled.

"Guys, fill me in please." Joey said quietly.

"You did?" Stiles asked.

"She gave me an answer. I just thought it would be better to keep it to myself. It took me forever to get a definite answer out of her."

Stiles walked out of the room fast. Leaving no room for a reply.

"What are you guys talking about? Lydia?" She asked.

•.•

Scott pulled in his handcuffs roughly, trying to get out of them.

"Stop it, you idiot. You're gonna hurt yourself even more." Joey said.

"It's not like the first time, Stiles. It's Allison breaking up with me, I know it wasn't just a break. Please, let me out." He begged.

As the full moon grazed the open window, it had hit both teens. Causing Scott to growl.

Joey felt an immediate surge in power as she broke free from the cuffs. Scott had broken free as well, almost running out. Before he could, Joey grabbed his bleeding wrist and fed on it. She used her strength to hold him tightly and sucked the blood off. Scott pushed her off and jumped out the window with a scream.

"Scott, Joey? Are you okay?" Stiles shouted inside. He got no response. Just an empty room where the teens used to be.

•.•

Derek dragged a sleeping Joey into her bedroom and laid her on the bed. "Derek?"

He turned around quickly to look at the girl. "Go back to bed."

"No, Derek, is this really you? I swear if I'm dream-"

"Just shut up and hug me. I know you want to."

She did as told. The girl grabbed tightly on to him and squeezed. She really thought he was dead.

"You're really here." She mumbled into his jacket.

"I am here, Jo."

"Don't leave me. I can't lose you or anybody again."
