Minho had just kissed me.

One of the boys I liked, just kissed me.

And I was currently kising him back.

One of the boys I liked that was in a relationship with one of the other boys I liked.

Why was this more complicated than fighting Grievers?

When my common sense decided to show up, Minho was already pulling away, before I could.

I opened my mouth to talk to him when he looked up at the sky then cut me off.

"The sun's coming up soon. We should go check on Alby, get back to the Doors as soon as possible."

Before I could get a word in, he ran off.

Oh? Was that how this was going to be? I was planning on leaving you all alone, but no, you kiss me and then run off without an explanation.

What a gentlemen.

"Asshole," I muttered under my breath while following behing Minho, but keeping my distance.

"You say something, Greenie?" Minho said over his shoulder.

"Nope!" I yelled back. "Nothing you can know about anyway," I muttered again.

"You sure? Cause sounded like you called me an asshole," he said with an amused eyebrow raised.

"Oh," I said, running ahead of him slightly.

I heard chuckle in what sounded like disbelief before following after me.

He was about to say something when we heard a groan.

I looked up and saw Alby.

"Alby! You good?!" I yelled up at him.

"All good," he yelled back. "Well... as good as you can be in my situation!" He ammended.

"Okay," I said as I turned back to Minho. He was closer than I had originally thought though and my breath caught.

I cleared my throat.

"I'll untie the rope, if something happens, either be ready to catch him, or help break his fall," I said turning back to the rope.

"Good that," Minho responded.

"Okay, hold on Alby!" I yelled up at him.

I untied the rope and lowered him as carefully as I could.

He fell the rest of the small amount down before Minho half broke his fall.

I grabbed him by the shoulders and quickly hugged him.

He hugged back as best he could with a bad leg and a sore stomach.

I pulled back and helped him sit down.

"Well, I only have about one days experience with the whole medical thing, and Clint was my mentor - the Clint who is always complaining he isn't a real doctor - so my opinion probably isn't very good, but it doesn't look absolutely terrible. Maybe sore for a couple weeks, need to heal for at least a week but not to bad," I said with a playful smile.

"Well, thank you Dr. Thomas, but have you checked yourself?" Alby asked.

As soon as he said it, the pain from my hip, my ribs, and my hands, all came rushing back at the same time, causing me to wince sharply.

"Fine," I hissed.

"Yeah, no you aren't ya shank," Minho said.

"Look, maybe it hurts a bit, but I can make it to the Doors. Let's go," I said getting up, ignoring the massive pain that shot up my right side, and helped Alby up.

Minho looked at me, but apparently decided to just leave it.

We walked silently to the Doors, Alby to tired to really say much, Minho and I just as exhausted, and I was still a bit awkward about the whole kiss thing.

We were around two bends when we heard the Doors open.

We hurried up our pace, Alby helping as much as he could, and we were getting around the last corner.

Once Chuck spotted us, people started to come over and help grab Alby.

I held onto Alby while Frypan and Chuck helped me, Newt was busy hugging the living daylights out of Minho.

Frypan took support of Alby's other side since Minho had left and together we got him past the Doors, and I might've collapsed beside Alby from sheer exhaustion.

Clint came over quickly while Chuck stayed hovered over me and Clint.

Clint kept ranting at me, saying how I was stupid, how he could've lost his best - and only - apprentice after only one day, how had I gotten such bad injuries, and I let him mother me.

Felt a bit nice to be cared for.

I felt happy about it, knowing that Clint at least cared a little, and I know Chuck cared.

But there were more pressing matters.

"Hey, hey. Go check on Alby, he's probably more injured than I am," I tried to redirect Clint.

"Seriously Greenie?" Asked Minho.

His and Newt's lips were a bit swollen, and Thomas ignored the sad, suffocating feeling he felt.

"He's not the one that ran for his life and killed a Griever. You are, let Clint check you over," Minho continued in seeming nonchalance.

But Thomas saw the slightly sadistic glint in his eye, and knew he was dropping this bomb for fun.

All the Gladers were silent.

"You killed-" Newt choked.

Chuck ran over to him and higged him tightly, whispering that Thomas was his hero.

Thomas felt a pride rise in him, and an even fiercer protectiveness rise for Chuck, and rolled in it.

He liked the warm feeling he got whenever Chuck was happy.

Made him feel accompished that he made his little brother happy.

He instantly hugged Chuck back.

Once Chuck had gotten off of him - per Clint's nagging, Chuck still hovered, however, just even closer than before now - he started to talk again.

"How about this?" He asked rhetorically. "I, along with Alby and Minho, will go over to the MedTents, if - and only if - you check Alby first. You have to skip over me, get Alby and Minho checked, then me," I resolved.

"Dude, I just said it, you probably have more - and worse - injuries than both of us combined," Minho said, clearly becoming exasperated.

"Okay, we all know one day of tranining in the MedTent, doesn't make me an expert of any kind. So, either we do it that way, or I treat myself," I said with an innocent smile.

"Oh, bloody hell, you aren't giving up are you?" Newt asked.

"Nope. Besides, I'm just the Greenie. Shouldn't you guys treat them first?"

I didn't let them answer and by the looks on their faces, I should be glad I did that.

"Anyway, unimportant, let's just get to the MedTents," I said quickly.

Clint looked a little upset but quickly started to help me up nonetheless.

Then Newt shot him a sharp smile and took switched wih Clint. I think I saw Clint roll his eyes but I couldn't be sure because he turned to help Alby before I could see clearly.

I realized Minho had come to help me on my other side and quickly started to protest.

"Hey, hey, hey! Why are two of you helping me instead of the one with a hurt leg?" I asked.

"I saw that fall Greenie. It was at least 15 feet, and I heard the echo from where I was. Even I know that isn't a good sign," Minho said, exasperated.

They finally got all three of us into the MedTent, Alby in a seperate area-type-thing than me, Minho, and Newt.

I swear, for a doctor, Clint enjoys seeing me miserable a lot.

After the check-up - which was very awkward considering I had to take off my shirt and Newt and Minho wouldn't stop staring - Clint soncluded my hip was just a really bad bruise, my hands were just scraped up, and my ribs were just a bit strained from all of my jumping.

Hs finally let me out, along with Minho and Newt who insisted upon staying along with accompanying me to lunch.

We were eating lunch while I was trying my best to ignore the two sat across from me, especially Minho, when an alarm sounded.

Every Glader looked confused.

I grabbed Chuck before he ran and asked what it was.

"It's the Greenie alarm," was all he said.

I ran alongside him, getting over to The Box, somehow getting in the front.

The Box came up and Newt opened the doors, jumping in.

He gasped and the Gladers started shoving to get a look at what it was.

"What is it, Newt?" Minho called out from beside me.

"It... It- Their two girls...," Newt finally got out.

Everyone gasped and started to whisper to each other, now trying to get an even closer look.

Newt stood, and now I had a clear view of them both.

I slightly blanched and Newt and Minho noticed.

"I think their dead," declared Newt.

Just then the girl opened her striking blue eyes and sat upright.

"Thomas!" She gasped.

Then she fell back down and showed no signs of waking up again.

Everyone was now either watching Thomas, or the other girl to see if she woke up.

The other girl was slightly tan with a heart shaped face and wavy, dark brown, shoulder-length hair.

Then her eyes snapped opened quickly.

They were a deep brown and she didn't say anything, she just kept her eyes open, searching the crowd of boys, tensing more as her eyes get farther... Until her eyes rest on Thomas.

The she gradually untenses and just keeps eye-contact with him.

And for whatever reason, Thomas can't look away either.
