Luna jolted upwards holding her throat, as she gasped looking around frantically. Seeing she was alone in her bed, perfectly safe. Pulling her hair to the side while slowly catching her breath. Pulling the covers off herself and letting her feet hit the cold floor, bringing her arms up and stretching them. It was the same thing. The same dream she's been having for years. Her hoping out of that blue portal and being trapped alone in the 60's. Out of all places the 60's?
Splashing a bit of water on her face and getting ready, waking up each of the kids checking on them making sure they were actually awake before leaving them be. "Alright kids, we leave in ten, make sure you have everything and wrote what you need on the grocery list cause-"
"If it's not on the list I'll forget to get it." All the kids said in unison knowing how bad her memory was.
"Smart-asses," She joked, shaking her head, "Anyways, I wouldn't be in my office, but I'll be there at the end of school." She informed them, fixing her sweater to make it cover her tattoo. Turning to the fridge and taking the yellow notepad down, smiling lightly at the different handwriting, from each of them. Walking to her purse and placing it in it, checking for her small notebook. Opening it and checking off her morning list seeing she had done everything with missing or forgetting anything, smiling proudly at herself.
"Everyone got everything or do we need more time?" She asked after placing the book back in its place. Turning around to face all the kids in the living room, Cheryl and Scott were searching through their bags, Jennifer sat on the floor as Robin was finishing her braids, and Daniel was...nowhere to be seen.
"Damn it, where's Daniel?" Luna asked, sighing out of frustration as this almost always happened.
Most of them shrugged, or mumbled an 'I don't know' but Jennifer knew. "Said something about forgetting something in the car and was searching for it?"
"And that was how long ago?"
"Fifithteen or so minutes ago?" She said unsure of herself.
Luna's eyes widened before running up and throwing the door open and running out. Seeing none other than Mr. Austine gripping Daniel's arm, "Get the fuck off of him!" She yelled quickly walking up to them, ripping the old man's arm off the teenager.
"Don't you touch my husband." Mrs. Austine holding their rat of a dog.
"How about your dumbass husband doesn't touch my minor son!" She stood in between the two staring both of them down, holding her arm across Daniel.
"Luna it's okay," He said quietly just trying to get this conversation over with. "No it's not, inside now." She ordered in her 'mom voice' as he nodded walking to the porch where the others were standing watching the show. Just waiting for Luna to snap and send them flying.
"Never. Touch, My. Kid's. Again."
"Or what? You'll call the police on us?" The woman scoffed at the thought, "Like they'll believe you with your band of misfits over us,"
"No," Luna started to say with a fake smile, "I won't call the cops, no, I'll make sure you won't cause I'll do it myself. Now get the fuck off my property before I force you off it and trust me my kid's are hoping you don't move so I can kick your ass."
"Honey, she's scaring me." She heard his wife whisper clenching his arm. "I know honey, we're leaving." He said tapping her hand keeping an eye on the black haired woman as the two walked away.
Watching them closely and making sure they fully left before walking back towards the house. Everyone but Daniel awing in disappointment as Luna didn't hurt anyone. "Get y'alls shit and let's go." She told them as they all did so, walking inside but Daniel stayed looking down at the ground.
"Are you okay?" She asked as he nodded, "Yeah, just still not used to all this." He said softly as she squeezed his shoulder. "I understand, but when those things happen you need to figure out when and where's a time for fighting and when you need to ask for help." He nodded slowly rubbing the red hand print of his forearm.
"Here I got something for that," She said, reaching inside and going to the small closet to the side. Opening it and pulling out the black bandana and going back to as some of the kids walked past and around them. She gestured for his arm as he held it out as she wrapped the bandana around it. "Is it too tight?" He shook his head showing it was okay, "Thank you, Lu." He said smiling.
Her face fell as he noticed as his brows frowned, "I didn't do anything, did I?"
"No," She quickly said, smiling shaking her head, "No, it's just...Someone I knew used to call me Lu. Someone I cared deeply for."
"Ow,"
"No, it's okay. Just tell everyone to meet in the car," She said, grabbing her bag that she dropped at the door before walking towards the car. Getting in and starting it as she got everything settled.

A high pitched scream was heard as a blue haired girl fell out of the sky. Groaning when she hit the ground, she didn't want to break her legs so she let herself fall and hoped her spine wouldn't get bruised in the process. Her head hit the rough ground sending waves of pulse like pain through her skull. While her body was screaming for any rest, after fighting excluding all her energy for fighting and the use of her powers.
Her powers!
Looking up at the closing blue portal that she knew from the countless times Five has teleported. "No!" She shouted holding her hands out to it fighting it to stay open but she ended up losing that battle.
"Five! Diego!? Klaus!? Allison?!" She shouted as the portal closed as her eyes kept widened with fear. "Anybody at all?!"
She breathed heavily staring up at the sky, where the now gone portal was. Waiting for it to re-open and her family jumping through and saving her. Hell she would Luther over no one right about now. Her eyes wandered a second as someone's shadow moving on the roof caught her attention. Seeing the back of a man dragging a large old camera behind him. But it didn't look old, and not a knock-off vintage version of one that they actually made this year.
"What the fuck?" She muttered to herself, looking back at the sky one last time seeing nothing. Turning around to face the street and getting stopped in her tracks. Seeing vintage cars driving past as people walked past the little alley way she was in wearing bright, nice, 60's themed clothes.
Walking a bit farther out and looking around, confused and shocked about what was happening. Looking at the brick building next to her and touching it, feeling the different curve's and roughness that bricks normally were.
"Okay... That knocks out this being a dream, but then again I could be dead." She thought out loud to herself tilting her head to the side, "Again,"
Looking across the street and seeing a newspaper machine. Running out of the alley and into the street and almost getting hit by a car. Looking at the car and hearing the yelling telling her to watch where she was going, not even bothering with what happened. Walking up to the machine and getting look after look, stare after stare. But again she didn't care, only wanting to see what she was dreading seeing. Having to bring her hand up to block out the bright yellow and orange sun that was starting to set. And her eyes widened as her jaw clenched.
January 14th, 1960.
"Five, you son of a bitch." Seeing the date of the headline was "The Dallas Morning News". Her heart beat started to pick up as she looked around realizing she was a biracial, bisexual, blue haired woman. And it only got worse when she wiped her nose with the back of her hand, seeing the bright red catching her attention. "No, no, no, not right now." She muttered turning around as her mind started to race with what she was about to do. And to make matters worse her memory was starting to drift away from her.
She gasped snapping upwards from her desk, panting as she realized it was just a dream. Well a dream of a memory. It was her first day, her first haunting minutes that haunted her. The fear and confusion she felt had never truly left. Only lighten.
Dragging her sleeve down covering the black umbrella tattoo before looking at the clock seeing she was about to go on her lunch break. Packing whatever she needed, checking her bag to make sure her gorcey list was still in the bag.
Closing and zipping up her bag, walking out and locking the counselor's door. Walking towards the lockers, finding Robin's and unlocking it, placing the key to the counselor's door on the hook and shutting it. She smiled before it quickly faded, 'Was it Robin or Cheryl?' She thought about it trying to remember which girl needed to finish her project. Sighing lightly, having to let it go or she wouldn't be able to meet with Allison like she promised.

"Alli!" Luna shouted walking into her house using the spare key she gave her. "I brought all the ones you said too from Coleman's!"
She heard the excited steps coming down the stairs and towards her. Allison squellaed hugging her tightly as she took a copy from her arm. "Page one, paragraph five, line two." She told her excited sister who was beaming with joy.
She flipped through her the booklet before starting to read the paper aloud, "When asked about the Southern Justice Coordinating Committee's upcoming threat to demonstrate during President Kennedy's visit to Dallas, White house press secretary Pierre Salinger responded by saying--"
"As the president said earlier this year, the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man...or woman, are threatened." She finished as the two smiled widely at each other.
"This is wonderful, thank you Luna," She gushed, hugging her again. "Of course, it's an important thing for us all."
The two started catching up, sitting around her kitchen table with a mug of coffee. Allison nodded along to what Luna was saying before making a strange face. "Lun, do you mind?" She asked, gesturing to her cup.
She smiled knowing it probably went cold, she always like her coffee hot while Luna liked it both ways. "Hand it over." She held her palm open as Allison did, watching as her hand turned a light red, "Done,"
"I'm not keeping you from work, am I?"
"Lunch break, I was dropping these off and then going to the store." She told her, searching through her purse making sure she had her notepad. "Still using those notepads?"
"Yup, I have bad days, but lucky the kids help me whenever I need it." She said truthfully. She had told Allison about her memory issues after having a bad day where she couldn't remember where she lived. Remembering how she was when Allison first arrived and couldn't talk she had to help her. It was originally her idea to tape up the important things inside her closet to help jog her memory when no one else was home. Or help with the things the kids didn't know about her.
"I just worry that someday you'll wake up and forget everything." She said honestly as Luna looked down at her cup noticing her hands turning blue. From her palms to her finger tips, as a thin sheet of ice covered the top of her mug. Her cup getting a thick layer of cold frost around it.
She pressed her lips together, watching the mug. It was one of her deepest fears, one day she would wake up and not be able to remember her own name. Forgetting that she didn't belong in the 60's. What her favorite color was. What her favorite food was. How old she was. Where she got her powers. Who helped her control her powers. "Trust me I'm just as scared of that idea as you are."
Luna looked up at the clock sighing lightly, "I gotta go, but I'll see you tonight at the meeting?" She said standing up whipping her frosty palms on her things.
"Yeah, you okay to drive?"
"Yeah, yeah I'll be fine. Sorry about your cup."
Allison smiled shaking her head, "It's fine, I've dealt with your accidents before. If need be I'll call you for help."
"There's a reason Ben always called me Flame Princess."
🌇
"All right, now homework better be done before I get home. And that door better stay locked, no letting anyone in for any reason." Luna remind leaning against the open driver's door watching as all her kids got their things and were going inside.
"How long is the meeting?"
"No, Scott for the last time you can't go. Allison loves that you're wanting to help but you're too young." She told him as the boy sighed disappointed he couldn't go with.
"Hey Luna," Robin asked, getting her attention as she hummed in response. "Just so you know Cherly needed the key not -- does anyone hear that?" She started to say but cut herself off hearing running water coming their way.
Luna's eyebrows frowned looking at the white fence where Daniel and Scott were leaning against. Seeing a large wave of water coming over the fence, seeing the shiny ring around a water hose as the bright green color could be seen. Holding her hands up and holding the water in place, "Inside now!"
Robin and Cherly grabbed the two boys from the fence as Jennifer had run up to the door, unlocking it. Luna threw her hands down as the water went straight down. Storming around the corner to Mr. Austine who was holding a hose. "What the fuck!"
He quickly turned with a shocked and confused expression on why the water stayed in the air. How it went straight down and not spray out like it was supposed to. "How did you--?"
"Have you lost your goddamn mind?" She yelled staying on the sidewalk as she knew they couldn't make her move if she was on the public sidewalk. "You're very fucking lucky that I saw it was water from your fucking hose because I would be beating your ass right now! For all I know that could've been acid!" She shouted not caring about the dirty looks she was getting from her neighbors because she was full of rage and anger.
He was speechless, confused and scared by the sudden effect looking her up and down seeing nothing in her hands and yet they were steaming. "Think about doing some dumb shit like that again and I'll driwn you myself!"
And with that she stormed back to her house. Leaving small black footprints making a path in the green grass. All stepping out of the way seeing her hands and footprints steaming. Hearing her bedroom door slamming shut as they all look at one another knowing one of them had to call Allison to let her know Luna was going to be late to the meeting.
