• 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 •

i struggled to squirm out of karls arms. his arms were basically latched around my waist and theres pretty much no way that hes gonna let go anytime soon. i mean, thats what i thought. "maribeth, klaas!" a familiar voice called. klaas and alex stopped tickling me and klaas' eyes lit up as he looked in the direction of the voice. "daddy!" the tiny gremlin yelled. karl let me go and helped me to my feet.

i started walking over to my older brother, who now had klaas squeezing him in a hug. karl and alex followed behind me. "garrett!" i called and gave him an one armed hug. "uhm, these are two of my streamer friends, karl and alex." i pointed to the two standing behind me. "karl, alex, this is my brother garrett." i smiled at the three.

"nice to meet you, i guess you already met klaas." garrett said, gesturing to the kid who was now on the ground, chasing a butterfly. "yeah, hes quite the runner." alex spoke, panting. "so, uh, what was happening over there?" garrett asked. karl scratched the back of his neck. "they conspired against me." i said with a smirk.

"ah, tickle attack, huh?" garrett asked, picking klaas up, who was bouncing up and down with his arms in the air. "i gotta get home, make supper, and get the gremlin in the bath. you need a ride, mari?" i thought for a moment. "uhm, no, its only a half an hour walk." i smiled at him.

he nodded and turned around to his car, opening the door and putting klaas in his booster seat. "love you, sis. dont get kidnapped!" garrett yelled before getting into his car and driving off. "so that was my older brother." i turned to alex and karl. "hes pretty cool. how much older is he?" alex asked.

"well, hes twenty five. and he fits into the stereotype of annoying older brothers." i joked. karl and alex both laughed. "im supposed to be streaming in a bit, so im gonna head back." alex said.

"have fun with that, duck boy." i smiled at him. alex gave me a hug before backing up, ready to leave. "if you wanna hang around, ill stay." karl looked over to me. "well, i was planning to stay for a bit longer." i answered.

"okay, you simps have fun." quackity said before turning around and leaving. karl and i walked over to a bench and sat down. it had been over two hours since we all got here and the sun was in its early stages of setting.

"yknow, when i came here today, i didnt expect to meet you. i didnt even know you lived in north carolina." i chuckled. "im actually from the netherlands. born and raised in amsterdam. i moved here last year." i smiled over to him.

"whats it like in the netherlands? ive always wanted to visit." he asked. i pulled out my phone. "well, its really nice. after celestia and i graduated, we moved to holland together. we lived in a fairly decent sized cottage." i opened up my gallery and showed karl a few photos of some sights from back home.

"does celestia still live there?" he questioned. "yeah! she was planning on flying down soon to visit." i quickly checked the time then turned my phone off.

we sat and talked for another hour and at that point the sun was almost fully set. it wasnt dark out, it was actually really pretty. the sky was a mix of blues and pinks, making it look a lot like cotton candy.

"the sky looks beautiful." i commented. "it really does. it looks like cotton candy." i smiled.

"wanna listen to some music?" i asked suddenly. "sure!" karl exclaimed. i turned my phone back on and went to apple music, shuffling my music. i turned my phone up and the sound of 'can i call you tonight' by dayglow blasted throughout the now empty park.

i stood up and put my hands out in front of karl. he looked at me with a questioning look on his face. he didnt move or say anything. i grabbed his hands and pulled him to his feet. "dance with me, dummy." i let go of his hands and turned the music up louder.

we started jumping around and vibing to the music, forgetting about the sunset. eventually, he grabbed my hands again and we started swaying to the song. a light blush grew on my cheeks as we did so.

after a bit of time we sat down on the grass and just talked as the music played in the background. i picked my phone up and skipped to 'what you know' by two door cinema club. i put my phone back down on the grass without locking it.

i stared up at the sky and got lost in it for a few moments. "smile!" karl yelled. "huh?" i looked at him to see my phone in his hand as he took a few pictures of me. after he took a few awkward pictures of me, i began to pose a bit, just so the pictures were post-worthy.
