~ Chapter Twenty Five ~
Dusk stirred in her bed, slowly realizing she was not in the same spot as when she first fell asleep. How did I get back in my bed? Before she could think of a possible answer, the sound of a bell ringing came from the hallway, making her jump. "Wakey wakey! Eggs and Bakey!" Klaus's high-pitched voice rang throughout the hall.
The raven got off the bed and slowly walked towards the door, opening it to see him continuing to ring the bell without a care in the world. "Morning, songbird!" He chirped. "Morning, Klaus. Can I ask why you are ringing that bell at seven in the morning?" she groaned, rubbing the tired out of her eyes. "Well, I need everyone to get downstairs. It's important," He explained. "Give me five minutes. I'll be down there," she responded before shutting the door to get changed.
Klaus went to the lower-level bedrooms, hoping to wake up anybody sleeping there. Luther's bedroom door creaked open, and he came out, wrapping a blanket around his lower body. "Oh, there's the man. Someone pulled a disappearing act last night. What mischief did you get into?" Klaus questioned. "W-what? I-I didn't," Luther stuttered. Klaus looked over his shoulder, peeking into the bedroom to see a woman in his bed. He waved to the girl, and Luther immediately shut the door, embarrassed that his brother saw a naked woman there.
"Oh, come on, don't be so shy, big guy. You needed it! Not a lot of ladies on the moon, I assume. And all that pressure resting on those big hairy shoulders," Klaus egged on as Luther begged him to stop. "Wait... Was this your-" The look on Luther's face said it all. Klaus's jaw dropped, and he started cheering at his brother, "popping his cherry." "Now you're going to have to marry her!" he teased. "Would you keep your voice down?" Luther hissed. "Hey, you know. I remember my first. Wait no, I don't. Oh wait, I do! I think it was-,"
"Klaus, what is it?" Number One barely whispered, not wanting his brother to embarrass him further. "Oh, the important family business. Meet me downstairs, okay? And Luther, no dilly-dallying, all right? Chop, chop!" Downstairs in the kitchen, Klaus poured cups of coffee, passing one to Luther before Five came into the room and took it from his hands. Almost immediately, he gagged at how bitter the taste was. "Jesus. Who do I gotta kill to get a decent cup of coffee?"
"Wait, where's Diego and Allison?" Dusk asked. "Alright then, this is the closest thing to a quorum that we're gonna get," Klaus sighed after a moment of silence. "Now, listen up. There's no easy way to say this, so I'm going to spit it out. I conjured Dad last night," Everyone looked at him, stunned by what he had said. "You said you haven't been able to conjure anyone in years," Luther pointed out. "Yes, I know, but I'm sober. Ta-da! I got clean yesterday to talk to someone special. And then ended up having this conversation with dear old Daddy himself," Klaus explained.
"Does anyone have any aspirin?" Luther groaned. "Top shelf, next to the crackers," Dusk answered, pointing to the shelves behind her. "This really happened, I swear!" Klaus insisted. "Okay, fine. I'll play. What did the old man have to say?" Five said sarcastically, as he sat up in his chair. The junkie explained to them their father telling him he was a failure, making all the siblings roll their eyes in disgust. The dead bastard always has to criticize, doesn't he?
"He did mention something about his murder, or lack thereof because wait for it... He killed himself," Klaus finished. Dusk's eyes widen as she started to wonder whether or not Number Four was telling the truth, given his history of lies. "I don't have time for your games, Klaus," Luther sighed, getting up from the table. "I'm telling you the truth, Luther! He said it was the only way to get us all home again,"
"No. Dad wouldn't just kill himself," Luther protested. "Ah, you said it yourself. He was depressed. Holed up in his office and room all day and night," Dusk pointed out. "No. There weren't any signs. Suicidal people exhibit certain tendencies, strange behaviors," "What? Like sending someone to the moon for no reason?" Klaus lightly scoffed. Luther was getting more angry and upset by the minute, and everyone in the room could see it.
"Master Klaus is correct. Regretfully, I helped Master Hargreeves enact his plan," Pogo admitted coming into the room. Out of everyone in the world, Dusk's adoptive father was the last person she expected to do something so drastic and permanent. "So did Grace. It was a difficult choice for both of us. More difficult than you could ever know. Prior to your father's death, Grace's programming was adjusted so that she was incapable of administering first aid on that fateful night,"
The raven felt a knot in her stomach and ran towards the sink, throwing up into the garbage disposal as the chimpanzee carried on. "Sick bastard. Why didn't you tell us the truth?" she snapped, wiping her mouth with her inner arm. "Your father hoped that being back here, solving it together. Would reignite your desire to be a team again," Pogo answered. "And to what end?" Five asked. "To save the world, of course,"
Luther could feel every muscle in his body tighten with rage, and Dusk's eyes slowly began to turn red with anger. "First the Moon mission and now this. You watched me search for answers and said nothing. Anything else you want to share, Pogo? Any other damn secrets?" Luther growled. "Yeah, spit it out!" Dusk joined in. "Dusk, Luther, calm down," Klaus tried to intervene. "No! We will not calm down! We've been lied to by the one person in this family we all trusted! How could you do this to us?" Dusk snarled. Pogo looked guilty, and he tried to explain that it was their father's dying wish and that he had no choice.
"There's always a choice. But you chose to lie to us. I can't even deal with this right now," Dusk shook her head as she left the room.

Luther and Five also left, still in disbelief by Pogo's admission of his lies. Klaus sat down at the table, Ben's ghost sitting next to him. "Well, that went well," He said sarcastically. "I told you this was a bad idea, Klaus," Ben sighed. "Well, I had to tell them sooner or later. I mean, wouldn't you?" Ben realized that Klaus did have a point there. Even if he didn't tell his siblings the truth, Pogo probably would've brought it up anyway.
"I should probably go check on Dusk," the junkie stood up from his chair and walked to her room, finding her at the piano playing one of her songs. One of her fingers slipped onto the wrong key, startling her and making her frustrated. "Damn it!" She sighed. Klaus knocked on the door, getting her attention. "Oh, Klaus," she said. He asked for her invitation to come in, and she nodded.
She scooted over until she sat towards the edge of her bench, giving him enough room to sit with her. "You alright? I saw you throw up down there," He asked, placing a comforting hand on her left shoulder blade. "Yeah... I didn't expect Pogo to admit the truth about Dad. And I never thought he would do that to himself," She had always been so sensitive to the topic, and even thinking about it made her body shake. Klaus gently rubbed her back, and she leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Hey, you two! Get up. We're going!" Five said, bursting into Dusk's room. "Uh, who permitted you to come in here? And where are we going?" Dusk asked, shooting him a dirty look. "To save the world," he answered. "So, Pogo said Dad killed himself to get us all back together, right?" "Yeah, so what?" Klaus asked, turning around on the bench.
"It got me thinking. I had to jump to the future to figure out when it happened, but Dad can't time travel. So how'd the crazy bastard know to kill himself a week before the end of the world?" Before Klaus could answer, Five told him not to say anything, that the question was purely rhetorical. He then went on saying that their whole lives, he told them that they were going to save the world from an apocalypse.
"Yeah, but I always thought he just said that to scare us into doing the dishes," Dusk said as she slipped her shoes on. "The fact remains, his fakakta plan worked. We all came home. We might as well save the world," Five sighed as he looked at the raven and junkie. "Wait, am I hearing this correctly? The three of us are going to save the world?" Dusk tried to clear up. "Ideally no, but I gotta work with what I've got," Five replied as the three walked out into the hallway, seeing Diego rush into his bedroom.
"Where are you been, Numbnuts?" Dusk questioned. "Jail. It's a long story," he responded. "Where's Luther?" Five inquired, saying that they hadn't seen him since breakfast. "Two days until the world ends. He picks a great time to drop off the grid," Klaus sighed. Diego came out of his room, clipping one of the buckles of his clothing.
"Guys, Allison's in danger,"
