~ Chapter Sixty ~
The thought of exposing Sebastian to his friends and family consumed Dusk's every thought as she tossed and turned on the couch. She knew exactly how she would do it, what she would wear, and the words she would say. A wicked grin formed as she imagined the looks of horror from everybody, especially Sebastian's mother.
No doubt she'll beat him with a chair. That woman does not mess around with disrespect toward women. She giggled softly, eventually feeling her body give into slumber. She must've slept for an hour or two before the sun peeked through the windows. As she rubbed the tired out of her eyes, the raven could hear sobbing noises.
As her vision adjusted, Dusk realized it was Allison, who had left the previous night to find her daughter. "Alli, I didn't hear you come back. Are you okay? How's Claire?" She asked, sitting at the edge of her sister's bed. "S-she's gone... Claire's gone," Allison whispered, burying her face into her pillow. "I should've known something like this could happen. But I completely ignored it, and I paid the price,"
Number Eight rubbed her sister's shoulder and whispered words of comfort. She couldn't imagine what it was like to lose a child, but she knew that the pain was unbearable. "I'm so sorry. Can I get you anything to eat?" she offered. "No, just leave me alone..." Reluctantly, Dusk stood up and walked towards the door, but as she was about to open it, she turned around again double-checking Allison's response.
"Just go!" Allison shouted. Without another word, Dusk took the elevator to the main floor for breakfast. The smell of freshly cooked eggs, bacon, muffins, and the sound of blenders caught her attention. She walked to the counter, and as she grabbed a plate, a boy around the age of twelve swiped it from her. "Excuse me, little boy. That was mine," Dusk said calmly, as she did not want to scare the kid. "Well, it's mine now!" he smirked before walking to one of the booths at the far end of the section.
Well, excuse me for being polite. No matter, there's still plenty more. The raven picked up another plate, piling a small stack of mini muffins, fruits, donut holes, and an orange sunrise mimosa clutched in her other hand. "Morning, honeybee," Klaus smiled as she set her plate on the table. She softly kissed his cheek, feeling a bit of stubble tickle her lips.
"Guess what? Diego's got a delinquent son!" he chuckled. "Really? And where is he, if I may ask?" Dusk questioned, glancing at the pouting Diego. "Allegedly my son," he clarified, pointing to the far-end booth, they all watched as he helped himself to one of the jelly pastries. It was the same boy the raven had come in contact with only moments ago. "Wait, that's your kid? Who is the mother?"
"Lila," Diego answered, making everyone at the table's jaws drop. "W-wait a second, Lila's here? Since when?" Five inquired. "Was. She dropped him off along with a ginger girl, then bolted," Ginger girl? The image of Victoria briefly flashed before Dusk's eyes, and almost immediately, she knew Diego was talking about her. "I don't much care for those two," Klaus commented.
"Well Klaus, technically they're family," Five sighed sipping his mimosa. "Are you serious? They were trying to murder us, like... yesterday!" Not Victoria, Klausy... Five continued before asking Diego if his ex-girlfriend was coming back. Diego replied, "She goddamn better be because we've got more important things to be dealing with right now!" The little boy looked up from his plate as his father's voice caught his attention.
"This is just one of the consequences that come with getting your noodle wet," Dusk pointed out. "Listen firehead, I'm not in the mood to deal with your shit today!" Klaus and Five glanced at each other, wondering if either of them should intervene. To Klaus, it was quite entertaining to see his sassy girlfriend go at it. Whereas, Five saw it as a damper on his relaxation.
"He's cramping my style. I need to react at a moment's notice!" Diego complained. "You're his dad! And by the way your acting, you'll be turning into Reggie soon enough. Bitter... Neglectful... and shitting yourself in a nursing home with no one to help or visit you," It was at that moment that Diego wanted to tackle her, but just as he was about to do that, Five spatial jumped between them, hissing for them to stop. "I'm getting too old for this,"
The raven continued to eat her breakfast, reviewing her plan to ruin the wedding. Never before had she felt such a spitefulness surge first thing in the morning, but she loved it. "Stanley, did you get your food yet?" A voice rang a bell in her head, pulling her back to reality. She caught sight of familiar red hair and a dark outfit consisting of a black turtleneck, skirt, and knee-high boots.
Dusk's gaze continued as the redhead sat down next to the little boy, now identified as Stanley. "Snagged you a plate as well, Auntie Vic," Stanley replied. Auntie Vic? Oh my god, it is her! "Hey guys, where's Luther?" Vanya asked, approaching the table. "Who cares? He's probably out for... a run," Diego replied. The raven looked up from her plate, immediately noticing Number Seven's new haircut, as did Klaus who complimented it.
"So, I talked to Marcus last night-" "You talked with the enemy by yourself? Who elected you, Vanya?" It was dead silent for a moment as Number Seven looked at the siblings. "It's... Viktor, actually," he clarified. "Who's Viktor?" Diego inquired. "I am. It's who I've always been," A sense of pride washed over Dusk. She was happy that he had found his true self, she could only hope the rest of the siblings would accept him for who he was as the silence continued to linger.
"Is that an issue for anyone?" He questioned. "Nah, I'm good with it," Diego responded. "Me too. All cool, buddy!" Klaus smiled, popping a piece of food into his mouth. As Viktor's gaze shifted to Dusk, the raven got out of her chair and embraced him ever so tightly and sweetly. "I'm so proud of you," She whispered into his ear, making him grin. "Thanks, sis," he replied before they pulled apart.
"Truly happy for you, Viktor. But last time I checked, you don't speak for this family," Five spoke up, returning the topic to the Sparrows. "It's fine, okay? Marcus gets it, he doesn't want a war any more than we do," Diego shook his head, claiming that he and the others were trying to homicide them. "So did Lila, and you had a kid with her," Klaus smirked. "That's not the point!" Diego objected.
"We made a deal. He'll give back Five's briefcase then we're gonna get out of the timeline. We're meeting later today for the handover," Viktor explained. Klaus sighed with relief, while Dusk looked skeptical about the situation. "That's a rookie move, he's playing you. But maybe we can use this to our advantage. We turn it back on them and wipe them out," Diego planned. Viktor groaned, telling his brother he was not going to do anything to risk another brawl.
"Guys, we're not going anywhere! This is a perfectly acceptable timeline," Five interrupted. "Tell that to Allison, who's upstairs grieving her daughter that doesn't exist here," Viktor protested. "Not to mention we've been replaced by a bunch of ice-wielding blobs and birds," Dusk mentioned. "Take a look around, geniuses. There's no doomsday, no apocalypse, the sun is shining. That's all that matters, we're done messing with time. And I am officially retired,"
Five slightly spun in his seat before walking to the bar for another refill. As he walked past, both Dusk and Klaus caught a whiff of his aftershave. "I'm concerned, aren't you?" Klaus whispered to her. "Yeah, I've never seen him so relaxed," she nodded. "Hey listen, I'm gonna head out. There's some business I need to take care of, so will you be alright?" Klaus nodded his head, assuring her of his welfare. With that, Dusk kissed his cheek before going upstairs to get ready for her ex's wedding.

Within a few hours, Dusk was prepped and ready for her revenge. On the top floor above the check-in and bar were shops and other amenities. She glanced at herself in the bathroom mirror, admiring the bright orange "revenge dress" she had selected.
Her dark hair had been curled and hung right at her shoulders, and her makeup was natural, yet had a tinted dark lipstick that made the entire ensemble pop. According to last night's eavesdropping, she learned Sebastian and the girl's wedding was to begin at sunset in a vineyard. And just like the same engagement ring, it was the same plans the former couple had for their wedding.
As the elevator opened, Dusk's golden heels clicked with every step she took. She walked past the front desk, and just as she was about to head out the door, she saw Victoria again, only this time with her back pressed against the wall, seemingly staring into nothingness.
Dusk looked at the sliding doors and then back to Victoria. The guilt was really getting to her, and she feared that if she didn't apologize now, there was a chance Vic could be gone again before another opportunity arose. Deciding the wedding could wait, Dusk walked to where Victoria was standing, clearing her throat to get her attention.
"Hey, Vic."
