Written: Christmas of 2020

It was Christmas Eve night, and you and your boyfriend sat on the couch, drinking hot chocolate.
"You know...I feel like we should watch a movie." He randomly Said, breaking the silence that there was as you savored your chocolate.
"Well...which one?" You asked.
"It's A wonderful life." He said.
"Aw, come on...that's like, the only Christmas movie you ever watch." You Said.
"It's a classic!" He said. "What do you wanna watch?"
"Elf!" You Exclaimed. "The best Christmas movie of all time!"
"Really?" He asked.
"Yes, really."
"You watch that one all year long!" He said.
"Cause it's amazing."
"It's a wonderful life is better."
"Is not."
"Is too."
Suddenly, all of the lights went off, leaving the Christmas tree looking dark and dull, as well as the whole house.
You and Brendon exchanged glances.
"You did it!" You exclaimed.
"Oh, come on.." he said.
The both of you looked around.
"But really, what's going on?"
You got off of the couch and blindly made your way over to the window. You pulled back the curtains, and gasped.
"What?" Brendon Asked, coming over to you. He looked out the window, and his jaw dropped open.
"Well," he said, after a few moments of silence. "Don't think we'll be going anywhere for a few days...or weeks."
You looked around outside. The snow had drifted to cover your door, so you were definitely locked inside. But hey, what would be so bad about that?
"Well...What should we do to keep ourselves busy?" You Asked.
"Too bad we can't watch It's A Wonderful Life." Brendon Said, pouting.
"Elf!" You Said.
He growled a bit.
You went back over to the couch and plopped yourself down on it, Brendon doing the same.
"Wanna play a board game?" You Asked.
"Did you say 'Bored game?'" He asked.
"Never mind." You grumbled. "What do you wanna do?"
"Well...it's a little cold."
"And?"
He snuggled up against you. "Wanna cuddle?" He asked, doing puppy dog eyes.
You smiled. "That sounds awesome."
You grabbed a blanket and your hot chocolate, then laid your head on Brendon's chest.
You took a sip of your cocoa. "This is nice."
He nodded, then kissed you on the head. "You know, when the power comes back on, we can watch Elf."
"You sure? Cause we can watch It's A Wonderful Life. I was just giving you crap." You Said.
"Why don't we watch both?"
"Sounds great."
He kissed you on the head again, and the both of you fell asleep a little while later.
