In the wake of the birth of Visenya Targaryen, Princess Rhaenyra's younger sister, Westeros is about to enter an era of upheaval.

And yet, despite her best efforts to stay above the quarrels and intrigues, the turmoil that is tearing her family apart eventually catches up with her.

As tensions between Rhaenyra and Alicent Hightower escalate, Visenya finds herself inexorably drawn in their wake, driven by her own grudges against certain members of her family. Torn between her loyalty, her desire for peace and her personal convictions, she knows deep down that she will eventually have to choose sides. Yet she clings to the comforting illusion that she can somehow keep herself and her family out of these conflicts.

On the eve of civil war, every choice seems to involve some form of betrayal. Can you be faithful to your ideals without betraying those you love ? What kind of loyalty should you choose when all your loyalties seem doomed to shatter something essential ?

Refusing to be a mere pawn in the ambitions of others, Visenya dreams of a life guided not by fire and blood, but by the serenity she has found in the family she has built for herself. But with the Dance of the Dragons looming on the horizon, she must face the inevitable : stand by and watch her family descend into chaos, or act to protect what she believes in.
