"Jake! Wait up..." You panted, trying to catch up to him but, he didn't want to talk to you at the moment.

"Just let me talk!" You said through your panting, as Jake turns around, seeing his gloomy face.

"Why? So you can say bad stuff to my girlfriend again?"

"No! I'm telling you the tru-"

"You know what, j-just shut up, you don't even have evidence."

Jake walks away to the alley, going home and leaving you on the street alone.

Earlier this morning you saw Jake's girlfriend making out with his teammate in the soccer team.

You were best friends with Jake since you were little, so you wanted him to know as soon as possible and not get hurt.

But, Jake loved his girlfriend dearly, not to mention knowing about your romantic feelings towards him, he took it that you were being selfish, telling filthy lies about his girlfriend to have him all to yourself.

But that truth was, you just didn't want the guy you loved get hurt...

You walked to your house down the neighborhood, unlocking the door to see your 1 year older brother, Sunghoon, layed down on the couch using his phone.

"Hey lil sis, did Jake hyung walk you home?"

"Not today.." You mumbled to him, as Sunghoon tilts his head, noticing your sad aura.

"Something wrong?"

Sunghoon was a great brother, he always cheered you up when you're sad, you were more than grateful to have him.

"Jake just pushed me away."

You poured water down a glass, sitting down beside Sunghoon on the couch.

"What happened?" Sunghoon asked.

"Its just that...I saw his girlfriend making out with his teammate in the soccer team, and I tried telling him but he denied, telling me I was selfish, thinking about how I like him, shoving me away before leaving me alone.."

Sunghoon's eyes turned serious. As if someone had killed someone he loved. Sunghoon loved you so much, he would do everything to protect his little sister.

But the fact it was one of your, AND HIS, childhood best friends was making him angry. Sunghoon always said to his friend group, 'Never make my little sister upset.' But look at you now. Upset.

"I knew Sunoo's step sister was fishy..."

Yes, Jake was dating Sunoo's step sister. Sunoo, being the sunshine he was, he wasn't jolly around his sister. He found his sister mean, rude, selfish, bratty and spoiled.

Sunoo assumed Jake would teach his sister good manners since Sunghoon was a very good guy, but i guess not.

"I think he's mad at me now..." You mumbled, as Sunghoon slings his arm around your shoulder, head bumping both your heads.

"Don't be sad little sis, I'll talk to Jake and Sunoo tomorrow, he'll get a taste of his own medicine for making my baby sister upset."

You giggled as Sunghoon ruffles your hair, making your mood brighten up.

Thanks to your brother, maybe Jake might take into consideration about what you said.

You walked to the girls locker room in the gym, sticky from the sweat covering you.

Pushing the door open, seeing a familiar girl on a familiar guy's lap, her hands on the guy's nape, making you pause from the sight.

It was Jake's girlfriend and his soccer teammate.

You stayed quiet as possible, feelings eyes on you. You grabbed your gym bag from your locker, leaving the room immediately.

You felt like telling Jake again, but he might just push you away just like yesterday.

You found your way to your class, seeing Jake seated in front of your seat, as usual.

You sighed and walked passed him, smiling at him and expecting to get a smile back, but he just ignored you and kept scrolling through his phone.

You felt hurt, but that was okay. You understood Jake.

Whilst being in class, you didn't know but Jake's thoughts of what you said rambled inside his head.

His girlfriend was really acting a little off the past few weeks and even Jake himself noticed it but chose to ignore.

There were seconds his thoughts told him, 'what if what Y/n was saying was right?' But no, he thought he loved his girlfriend so much to not even think about that.

Class eventually ended, and as you turned around to ask Jake if he would want to eat lunch with you, he wasted no time to dash out of the classroom.

You sighed and went your way to the lockers to put your things away before heading to the cafeteria.

Closing your locker with your feet dragging you to the cafeteria, in the middle of the hallways, you got pulled back by your hair, your body turning to facing towards another figure.

It was Jake's girlfriend.

"Agh! What the heck are you doing?!" You shouted at her, flinching from the pain you were feeling.

"Are you walking to the cafeteria to tell Jake?!" She answered back.

"Tell Jake about what?!"

"Oh don't lie to me Y/n, I know you saw me."

You knew what she was talking about now, and people started surrounding you, filming you, and others just continued their day.

"I was going to eat lunch! And even if you didn't pull my hair, I'd still tell Jake about what you're doing behind his back!" You groaned, it was like your scalp was being pulled out severely.

"Listen here you cunt, tell Jake and I'll break whatever relationship you have with him."

You shouted as she pulled your hair harder, definitely that was going to leave a little red mark.

With you trying to grab her wrist to lose her grip on your hair, her flying hand was about to hit your innocent face when a male stopped her actions.

"What are you doing?!" Sunoo shouted, pulling his step sister by her waist to keep her away from you. Thanks to Sunoo, a rush of relief was sent to your whole body now that her grip on your hair was lost.

"Let me go! I wanna slap her!" She tried walking more towards your figure, but another male stopped her.

"Are you okay?!"

Everyone gasped, including Sunoo. You, were left surprised. Was he really asking his girlfriend if she was okay, when you were the one who was clearly hurt.

"Dude, are you serious-"

"You think, it's okay cheating on me, you think it's okay trying to hurt my best friend, are YOU, okay at all?! Are you crazy?!" Jake shouted at her, causing her to flinch and possibly feel small.

"I-I didn't cheat on you-"

"Oh yeah? Then what are you trying to tell Y/n not to tell me? There's no other reason other than cheating."

His sentences left everyone speechless, that was smart of him everyone thought.

"I-I...b-but-"

"B-but? But what? Enough. We're over."

Jake grabbed your hand and dragged you to the nurse's room, sitting you down on one of the empty beds.

"Stay here." Jake said, before going to the registrar to ask for an aid kit.

You sat there, thinking about what Jake said. He was smart enough to know what happened, it has you gulping.

Jake came back with an ice pack in his hand, taking a small revolving stool and sitting in front of you.

"Here, let this stay on your head, it will help the pain for some time."

You slowly took it out of his hand, flinching before putting it on the spot of your head where your hair was pulled.

"About yesterday..I'm sorry I didn't believe you." Jake said, making your eyes go from your lap, meet his.

His eyes looked liked his apology was sincere.

"I-It's fine-"

"I-I'm sorry I wasn't there earlier when she pulled your hair. I'm sorry I called you selfish, I-"

You caressed his hand, smiling softly at him.

"I said it's fine. It already happened, you can't do anything about it."

Your soft smile warmed his heart. What did he do to deserve such a kind best friend?

"Is there anything I can do to repay you for what I said?"

"Hmm..."

You thought and thought, when a lightbulb appeared on top of your head, smiling at him.

"What?" He chuckled, tilting his head at you.

"Can I court you?"

Jake was surprised. Usually, guys would be the one asking that. But coming from you, he knew you liked him, and he didn't bother.

But there were times you would make his heart flutter, and he was more than grateful to have you in his life.

"I-It's okay if you don't want-"

"No, it's fine. You can court me." Jake replied, making your eyes glisten from happiness.

"Really?!"

You asked him as he nodded. He was done with his ex girlfriend. At this moment, he forgot about her. All he was thinking of was how your courting would go.

"Thank you!" You hugged him, making him softly smile, caressing your hair.

He never thought he would get courted by his girl best friend the same day he broke up with his ex.

But he was grateful you courted him. Cause in no time, his feelings towards you grew, and he couldn't be happier that you were now his girlfriend, his partner, the love of his life.
