Chapter Thirty-Three

Traced that during my break from writing this :)

"We cannot afford to waste anymore time." Harrison said as I swayed back and forth in my swivel chair, sipping on my cherry slushee just like Cisco was as I frowned at him.

"We've barely wasted time at all, Harry. Mainly because you've been pushing us to work our asses off. Wait, let me rephrase that... you've been shoving us down the stairs to go faster and work harder." I retorted as Cisco nodded in agreement, both of us slurping our slushees in unison.

"I don't know what you two have been sipping since I got here, but Barry needs to get better, stronger, faster. We need to train to prepare for Zoom." Jay said as I scoffed quietly.

"Oh I see, you haven't had your coffee this morning." Cisco joked as he slurped the slushee again.

"I had my coffee this morning. Don't slurp." Harry said in annoyance as Cisco and I looked at one another, slurping obnoxiously as Harry's face went dead straight. "Don't. Don't." slurp "Don't." Extended slurp. "It amazes me how the two of you got a job here." Harry said bluntly as I smiled and shrugged, the computer starting to chime.

"Finally. I've been waiting all week for something to happen." I said with a hum as I set my slushee down and rolling forward to the computers.

"Oh this sounds interesting. Runaway chemical transport truck heading south on Kester. You got this Barry?" I asked as he nodded, zipping in and out of the Cortex.

"Hey Cisco, I need to show you something." I said, standing up as Caitlin made a small "oh" noise and followed me and Cisco into the med room.

"I've been working on some glasses/goggles for you so you that resemble what we used when we found out Wells was... the Reverse Flash." I said as I looked on for a moment, recalling the memory before shaking my head. "Anyways, here. I added a wavelength trigger to stimulate the fear receptors in your brain. Then I took what you already had to induce slow-wave sleep, upgraded it to get you to stage-four sleep." I said with a smile as Cisco took the glasses.

"Didn't know you knew how to do that." Cisco said as I clasped my hands together and shrugged.

"Well I bet you didn't know that I'm also a Ravenclaw, but we don't know everything do we?" I said with a small smile as Caitlin and Cisco frowned.

"You're a Ravenclaw?" Caitlin asked as I nodded.

"Thought you'd be a Hufflepuff." Cisco muttered as I crossed my arms and frowned. "Anyway, what am I supposed to see?" He asked as I shrugged.

"I don't know, I've never tried this before." I responded as he huffed, slowly putting on the glasses. "We need to find Eobard. So uh... think of him... or something." I said looking to Caitlin and shrugging.

"Oh-ho-ho, yeah man. I'm in full on vibe-mode right now." Cisco said as I smiled in triumph.

"What do you see?" Caitlin asked as I guided Cisco to a chair.

"I-I don't know it's hard to explain. It's different events. Different events in time." He explained as I knelt beside him.

"Just concentrate on the Reverse Flash." I said as he nodded.

"Okay. I see him. Now what?" Cisco asked as Barry zoomed in, now in his normal clothes, looking at us with confusion.

"Picture him with Christina McGee." I said as Cisco nodded slowly.

"Woah... where the hell am I? Guys- NO!" Cisco yelled before ripping off the glasses, scaring me into standing up.

"Cisco what's wrong?" Caitlin asked as Barry looked at me, raising a brow.

"She's dead." Cisco said as I hand slapped over my mouth.

"Dr. McGee is dead?" Barry asked as Cisco looked at him.

"Harry and Daisy have been helping me hone my powers to find Zoom, and then we ended up using them, finding The Reverse-Flash, and that's when I saw him kill her. And then he left. " Cisco informed us as we all frowned.

"He left? What do you mean he left?" I asked.

"McGee built him some kind of speed machine and he ran into and got flung back to the future." Cisco said as Caitlin turned to me.

"You need Tachyons to do that. We can track their location once they've been activated." Caitlin said as we all walked into the cortex.

"What else did you see Cisco?" Barry asked as Cisco shrugged.

"There was all sorts of weird tech everywhere. There was a clock." He said as I stopped him.

"What time did the clock say?" I asked as he tried to think.

"9:52. I-how is that relevant?" He asked as I looked at Barry and smiled.

"It's 6 o'clock right now." I answered.

"Are you telling me I can see the future?" Cisco asked skeptically.

"That's exactly what I'm telling you. We have less than 4 hours to find Eobard and save Dr. McGee. Let's do it."

30 minutes earlier...

"Spivot. Hey." I said as the elevator doors opened to reveal Patty by the desks.

"Oh. Hey Daisy. Didn't expect to see you here. Barry isn't-"

"Yeah he's uh.. at S.T.A.R. Labs, helping a friend of mine with something." I said as Patty frowned.

"S.T.A.R. Labs? Didn't know you had friends there." She replied as I shrugged.

"Well I work there often so I would hope I have friends there." I joked, looking at the file in her hands. "Still cant seem to leave the files alone, can you?"

"Oh.. yeah just following up on a hunch." Patty said with a small smile as I nodded.

"You're gonna miss all the action, huh?" I said as she sighed and nodded. "You were a great cop, Patty." I complimented as I noticed a small blush creep up onto her cheeks.

"Thanks, Daisy. Means a lot coming from you. I know you and Barry used to work together." Patty said as I sighed and nodded. I won't lie, I really missed working at CCPD, but I felt it wasn't really the best job.

"Speaking of Barry..." Patty said as my eyes widened. "He kept telling me there was stuff he couldn't share with me and I've been going a little crazy trying to figure out what that stuff is." She said as I raised a brow.

"Well, Barry isn't the best at sharing. Even with me sometimes." I admitted as she nodded.

"Well neither are you." She pointed out as I frowned, crossing my arms in confusion. "I mean, Barry has said he helps you out at S.T.A.R. Labs more and more."

"Well yeah, when he has a few extra minutes to spare." I lied. This wasn't going where J think it was, was it?

"I mean, the whole time I've been working here you never mentioned it to me, but then I realized why. I went through some of Barry's old cases. All of them involved The Flash saving the day with details that Barry couldn't have possibly even known." Patty said as I hummed.

"That's weird..." I said quietly as Patty nodded.

"Yeah, it... It is weird. The only thing that does make sense is that Barry is The Flash." Patty said as I snorted, forcing a laugh.

"Oh god, Patty have you seen Barry run? It's like a newborn deer trying to walk on ice." I said as she sucked in a breath and chuckled.

"You know, when I started this job, Daisy, Joe told me to learn how to lie to do it. You're a terrible liar." Patty said as I frowned.

"Patty, if I was lying, you'd know. Barry isn't the Flash. I know that for a fact." I lied once again as Patty sighed.

"Whatever you say, Daisy. See you around." Patty said before walking away.

I sighed, showing my hands in my leather jacket before walking into the little office area and knocked on the door to Captain Singh's office.

"Come in, Daisy." Singh said as I sucked in a breath and walked in, shutting the door as I saw Singh take a bite of a donut.

"I see you're living up to the stereotype." I joked as he looked at the donut and chuckled very quietly.

"You said you wanted to talk to me. What about?" Singh said, gesturing for me to sit down as I did.

"I Uh... wanted to talk about possibly getting my job back?" I said as Singh stopped writing, looking at me through his lashes before lifting his head up, sucking on his teeth for a moment.

"Don't you work at CCPN at the moment?" Singh said as I shrugged.

"Honestly, I never wanted the job. I just needed it because I moved back here, and uh- there were other reasons why I needed it but that's not important. I miss this job." I admitted as Singh sighed.

"I'll need to talk to the D.A. About getting your job back, Daisy. But... If you get this job back I want you here when you are needed." Singh said as I smiled widely and nodded.

"Yes. Yes of course! Thank you, Captain. Thank you so much." I replied, silently bursting with excitement as I got up and walked out, quickly making my way to S.T.A.R. Labs.

Present Time

"No sign of Tachyon activity." Cisco said as I groaned.

"Cisco, we are running out of time." Caitlin said as I nodded slowly.

"It'll take a few minutes for the device to reach full power once it's activated, but when we find it, you're gonna have to get there fast." I informed everyone, typing into the computer, Caitlin whispering to Barry for a moment.

"Barry. Um.. I need to tell you something." I said as Barry frowned, following me out of the cortex.

"What's up?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"Let's just say there's a chance Patty knows you're the Flash." I said as his eyes widened.

"What?! How?" He asked as I raised my hands up in defense.

"Don't ask me! She's really smart. Maybe if you just tell her-"

"No! I can't have another person be used against me. Just you knowing about me being the flash is putting you in danger."

"Barry. I'm a speedster too. I can handle myself now." I reassured him as he nodded. Alarms started blaring, causing me and Barry to run back in.

"Tachyons! 87th and Avenue J." Cisco yelled in triumph as I leaned over the computer.

"Must be one of Mercury Labs' off-site facilities. Hack in there to se-" Barry started before I smiled and leaned back in my chair.

"Already hacked into the security feed." I said with a serious face as he nodded. "Barry hurry." I said as he nodded again and disappeared.

"It's charged. You can go now." Dr. McGee said to Eobard. "You said you'd release me."

"Yes, I did. Didn't I?" Eobard said as he walked towards her. I stood up quietly, my eyes flashing between screens.

"Barry he's gonna kill her!" I yelled as Caitlin slapped a hand over her mouth. Suddenly, as Eobard went to stab his hand through McGee's heart, she was gone.

The portal was destroyed moments later, Barry now in front of Eobard.

"That was my way home!" Eobard yelled as Barry scoffed.

"You aren't going anywhere." Barry told him with a grin as the security feed started to cut out, causing me to frown.

"Barry? Barry can you hear me?" I asked, but only received static. "What's going on?" I asked before receiving my answer as S.T.A.R. Labs went dark, a Yelp escaping Caitlin.

"The power must have gone out." Cisco said as I turned and frowned at him.

"No shit Sherlock. Come on we need to get the power back on." I told Cisco as he grabbed his tablet and followed me with a flashlight.

"Jesus how can you stay here late at night? It's terrifying when it's dark." I said as Cisco shrugged.

"I try to not remind myself that there are dead bodies in the particle accelerator that could turn into zombies and eat me alive at night." Cisco said as I stopped and glared at him.

"You just had to put that image in my head, didn't you?" I asked she gave me an apologetic look.

"Sorry." Cisco responded as I groaned and continued walking to the breaker room.

Opening the strangely large metal doors, I pulled out my own flashlight and shining it ant the light switches.

"Jesus Christ there's so many." I said as Cisco's mouth dropped.

"Yeah I've never been in here before because we've never dealt with a power outage this bad, so I have no clue which switch is to which room." Cisco said as I glared at the words, my mouth dropping.

"WE HAVE A BREAK ROOM?!" I yelled as Cisco gasped, peeking over my shoulder to see what I was seeing.

"No way! I've worked here for years how did I not know about a break room?!" He asked as I frowned.

"Because the only places you are ever in are the pipelines, Cortex, and 'Casa De Ramon' or whatever you call your man cave." I remarked as Cisco made an offended face, while I started flicking a bunch of switches.

"I don't just go there... sometimes I go to the time vault to- never mind." To be honest, I wish I had asked Cisco what he was going to say, that way I could have prevented my inevitable death.

But, I guess he doesn't like the idea of telling me that Zoom was going to kill me, and really...

There was nothing anyone could do to stop me from dying.

I've been working on this chapter since I last uploading, which was almost a week ago... I've been having MAJOR writers block with this book, and I'm trying my best to keep it up to date...
