Anakin's POV
Padmé's apartment building shook violently - following the sound of a large explosion. Both of us fell to the floor while everything in her apartment vibrated like we were in the middle of a quake.

"What the hell?" I attempted to push myself back up to my feet; but quickly fell back down following another explosion, and a quake that came almost instantly.

What the fuck is going on?

"I'm sorry," Padme cried as she shot her head up to look at me from her position on the floor, "She made me do this," She shook her head, tears steamed down her red cheeks, "She said she would destroy all of Naboo if I didn't do as she said. I couldn't let my people die Anakin - I'm so sorr-"

The end of her confusing apology was interrupted by yet another loud bang, and the building shook. This time the ceiling cracked; making me more nervous than I already was.

"You have some serious explaining to do Senator," I shouted bitterly over the loud sound of another loud impact, "But first, we have to get out of here - this building is going down." As much as I wanted her to make sense of her words, both before and after this started; our lives were currently in danger and I needed my priorities for to be straight.

I pulled the com up and spoke to Mando, "Mando if you can hear me; the building you left me in is under attack. I don't know by who," I paused when I felt another shake, and I quickly grabbed ahold of Padmé's couch to pull myself up to my feet, "Please get here as soon as you can." I prayed that he heard me as I grabbed Padme up from the floor, and pulled her outside onto the balcony. I peaked down, but I was too high up to see anything except for smoke. And not just from the building we were in, but smoke can be seen coming from the surrounding buildings as well - like the city was under attack, "What the hell is going on-"

"It's her." Padme spoke with a sniffle.

I turned my head to look at her with furrowed brows, "It's who?" I asked for clarification.

"Lilith." She revealed, and I felt my heart drop to my stomach - impossible, "She threatened me and Naboo if I didn't hand her over to you; she wants you dead." She spoke with guilt-filled tears in her eyes.

I immediately shook my head in denial, "You're lying," I growled angrily, "My (y/n) is dead, and even if she wasn't - she wouldn't be trying to kill me, she loves me."

The last time I saw her; she listened to me, she talked to me, she believed me, and we even shared a beautiful moment - there's no way she would go back to hating me. She has no reason to, she knows the truth now.

Padme is just lying for Sidious to throw me off, I know it.

"Anakin I swear on my home planet, she's alive." She pleaded for me to believe her with tears swelled in her eyes, "She wanted me to lure you here - and she's not (y/n) anymore, she's Lilith."

"You're a liar!" I shouted in anger; accidentally using the force to throw Padme off of her feet, and back into her apartment. I instantly felt guilty and I was about to help her when I froze at the sight of another person standing in the apartment.

The sight in front of me pushed me into complete, and I was having a hard time believing it was real - even though it was right in-front of me.

"Oh but she's not." The figure spoke. I eyed her dark appearance as she stood next to Padme who was laying on the floor with fear in her eyes. Her eyes however, were a gruesome amber that caused my stomach to twist into a knot.

"(Y/n)?" Tears pooled at the bottom of my eyes.

So she is alive? But how...and what is happening right now? Why does she look like this; and why couldn't I feel her before if she's alive? I can barely even feel her now; like she isn't the same person I once knew.

She looked like (y/n), but felt like a complete stranger. And even though I was more than happy to see her alive, there was something about her that warned me to keep my distant - despite how bad I wanted to run to her and kiss her.

My mind felt like it was going to explode due to how confused I was.

She tilted her head, "Not quite," She pressed her boot onto Padme's neck before looking down at her. I stayed frozen in place with my back to the railing, "Thank you for your cooperation Ms.Amidala, your planet is safe." She added pressure to her neck and Padme began to struggle for air, "But you're not." She chuckled amusedly.

My eyes widened once I snapped myself out of my daze and realized she was about to kill her, "Wait sto-"

But I was too late.

Lilith added more pressure and Padme let out one last sharp scream, before the sound of a sickening crack took its place.

There wasn't time for me to do anything to help her, she was gone before I was even able to raise a finger. I may have not been Padmé's biggest fan, but I sure as hell never wanted her to die.

Streams of tears slid down my cheeks as I watched Lilith remove her boot from Padmé's neck with a low laugh, "Why did you do that? And what the hell happened to you (y/n)?" I looked from the body, up to her eyes that were already on mine.

She slid her boot against the floor as if she was scraping off a bug she stepped on, "I just didn't like her very much," She began to walk towards me, "As for what happened; I survived your little attempt."

I furrowed my brows as my confusion only grew, "My what-"

"Shush," She held her index finger up to her mask, silencing me, "You know," She dropped her hand down, "I was initially going to just blow this building to pieces with you inside of it; an easy win. But then I felt you, and I just couldn't resist following the pull up here - you really are as powerful as they say aren't you?" She tilted her head to the side as she eyed me up and down; her proximity getting closer with every slow step she took.

Why is she talking to me like she has no idea who I am?

I took one step closer to her, pulling my back away from the railing; she eyed my movements before snapping her gaze back to mine, "Princess, please tell me what's going on - what happened to you?" I asked sincerely, trying my best not to look at the dead body of someone who was once my friend; murdered by the love of my life.

She grimaced, "What the hell did you just call me?" Her eyes were narrowed and she was now only about three feet in-front of me.

"Princess?" I stated questionably, she's acting as if she's never heard me call her that before.

She shivered, "Don't fucking call me that, it's nauseating." She flung her hand forward and I shot backwards.

My back slammed against the metal railing; causing me to groan in pain. She was suddenly close enough to push her body into mine, digging my back into the railing.

I was frozen in place - hardly breathing - and I could feel her mask touching my ear, "My turn."

(Infliction of pain; not much detail)
Before I could even ask what she meant; I screamed in agony as I felt an intense burning pain, a feeling I've been cursed with experiencing before.

She ignited her lightsaber into my stomach. My heart had shattered when I realized that Padme was right - she wants me dead. But why? I thought.. I really thought I brought her back.

I leaned forward as I groaned in pain, "Hurts, doesn't it?" She taunted, her mask grazing my ear.

(Infliction of pain)
I gripped her arm with my gloved hand and cried as I felt her twisting the blade inside of me; bringing me more unbearable pain, "Why-" I choked.

"Maybe you're not so powerful after-all," She raised her head to look at me, her free hand wiping my blonde curls away from my sweaty face, "Because this, was way too easy - you literally just let me walk right up and stab you." She laughed as she pulled the blade out of my stomach, and with one quick push - I felt myself falling through the air, plummeting to my death.

I just wanted to be close to you. To know that you were real.
