Anakin's POV
Slowly, I opened my tired eyes that were currently burning after getting merely an hour, maybe less, of sleep. The sound that woke me up was an alarm blaring, and it caused my ears to ring painfully.
The machine that sat in the corner of the room opened, revealing Lilith in a meditative position. Her eyes shot up, and the amber glow blazed over with anticipation. She lifted her gaze, and locked it with my own, "It appears we have company." She spoke with a slight devious smirk.
She stood up from her position with her mask in her hand, and she placed it securely over her face, "What do you mean; who's here?" I asked.
She didn't answer my question, and moved around the room, changing into her leather armor; giving me a view I hadn't seen in a long time. Although now would definitely not be the time to look at her this way, but I couldn't help it, she's still the love of my life.
Her eyes lifted up to mine as she zipped her boots on, "Enjoy the show?" She teased; standing up straight, and strutted towards me while I remained quiet, "Well I'm about to give you another one." She raised her now gloved hand and placed it on my cheek gently, and stroked my cheek bone with her thumb, "The plan isn't over just yet baby."
Just as I was about to ask what she meant, the door to the room opened, and she immediately dropped her hand down; placing it on the hilt of her lightsaber, "Let him go, Lilith." The familiar voice growled.
She turned around to face him, a low chuckle could be heard escaping through her black mask, "I was wondering when you were going to show up Obi-Wan. I did make following me, and getting in here; awfully easy for you."
Now I see what she meant; she knew he'd follow, she knew he'd try to come for me. I suddenly felt a heavy pain in my chest; terrified that the two people I love most are about to fight in front of me, and one might die by the others hand.
She stepped to the side and Obi-Wan finally came into my view, his eyes landed on me and they became enraged when he took in my condition, "I had hoped that the little girl we found all those years ago—the first one I grew to love as my own, was still in there somewhere," He turned his attention back to her, his eyes watering, "But (y/n) would never do something as cruel as this," He gestured to my tortured state.
"(y/n) is dead." She responded bluntly, pulling her lightsaber from her belt, and Obi-Wan watched her moves with caution, "You all killed her when you abandoned her."
He went for his lightsaber as well, and held it out in preparation, "How would your parents feel if they saw you this way?"
She froze; furrowing her brows in confusion, "What did you just say?"
Confidence flashed through his eyes, and I didn't need to read his mind to know what he was trying to do, "Qui-Gon Jinn and Katherine Winters, your parents; murdered by Sidious."
She immediately shook her head in denial, "You're lying, Sidious is my father."
"Look in my eyes little one, and know that I'm telling the truth, and that he's been lying to you," He stepped closer to her with his lightsaber tightly in his palm, but he held back on igniting it; hoping that he could somehow get through to her. Even I was starting to have hope, "He killed your mother when you were a baby, and took you away from her. That's when Master Yoda and I found you two years later; terrified and covered in injuries given to you by him no doubt." He took another step closer, and she remained in the same spot, her eyes filled with confusion and uncertainty, "Then Sidious sent Darth Maul to find you, and your father died trying to protect the secret of your whereabouts."
She remained silent as his words visibly swirled inside of her mind. Then she shook her head once again, "No, stop with your lies," Her voices almost came out in a beg, "Sidious said you would try and get inside of my head; I'm not falling for it."
My hope began to slowly evaporate, she was so far gone. Sidious had his claws in her mind so deep that it's going to take a miracle to save her.
"Sidious?" Obi-Wan uttered in disbelief, "He's the one getting inside of your-"
"I said stop!" She shouted; losing control of her emotions, and the walls around us shook violently. Even the restraints holding me, unlocked, and I fell to the floor with a painful thud.
I heard the sound of lightsabers clashing together, and I looked up and terror filled my heart when I saw them engaging in a battle; with Obi-Wan having the upper hand due to her unstable emotions.
Ahsoka's POV
With a hood over my head, I maneuvered through the hallways—hardly running into any clones—which seemed odd, you would think they would be patrolling the halls, especially after an alarm. It made me uneasy, but I pushed the feeling away and I followed a familiar trail. Obi-Wan went the opposite way of me to follow Lilith's signature; he believes that wherever she is, that's where Anakin will be.
I almost went with him, but something about what I was feeling with this particular signature, seemed familiar; and I held a small amount of hope in my heart. Obi-Wan was reluctant to let me go, but I hardly gave him a choice and practically ran from him; knowing he would choose to go after Anakin instead.
I turned a corner with my head down, and bumped into a hard chest; the signature feeling even stronger. My eyes widened as I slowly looked up and met a pair of yellow eyes that were glaring down at me.
Cal shot his hand forward and gripped my neck, lifting me off of the floor so my feet dangled in the air, "Looking for me?" He asked with a head tilt as he used his free hand to open the closest door to us; throwing me inside of it, and I rolled across the floor till I hit the back wall.
"Cal-" I tried getting up on my own, but I felt myself being pulled up to my feet with the force; then I was shoved aggressively against the wall.
Cal was walking into the room with his hand raised, and he used his other one to shut the door behind him, "Do you have a death wish or something?" He growled; stepping up to me, our noses practically touching while his amber eyes bore into mine with a look of deep anger.
"Maybe," I answered breathlessly.
He groaned in annoyance; placing his hands on the walls next to my face, trapping me between them, "Why are you here Starlight?"
"For you," I answered honestly, his expression softening slightly, "I can feel the conflict inside of you."
"And?" He snorted, "You think I'm going to just agree to come with you, like it's really that easy?"
"That or you kill me," I responded; swallowing nervously, "Because there's no way in hell that I'm leaving here without you. I turned my back on you once before; not this time." I can feel it, the real Cal; he's in there.
On the ship, it was nearly impossible to feel the boy that I love. But right now, Cal's presence was strong. I'm not sure why, but I didn't care about the why, all I cared about was that he was there.
He inhaled, and exhaled heavily before speaking, his cold breath fanning my skin; giving me goosebumps, "Just let me go Ahsoka; it's too late to save me."
"No," I stubbornly replied; my eyes watering, "I can't handle the pain of not having you with me, so if you refuse to leave, then please kill me."
"So be it," He growled; tightly gripping my neck once again, and squeezing, cutting off my oxygen, "Is this what you wanted Star?" He squeezed even tighter.
I didn't fight it even though my body was begging me too. I just remained as still as I could and kept my eyes locked with his. Mine were watering more than before from the lack of air, and his were watering as well; pain flashing through them, "I love you." I choked out when I felt myself becoming dizzy, and my eyes were slowly beginning to close.
His grip immediately loosened, and I coughed before breathing in a deep inhale to gain back all of my lost oxygen, "How could you possibly love me Starlight?" Cal placed his palms on my face, and gently stroked my cheeks with his thumbs. His emerald eyes were full of regret, "After everything that I've done, including what I did just now; how?" He asked with genuine confusion in his tone and eyes.
After taking a few deep breathes, I responded, "Because I know the real you." I leaned forward, feeling my lips brush against his; he inhaled sharply and I could feel the conflict within him intensify, "I loved you then, and I still love you now, there isn't a single thing I wouldn't forgive you for."
He scanned my features, his expression filled with pain, and longing, "I love you too Star, but-"
I cut him off; pressing my lips to his like I've been dying to since I lost him; all I've ever craved was his touch. If he's capable of still loving me, then he's capable of fully coming back to light; that's what I believe, and I refuse to believe anything else.
His hands that were on my face, tightened their hold on me, and he kissed me back urgently. It was like the training room all over again; the place where we shared our first kiss. Our lips moved in perfect sync, and I could feel every emotion he was feeling through this one act; his love, his self-loathing, his pain, his regret, and his desires.
"Come back to me Cal, I'm begging you, I miss you so much." I whispered when our passionate embrace ended; my bottom lip quivering as I spoke with desperation.
He placed his forehead against mine, "I miss you too-" He froze, his eyes were looking in my direction, but it was as if he was looking past me. His emerald gaze shifted slowly back into a deathly yellow glow, his anger resurfacing, "Wait, was this the plan?" He asked in a growl; locking his terrifying eyes with mine, "For you to distract me with your lies; using my own feelings against me while Lilith gets attacked?"
With wide, panicked eyes, I shook my head. Desperately hoping for him to believe that everything I just said was the truth, "Cal no-"
He cut me off by gripping my neck once again, and tightening his hold painfully, "You liar." He sneered, his expression filled with betrayal, "I can feel it now, I can feel her dying. You better hope she lives, or this won't end well for any of you." He pressed two fingers to my temple, and everything went black as I felt myself falling.
I almost had him.. then I lost him all over again.
Anakin's POV
Helplessly, I watched them fight around the room; breaking furniture, scorching the walls and floors, and nearly killing each othe. I wanted to get up, but my body was weak, and even if I did get up, there wasn't a single thing I could do.
"I don't want to do this," Obi-Wan backed away from her while keeping up his defense.
"Oh but I do." She growled, advancing towards him once more. Her moves were sloppy due to her heightened emotions, and I had a dreaded feeling that this wasn't going to go in her favor. I tried getting up once more, but I fell back down due to the sharp pain shooting throughout my body. She really did a number on me.
After a few moments of me waiting for the pain to subside, I shot my head back up to them when I heard a scream, it came from (y/n).
Obi-Wan cut through her mask, making it split in half as it fell to the floor. She was now on her back, with her lightsaber away from her sight and reach; breathing heavily.
"It's over Lilith," He stood over her with his lightsaber pointed to her neck.
"Don't!" I shouted to him, praying he wouldn't finish her off. But he ignored me, without even looking in my direction.
She glared angrily at him, until her face fell and she began struggling to breathe. Normally she'd last longer without the mask, but with how heavily she was breathing, the pain came quicker. Obi-Wan looked completely confused as he eyed her frantic state. Her eyes darted to her mask that would be of no use to her, her breathing sounded raspy and uneven; her lungs begging for the filtered air.
She was dying.
I looked around the room rapidly; my eyes landing on an oxygen tank in the far corner. Completely Ignoring the pain I felt; I pushed myself to my feet, and grabbed it to bring it over to her. I don't care who she is now, or what she did to me; I refuse to let the woman I love die.
Pushing Obi-Wan away; I hovered over her and quickly placed the mask over her face. Her breathing began to go back to normal, and her surprised eyes were locked with mine; like she didn't expect me to help her, "I wasn't lying when I said I still love you Princess." I stroked her cheek with my free hand.
"Anakin." I heard Obi-Wan call to me, and I turned around to explain to him what was happening to her. But the sight I was met with filled me with dread.
There was a crimson light sticking out of his abdomen from behind, and it disappeared as he fell to the floor with a groan; revealing an angered Cal behind him.
"Obi-Wan!"
