he was looking into a mirror, the perfect image of himself was staring back at him. The same twisted smirk and darkness coated the man's expression. His fingers grasping onto the knife with such ease as it coated itself with blood, such a substance he knew, he'd never truly escape anytime soon.

relationships were meant to be peaceful and beautiful, and yet why did Luke always find himself getting the worse of it. He had gone down a long line of boyfriends his entire life, each never good enough. They were like vessels of nothingness, always taking away what they could from his very being.

He'd of course never allow them to withhold any sort of knowledge or power within the relationship. He'd slice their throats himself if they stepped over the line of authority. His closet was full of such skeletons he couldn't even keep track of his own lies anymore.

He needed a fresh start, after many long months of nothing but utter agony and loneliness. He finally packs his belongings and just drives until he finds a place to settle down. He was a wanted man by many, even if they never could whisper aloud what he was, a monster waiting for his prey.

He'd pounce and pounce into the arms of anyone he could and he'd snap the second things didn't go his way. What's another skeleton to add to his little collection of secrets? he's got patience and all the time in the world to find the one. And he finally did find the one, he caught his eyes through the window of that bookshop so fast.

Joe Goldberg, he of course was a man who held secrets himself, one's Luke would figure out eventually, not that it really mattered anyways. Not when they were so desperate for love and affection. The world has an odd way of making Luke's life miserable and beautiful all together, he was going to make this work, even if it ends with him being alone.
