Chapter 6
OtterJae and Markypoo chat
OtterJae:
Mark!
Mark! I need your help!
Markypoo:
With what?
OtterJae:
I need a date to this dinner my mother said I had to attend with a plus one.
So I was wondering if you want to be my plus one?
Markypoo:
I'd love too, Youngjae.
OtterJae:
Oh my god, yay!
Markypoo:
But I have already made plans.
OtterJae:
Oh, um, that's okay. I'll just ask someone else.
Markypoo:
I'm sorry, Jae.
OtterJae:
Don't apologise, it's fine.

Mark's plans have been settled since last night. Jackson's handsome friend had indeed gone and texted Mark. The two had been talking non stop for a few weeks.
They had arranged a date for today, and Mark decided it would be best if no one found out about it. He knows the boys wouldn't judge, but word travels fast and can be given to the one person he didn't want finding out. Jackson.
Of course Mark had developed a liking for the man, but it seems as if it was a one-sided love. Mark just couldn't sit around all day waiting for Jackson, so he decided it would be best for him to see other people.
He was conducting an experiment. Mark being the mad scientist, and Kim Namjoon, the loyal test subject.
Both boys were dressed casual, as Namjoon wanted to have a basic first date, instead of treating him somewhere fancy. Mark appreciated the little gesture, due to him not having expensive clothes like Bambam.
"I feel like we should go to this diner outside the campus, then we can just walk around the city until I drop you off at your dorm. Very simple." Namjoon suggested.
That's all he had been doing since Mark had met with him outside his music class. Jackson didn't seem to be in the class, so it was a bonus for the brown haired boy.
"Sounds great." Is all Mark said back.
Namjoon chuckled and intertwined their fingers together. It was enough to make the foreigner tint red on his cheeks.
The pair soon arrived at the diner, and saying that it was crowded was a bit of an understatement. Cars were piled across the streets, people all hopping out and walking inside.
Not taking the time to reevaluate the area they should eat, Mark had begun pulling the tall man into the food place. Of course all the eyes had turned to them, it was mainly confusion displayed on their face, as they didn't know the boys.
One set of eyes however, did notice the first man. He stepped out in front of the crowd, wide eyed and mouth agape.
"Mark?"
Mark was as shocked as the man. It was Choi Youngjae, his friend who had asked him to come be his plus one to this dinner. Mark was about to open his mouth, but then it was snapped shut when he saw who Youngjae's plus one was.
The one person he didn't want to see, Jackson Wang. He stood with two cups in each hand, a shocked expression on his face seeing his friend with Mark.
"So this was what your plans were, huh?" Youngjae joked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Mark chuckled nervously, nodding his head, a response to the question. Jackson stared at the tangled fingers of the pair, looking away annoyed.
Namjoon took a step forward, making sure he stood next to his date loud and proud.
"Yeah, Mark and I organised this last night." He clarified, showing his pearly whites.
"I'm glad you're getting out of your shell, Mark."
Mark rolls his eyes at his bubbly friend, scoffing.
"Thanks, Jae."
Youngjae took a cup out of Jackson's right hand and nudged his shoulder lightly. His big eyes just stayed on Mark, a slight disappointment being shown in them.
"Because you cancelled, I asked Jackson." Youngjae explained.
Mark nodded his head, not meeting Jackson's eyes. He would just feel guilty, and he didn't want to ruin his night when it had just begun.
"Looks like you guys are busy here, so we'll just find somewhere else to eat." Namjoon stated, starting the back up to the door.
Mark gave one last smile to Youngjae and turned around, following Namjoon. A hand had flipped Mark around by his shoulder.
There, he was met by Jackson standing approximately two feet in front of him. A deep sigh exits his mouth and he smiles at the older boy.
"Stay, I'm sure Youngjae wouldn't mind."
"Are you sur-"
"It's fine, Mark! Please bring Namjoon as well, there's plenty of food to go around!" Youngjae's voice boomed.
Mark laughed at his friend, letting go of his dates hand, walking to Youngjae and giving him a forgiving hug for not attending with him. To which Youngjae replied with his contagious laughter.
Mark broke the hug, turning around to see that both Namjoon and Jackson weren't present behind him. Before Mark could go looking for them, Youngjae had pulled him to meet some of his family members.
After about twenty minutes there were no signs of the friends, Mark kept glancing at the door, waiting to see if they would come back in. But it never happened.
"Youngjae, I'll be right back." He whispered into his friends ear.
"Be safe!" He cheered, joining back into the conversation he was having.
Mark was making his way to the bathroom, when two voices from the kitchen exploded into a heated argument.
Both voices sounded very similar so, being the nosy bird he is, he opened the kitchen door. Jackson had Namjoon pinned against the wall, glaring daggers at him.
Mark clears his throat and both boys head snapped to the sound. Namjoon smirked at Jackson, which wasn't noticed by Mark.
The American folded his arms across his chest, obviously angry at Jackson. He trudged over to the two, pulling Jackson away from his date.
"I can't believe you..." Is all Mark could muster.
Jackson opens his mouth to respond, but Mark holds his hand up stopping him, he shakes his head at the boy with sorrow in his eyes.
Namjoon grabbed Mark's hand and dragged him out of the kitchen, the diner, walking with him along the pathway outside. Mark stopped him from walking anymore, spinning him to face him.
"What happened in there?" Mark asked confused.
"I'll tell you later, okay?"
"You better. You almost got your ass kicked." Mark laughed jokingly.
Namjoon also laughed, taking a step closer to him. Their foreheads resting on each others, noses brushing against one another's, until their lips connect in a soft, long, passionate kiss.
Youngjae's plus one, stood outside the door of the diner watching every bit of it.
