โ” chap 7. a girl's first mission !
โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”

"THE MISSION IS EASY." gojo starts, passing his phone to his niece, showing off a picture of a red pendant necklace. "locate the object, secure it, and bring it back here so the Tokyo base can seal it."

[y/n] inspects the photo, noting the intricate design and the golden chain attached to the pendant. jewelry-wise, it was too much for her tastes.

"i'm assuming it's a cursed tool, right?" the girl assumes handing back the phone to her uncle. who smiles at her in return, cheeky as ever. "there would be no reason to recover it so quickly if it was just a simple cursed object."

"look at you [y/n]-chan!~ so smart!"

"just get to the point."

gojo only pouts, playfully hurt by her harsh words. but he holds back a grin simply because she and her father are so similar in some ways.

"the object presumably comes from europe during the victorian era. it probably ended in japan through trade and became a wedding gift." gojo explains moving his hands, his voice having a light-hearted tone. "it doesn't have an official name but it is said to boost one's negative emotions."

"what?" [y/n] raises a brow, surprised by the information. she's studied the history of certain cursed tools before but this was first for her. "is that even possible?"

"there are curse techniques that are basically support moves. so it's not technically unheard of." the white-haired man retorts making the young fushiguro deadpan at him.

but her expression returns to a neutral one, her face scrunching up in thought. she meets her uncle's gaze as he is already looking at her.

"where is it located then?"

โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”

AND SO, A few nights later, [y/n] fushiguro finds herself walking behind u.a. high. looking for an old-fashioned stevenson screen that stood behind the school.

the revelation that the cursed object somehow ended up on u.a. property almost gave [y/n] a heart attack. she assumed the only reason she was picked for this mission was because she attended here.

so when she finally sets her sights on the box, she can't help but raise a brow. "the hell?" she sighs, stepping into the moonlight.

she was dressed down in a dark uniform that once belonged to her father. "they're keeping a cursed object here in a place like this? could they be anymore stupid?"

deciding it was not the time to thoroughly judge the school she attends, [y/n] goes to open the stevenson box without delay. her hand reaches out, pausing to note there is no lock but doesn't comment on it and opens the box.

only to find nothing there.

her green eyes go wide as pie plates. she shoves herself inside the box, looks under it, gets on top of it, and finally shuts the door open and close to see if it would show up. but nothing ever did.

"there's nothing here!" she complains to her uncle over the phone, a pout on her lips. then, she hears him make a noise of confusion and can't help but get irritated.

she rolls her eyes and speaks again, "the stevenson screen is empty, uncle toru."

"oh? for real? that's hilarious! maybe it took a nighttime stroll." the white-haired man laughs over the phone. an irk mark appears on fushiguro's head.

"i'll punch you," she replies immediately, putting a hand on her hip.

"well," he teases, giggling not affected by her threat. "no going home until the item is recovered [y/n]-chan~!" then gojo, suddenly hangs up on his niece.

she pauses and blinks, looking down at her phone's screenโ€” not believing that he did hang up on her.

then, a fiery rage similar to her father's courses through her as she grumbles. "i'm seriously going to kick him in the balls next time."

โจณ ๐“ฒห– ๐Ÿบ ห– เฃช ๐Ÿพ ึธเฃช ๐“ฒโ‹†.

ANOTHER DAY QUICKLY arrives for [y/n], and today's hero class had them outside in the u.a field.

today was a test of enduranceโ€” as aizawa called it. it was more like 'let's see how hold up by running three miles.' or something of the sort.

it didn't help that the spring season's sun was beating down on the class 1-A students. their only protection from it is the large tree standing by the tall chain link fence.

for this exercise, the class was separated into two groups, girls vs boys. the boys going first as there was an imbalance between the groups. which the girls gratefully accepted as they all relaxed under the shade of the tree.

as they talked, [y/n] separated herself from the group, wandering the field but not too far that it would make it suspicious. her jewel-like green eyes darted around slowly, following a feeling she knew all too well.

with hands in her pocket, she stops her steps. her pretty eyes dipping downwards to the sandy-colored dirt. 'what's up with this field?' scrunching up her face in disdain seeing exactly what she felt.

'is there a dead body buried underneath here or something?' she assumes with a tilt of her head, watching as the grotesque curse swims through the ground.

her eyes follow it, 'even if there is,' the curse crawls its way up the chain fence. 'i'm surprised to see one so high leveled. judging by it energy it gives off, it's probably a grade two.'

fushiguro rubbed the back of her neck, tired as her eyes still were on the curse. it makes a growling sound from on top of the fence, she didn't wonder what it was doing. 'must be the influence of that cursed object.'

it was troubling, [y/n] was someone who was very keen on sensing the curse energy around her. so it was becoming a nuisance for her to locate the object she needed.

the fact it was on u.a. property was already a huge risk for herself and her identity as a sorcerer. how it ended up there was also a mystery.

in short, fushiguro needed to complete this mission as smoothly as possible.

suddenly, the pretty dark haired girl hears her name being called and peels her eyes away from what she was staring at. looking over, it seemed like the boys were done with their 3 mile run.

it was amusing to watch that some of them were laying on the ground from exhaustion, sweating like pigs. [y/n] makes her way over as her eyes take one last glance at the cursed spirit above the fence before turning her gaze forward.

'it would have been much easier if it was the object didn't blend in so easily...'

as the boys cool off, aizawa instructs the girls to come over and line up for exercise. [y/n] places herself between yaoyorozu and hagakure and the latter, can't help but glance at her.

all seven girls begin their warms up before the dreaded run and its evaluation afterward. meanwhile, fushiguro was hardly worried about it, if she were being honest.

she had a lot of things on her mind and this 3 mile run wasn't one of them. '...the energy itself feels too strong for me to pin it down. what might close could be far away.'

all girls get into position and start running as the timer bot counts down to start. the surrounding area where the boy resided becomes louder, bets being placed most likely.

then, the tiny robot releases a loud beep and the girls take off running at whatever speeds that were their fastest. shouts of encouragement and to no one's surprise that fushiguro was in the lead.

'thinking about it,' [y/n] keeps her breathing and thoughts in control so as not over exert herself. 'how did u.a. find themselves in possession of a cursed object...?'

the heir finds herself thinking about the events from a few days ago. u.a high's defense barrier crumbled away like dust letting those stingy reporters invade and that grade 2 cursed spirit roam the halls.

it seemed there would be no connection between the two, nothing but a lost cause. but why? why did [y/n] get the feeling that there was more to this than just a simple mishap...?

[y/n]'s gaze turned sharp and focused, feeling herself a chill crawl up her spine as sweat beads down her face. she skids along the dirt around the corner, reaching the last leg of the mile.

once [y/n] passes the small bot, it beeps, allotting her time for the run. she comes to a slow stop and keeps her breathing normal. small strands of her black hair stick to her neck and face caused by sweat.

soon enough, the other girls cross the finish line. most of them exhausted from the run, but two others seemed to be doing just fine. excluding [y/n]โ€” of course, as she came in first.

'i need to finish this before it drags out for too long.' the heir wipes away the sheen sweat on her face with her shirt, letting others have a peak at her toned stomach.

meanwhile, the girls who just finished their run, slow down and catch their breath. helping themselves to the sight of the impressive fushiguro, who looked like she barely even broke a sweat.

"fushiguro is so good at everything, it's not fair." mina whines with a pout, laying flat on her back as she catches her breath.

hakegure who sat next to her giggles through labored breath. "but isn't it so inspiring?" she states, the sleeves of her shirts raised, indicating that she is raising her arms. "looking at her gets me super motivated!"

most of the girls couldn't help but agree with hakegure. to them, fushiguro was someone to admire.

as fushiguro continues to be lost in her thoughts, yaoyorozu approaches her in a shy manner. afraid that she might annoy the beautiful girl.

but as her mouth opens to say her name, [y/n]'s head suddenly shoots up, scaring yaoyorozu. someone or something grabbed her attention?

what had yaoyorozu puzzled as to what made her react like that?

following her gaze, yaoyorozu sees someone run by on the other side of the fence and not even a moment's notice, fushiguro runs towards the fence.

confused talk and yells erupt as all eyes were on the dark haired girl. who then proceeds to jump over the fence and land on the other side of it, perfectly.

"hey, wait!" [y/n] calls after the random student, catching sight of red fiery hair but they were too far away. going after them would raise too much suspicion.

suddenly, someone else comes by the same way, slowing down. their stature was a bit shorter than fushiguro's and out of breath, it looked like they were also running after someone.

putting the pieces together fushiguro's eyes widen, seeing an opportunity. "question," she asks the other student, a tense smile on her lips as the other girl only looked at her. "that person who just ran by here? do you know where i can meet them?"

"huh?" they breathe, wiping away their sweat and brow raised. seemingly knowing who she was talking about. "you mean, uyemura-chan?"

"yeah, her. where can i find her?"

"...uh, probably after school in one of the club rooms."

bingo! the girl had a lead. after thanking the student, [y/n] climbs back on the fence, jumping over again with ease.

before anyone from class 1-A could ask her what was that about, the black haired girl ran again in the direction of the locker rooms.

a weird air befalls on the class, still really confused about what just happened. but they ignore it in any way they could deeming it none of their business.

but meanwhile, both midoriya and bakugo couldn't help themselves but keeping an eye on fushiguro. having a slight idea as to why the girl was acting so strange.

THE DAY SLOWLY comes to an end, in a nearby hospital, yuriko uyemura was finishing up some paperwork for her grandmother. as she only died a few hours before. night finally befalling on this tragic day.

it was weird. the red-haired girl didn't feel like crying but the pain in her chest felt like it was eating her whole. though at the same time, this death felt natural for her stubborn grandmother.

"yuriko uyemura, correct?"

the call of uyemura's name makes her jump out of her skin and yelp. her violet eyes glance over to the shadows of the dark hospital hallway and almost screams when a figure emerges.

"i'm fushiguro," [y/n] states, stepping closer to uyemura as her bright and sharp green eyes are clouded with mystery. though her face was barely lit by the fluorescent lights, her beauty didn't shy away even in the dark.

uyemura had never met someone so breathtaking before, it was practically magical. she gulps nervously and each step [y/n] took closer had her holding her breath.

her chest tightened by her presence that it seemed to be shrouded in the shadows themselves.

"there's something we need to talk about."

โจณ ๐“ฒห– ๐Ÿบ ห– เฃช ๐Ÿพ ึธเฃช ๐“ฒโ‹†.

GUIDING THE GIRL to a secluded corner, [y/n] had to take it upon herself to start the conversation. seeing as the uyemura was a bit nervous to speak.

"i'll get straight to the point."

"i'm kinda in mourning right now, so iโ€”"

"again, i'm sorry for your loss, really." fushiguro interrupts, hand slightly held out and eyes closed with a sigh. "but this is a important."

uyemura couldn't help feel like this probably wasn't the weirdest and rudest situation she's been in. but, she let bygones be bygones.

the red-head flinches slightly when a phone is shoved towards her, showing off a a familiar necklace. "do you have this on you."

uyemura hums, blinking rapidly before recognizing the object. "yeah i found that! my senpai really took a liking to it!"

clicking off her phone, fushiguro sighs and her eyes seem to soften up slightly. 'good, if i can just make her give it back to me...'

"it's cursed object, right?"

[y/n] can't help but feel her chest tighten up. eyes going wide looking at uyemura and her staring back with an almost feigned innocence.

'how the hell does she know that?' was it a rumor? that was a reasonable explanation. but there something that was tugging at [y/n]'s heart.

like she was missing something.

then it clicks, [y/n] understands why it's bugging her. it's rare but there was second overlooked option sorcerers usually forget to consider and that'sโ€” "you're a shrine maiden, aren't you."

uyemura nods with a wobbly smile, like she embarrassed by the mere fact. "my mother was one, so it would be obvious," she played with her fingers nervously. "that i would be one too."

"bottom line is," [y/n] cuts her off, her face growing less tense. "you can see and feel curses, right?"

the redhead nods with certainty and fushiguro feels like she hit the jackpot. 'oh thank god, i thought i was fucked. and it makes things easier.'

"so you probably know the risks."

"yeah... i did."

"so, why take it?"

uyemaura began to look conflicted, her eyes adverted away from fushiguro. once again, seemingly embarrassed. the silence had gone on for too long before the heiress was loosing patience.

"whatever it is, i'm here now." [y/n] reasons, her voice tinged with a granting annoyance. she holds her hand to uyemura, palm out. "just, the necklace, hand it over."

uyemura doesn't hesitate to shuffle inside her bad, grabbing the box where the necklace is stored and handing it to [y/n].

to affirm it was the real thing, fushiguro opens the box to check. her heart drops to her stomach when she peers inside, her breath caught in her throat.

'what?'

inside there was nothing. it was empty. it's then [y/n] realizes that she was only following the residuals inside the box. not the item itself.

this is a mistake only a rookie could make, some so called prodigy she was. she could almost hear the mocking and ridiculing laughter in her ears.

the young heiress grabs uyemura's shirt collar who looked frazzled. "hey?! what's wrong?!โ€”" her voice is cut off when [y/n] shoves the box in her face, her own expression angry and panicked. "the necklace! where is it?!"

"well i don't know, my senpai..."

"what?"

uyemura's eyes become distant, lost in thought. her violet eyes then turn to [y/n]'s, begging for answer. "the thing is..." her voice faltering while the other girl urges her to continue, "i think my senpai wanted to unseal it tonight."

if things couldn't get worse. it just fucking did.

โจณ ๐“ฒห– ๐Ÿบ ห– เฃช ๐Ÿพ ึธเฃช ๐“ฒโ‹†.

BOTH FUSHIGURO & UYEMURA rush out of hospital with only one destination in mind. with the situation at hand had becoming the worst case scenario.

"do seals really come off that easily?!"

"no, someone with no cursed energy wouldn't be able too!normally!"

the two girls run up a familiar road hill that leads up the school the rests up top. the moon barely peaking over the u.a. high building giving it an eerie glow.

"the thing is," [y/n] rasps, glancing to the side to face uyemura. "the cursed object is powerful and the seal is old. it might as well be regular paper!"

'but who knows, the curse energy might be powerful enough to let people with quirks see it too. but that's still a long shot.' the heiress guesses, her eyes narrowing with a sweat.

as they reached the gates of u.a. high, the moment the two step onto school grounds they almost crumbled underneath the pressure.

the energy crawled up their skin like snakes sinking their fangs into them like poison. it was strong enough for uyemura to fall to her knees, sweating buckets.

'just what...' she felt like she couldn't breathe properly. was this really the pressure of curse energy? her mother hadn't prepared nor ever said what it was going feel like this.

her shaky eyes turn upwards and a gasp is held in. uyemura watches as fushiguro holds her ground, vibrant green eyes piercing through the air. in the silent chaos, this demonic pressure meant nothing to her.

[y/n] has felt and seen worse.

her soft black tresses follow behind her as she runs further into the academy. "wait? fushiguro-san!" uyemura was left breathless, "you're gonna get yourself killed!"

uyemura hears no response from the young sorcerer. a shakiness to her breath when reaching out to fushiguro, hoping to stop her from charging straight in.

but it was already too late, her voice barley reaching her. yet, she couldn't help but envy that courage a bit.

"she's really cool, huh..."

โจณ ๐“ฒห– ๐Ÿบ ห– เฃช ๐Ÿพ ึธเฃช ๐“ฒโ‹†.

[Y/N]'S RUNNING ECHOS through the dark hallways, practically jumping the staircases to get to club rooms on the forth floor.

'damnit!' she sweats, sprinting down the hall. clasping her hands together forming the shadow she needs. 'the curse's presence is all over the place.'

once rounding a corner, curses crawled through the hall of her school, varying in different low grades and sizes. it was usually like this in the afternoon but to see it like this in the night was all the more unnerving.

but she couldn't let those thoughts bother her. nor wasn't the time to lament over her foolish assumptions and choices. she had a job to do.

"boys, you know what to do."

from the depths of her shadow, [y/n]'s demon dogs take shape. howling to the moon like a warning signal. they bear their fangs before speeding off to feast on their prey. their master not far behind.

letting her shikigami take on the curses, [y/n] tasked herself to track down the specific curse energy she was looking for. with every curse that's in the area, the heiress distinguished their energy, comparing to the one she needs to look for.

she blindly lets her dogs protect her, solely focusing on her keen senses. even going so far as to let her eyes close, still running.

then, there was pressure against her body. crawling up like roots pulling her down, making her steps heavy. but despite feeling this, she smirked.

"got you!" she yells, her eyes shooting open and sliding around the corner.

her green eyes land upon a giant curse right at the end of hallway, looking like a lump of garbage bag. smaller version of itself crawling on its body as its thin legs and arms held itself up.

but what was most disturbing was the 2nd year student trapped and passed out. she was probably the one who released the item of the seal.

'shit, the curse is going to eat them both!' [y/n]'s eyes dart around, forming a plan instantly. but her body doesn't stop moving.

summoning nue in record time, both her demon dogs and the owl take their respective roles. they'll go after the curse and [y/n] will go after the girl.

with a burst of speed to a singular step, a side kick to its one of its eyes, fushiguro manages to grab the girl in her arms and the cursed object.

she steps off to the side, the girl over her shoulder like a sack of rice. her eyes peek under her bangs and could see the curse wanted to retaliate, but nue got the first hit in. her dogs following suit, perfectly exorcising the curse.

the heiress relaxes watching as her dogs continue to eat with goofy smiles on their faces. she promptly sets down the student against the wall, checking for any injuries.

'she looks like passed out from the fear...' [y/n]ย  concludes, sighing in relief. stepping away she inspects the cursed object, her face scrunching up.

her other hand holds the chain, feeling its metal between her fingers. the curse energy in the item was... imbalanced. if [y/n] had to describe it, it was almost as if it was searching for something?

'whatever,' she resigns, shoulders slumping. 'now that i have what i need, i can finish up loose ends.' her eyes drifting to a near window.

pocketing the pendant, [y/n] leaves herself unguarded to clean up the mess she's made.

that was her second mistake.

before she could even notice its presence, bursting through the concrete walls of her school comes out a giant curse. hurtling straight towards her.

โจณ ๐“ฒห– ๐Ÿบ ห– เฃช ๐Ÿพ ึธเฃช ๐“ฒโ‹†.

[Y/N] DOESNT REACT quickly enough before she is sent through a wall herself. the curse not far behind, hoping to eat her alive.

'you gotta be kidding me?!'

her body flies in the air, her back hitting the concrete with a sickening CRACK! her muscles all ached horrendously and her was head spinning circles. she might of fractured some bones but everything hurt so much she isn't able to tell.

"ugh," [y/n] groans trying to get back up and tasting iron against her lips. "why does this always happen to me?!"

[y/n] can feel the blood dripping from her head, sticking to her hair. while her vision is blurry she can could clearly tell the curse was getting closer. she needed a plan now.

acting hastily, the girl gets on her knee and stretches out her hands shaping her hands to summon a shikigami. she winces, finding it a bit hard to breathe.

but it was too late for that, the curse was already right in front of her. her green eyes widen in terror, 'no!' watching it tower over her body ready to eat herโ€”

"โ€”GOD'S PROTECTION!"

the sound of loud toll bell rang in [y/n]'s ears before a vague figure appears in front of her, her eyes laced with shocked. it was uyemura.

the redhead was beading with sweat, casting protection charm that creates a blue tinted shield. her curse energy pulses through her. [y/n] could feel it fluctuating.

but why? it wasn't this strong when she met her? that's when she noticed the thing in gripped in her hand.

it was the pedant, it must of fallen out of her pocket when she she flew out. and it seemed to be working harmoniously with uyemura.

"have you lost your mind?!"

"i wasn't gonna let you die!"

suddenly, the curse begins head butting the shield, causing the girl to yelp and goes back to concentrating. [y/n]'s eyes flicker between her and the pendant, "who knows what that will do to you! you need to let it go!"

"not a chance!" she retorts, her violet eyes glaring forward. her stance filled with confidence. "i'm not gonna stand by any longer!"

"it is not the time to play hero!"

"but aren't you training to be one?!"

[y/n]'s is stunned into silence, blinking rapidly, 'how did she know?' it was common thing for sorcerers to reject to hero society standards.

to contribute in a society that rejects the idea of sorcerers and their power. it was shameful in the eyes of others.

"whats so bad about that?" [y/n] asks her with grit, expecting the worst. uyemura grew up in a shrine, surrounded by strict ideals of other adults, how she views her choices could cause problems.

the heiress was prepared for it. insults, backhanded compliments, criticism and anything she could possible think of.

"i think it's amazing your trying to be one, fushiguro-san!" uyemura replies confidently, wincing as the curse tries to break through her barrier. "i admire your courage!"

[y/n] doesn't react to her compliment but she was a bit relieved. just a bit. but it doesn't change anything about the situation they're in.

getting on her knees and her head clearing up. she's need to intact a plan, now. 'fighting it head on would probably just get me killed.' [y/n] glances at the barrier and instantly, she finds her missing puzzle piece.

"how long can you hold and how many can you do?" she asks her quickly while the redhead keeps her focus. with strained in her voice, she answers, "three at a time! for 20 mins, but i have lag of 1 second of casting and decasting!"

"so its basically instant!?"

"yeah, basically!"

[y/n] considers her options, multiple ways to go about the plan. then she finds her solution. "alright." she mumbles, getting on her feet, ignoring the pounding dizziness. "pass me the pendant."

uyemura looks at her ludicrously, wondering if the heiress knew the implications of that. fushiguro rolled her green eyes, "i know what i'm doing."

with hesitation, she passes her the pendant and she pockets it once again. "okay," [y/n] flicks her eyes back at uyemura's face. "on my count, bring the barrier down. and once i give the the signal, cast another over the curse."

"we're not gonna die, right?"

"only if we fail."

"that doesn't really help!"

[y/n] couldn't be bothered on how the girl felt about the plan, it was now or never. she holds out her hand for uyemura to see, counting down from five.

the redhead can't help but gulp feeling a little less confident than she did before. then, her violet eyes meet [y/n]'s, who was already looking straight at her.

somehow, having the heiress here made uyemura feel more at ease, more sure of herself. once she counts down to one, uyemura mumbles something under her breath before the barrier around them falls.

[y/n] is quick to work in revealing the object to the curse spirit. "it's this you want, right?!" she taunts, a smirk to her lips as its attention is grabbed. "then come and get it!"

and the chase was on.

"what the!?" watching fushiguro get chased around by the cursed spirit had uyemura wondering if this girl was even right in the head. but it was too late to back down now.

meanwhile, [y/n] weaved through courtyard of her school evading attacks. though this little cat and mouse chase caused a worrisome amount of collateral damage, it was the least of her problems.

the heiress takes a sharp left, confusing the curse but still following her blindly. not knowing it was taken back right at the start.

the dark haired girl almost disappears into the shadows, out of its peripheral view. the curse spins around in circles, trying to track any source of [y/n]'s curse energy or the energy from the object. but only finds residuals mixing together.

then, it sets it sights on [y/n] standing there casually in the distance. it chargers straight at her, seemingly unaffected by her untimely doom.

that is until [y/n]'s hands move elegantly at her hips, unsheathing a katana that wasn't even there before. she moves her body with grace, twisting it into motion.

in a flash step, she swings her katana with precision of a master swordsmen. annihilating the legs of the curse causing it to bleed out.

"NOW, UYEMURA!"

[y/n] orders, her green eyes looking over her shoulder, holding confidence that glowed in the night.

uyemura who was hiding behind her in her original spot, she wore of look of utter confidence and bravery. nodding as it was her turn to step in.

with another paper seal, she calls upon her curse energy fluctuating due to the curse object around her neck. "god's protection!"

at the sound of large bell, a shield surrounds the curse making it panic. suddenly, its shadow expands revealing a black abyss, then with its dominating screech fushiguro's great serpent launches itself from the shadow.

the shield shatters like glass causing uyemura to gape in shock. 'is this...' her violet eyes never leave the shikigami, watching as it tears the curse into pieces. 'the power of a sorcerer?'

cursed blood falls like rain before the serpent throws the curse to the side and quickly gobbles it up. exorcising it.

โจณ ๐“ฒห– ๐Ÿบ ห– เฃช ๐Ÿพ ึธเฃช ๐“ฒโ‹†.

HEAVY BREATHS WEIGH upon [y/n] and uyemura, trying to recollect themselves as to what had transpired.

silence almost consumes them before both girl's make eye contact with each other. "you alright, fushiguro-san?" the red-head asks approaching her.

the girl looked to be wobbling where she stood, especially with the blood that dripped down her face. but fushiguro waves her off. "i've felt worse." taking a deep breath, ignoring the pain in her body.

fushiguro eyes take notice of the pedant around her neck and brows furrow. what was once the color red has now turned into an beautiful amethyst color, shades mixing together.

"why did it change color?"

"i don't know..."

uyemura muttered, a tired expression on her face. "note to yourself, never take anything with binding paper." [y/n] retorts as the other girl reaches for the chain around her neck, pulling it off.

until it doesn't.

the redhead feels her heart drop, "what the?!" before putting more force, tugging on it like it was some comedy skit hurting her neck. it begins to concern [y/n] as she is unable to assess the situation. maybe she was too tired to care at this point.

"fushiguro-san, it's not coming off!"

"yeah, no shit sherlock! i can see that!"

uyemura cried comical tears, her cheeks red as her hair. "why me?!" she keeps tugging at the chain with [y/n] now helping her.

after a couple of more minutes of struggling the girls ultimately give up, defeated. "what the heck," the redhead huffs. "why won't this thing come off?"

meanwhile, the heiress takes a look around the area and she can't contain the expression of distress on her face. a noise leaves her mouth as cringes at all the damage caused by the fight.

uyemura follows her actions and the realization dawns on her as well. matching the expression of [y/n]'s, both girls thinking the same thing. they were so fucked.

"what's the situation."

at the sound of a very familiar voice, [y/n] flinches and whips her head around. faced with the presence of her annoying uncle.

there stood satoru gojo, without a care in the world and a smile adorning his half covered face. he was in his usual get up and he held a small bag in his hand.

"uncle toru?!" [y/n] exclaims, a raised eyebrow. "what are you doing here?!"

"yo!" he simply greets, a hand raised. "i wasn't planning on coming, to be honest..."

his statement gets [y/n]'s eyebrow twitching in annoyance, "of course you didn't."

"but!" he drags on, bending down to inspect the injuries on his niece. "you got kinda roughed up [y/n]-chan!" he suddenly whips out his phone and takes pictures of her with the flash on. "maki and the others are gonna love this!"

"ugh, can you not?!" [y/n] complains, covering her face with her arm, embarrassed. "it's bad enough already you have uncandid photos of me!"

but the man ignores her anyway and continues snapping pictures of his niece, laughing.

meanwhile, uyemura was throughly confused on what was going on. especially over the fact that the gojo satoru was somehow how fushiguro's uncle, her eyes flickering between them.

"anyways!" gojo stops, scrolling through his phone. "the higher ups were bitchin' about the special grade cursed object still missing. so i did a little sight seeing and decided to stop by." he looks up at his niece. "so, did you find it yet?"

a moment of silence befalls them for a moment before uyemura raises her hand. "um," she stutters, grabbing their attention. "sorry, but i might have, bonded with it."

"...for real?"

"for real."

after a second of consideration, gojo walks up to uyemura taking a look at pendant. the sudden closeness made the girl tense up. despite not seeing his eyes, she could tell he was looking right at her.

"wow," he mumbles, devilish smile against his lips. "you really did bond with it."

he backs away, now inspecting the girl herself. "are there any problems? you feel fine?"

"no, not really..." uyemura mumbles, feeling nervous under the man's analyzing gaze. "i feel normal, for the most part."

"good, you aren't dying then."

"that's not nice to say fushiguro-san!"

the heiress shrugs tiredly, making a disinterested expression. uyemura meanwhile, looks less then pleased with her reaction to the whole situation. gojo on the other hand was amused by it all.

but the sigh that leaves [y/n]'s lips is one that grabs their interest, brows furrowed.

"so, what now?"

MORNING COMES RELATIVELY fast for the two girls, as they admit their upperclassmen to the hospital. it was suspicious but gojo handled it most of it.

now, uyemura could only sit by her comatose senior, the morning sun hue's peaking through the window. the air was cool and misty, despite being spring still.

"they said she'll wake up soon."

uyemura's eyes look up instinctively, seeing fushiguro walk into the quiet room. no longer in her dark clothing but instead of her u.a. high uniform and her injuries all patched up.

though she could barely call her presentable as her tie was loose, her skirt a bit too high, and black hair the same as it was, wild. a good wild with her iconic ribbon holding her hair together.

uyemura greatly underestimated how good looking [y/n] was, even more so during the day. 'does she just look like this? all the time? i'm kinda jealous.'

"that's good..." the redhead mumbles in response, her gaze lingering back to her friend. silence overcoming the atmosphere once more.

"..." [y/n] felt like she was suffocating from this awkward silence. she definitely just wanted to leave immediately but that would appear blatantly rude.

she coughs, hoping to break the tension. "i heard from gojo that you'll be going to kyoto."

this time, uyemura doesn't look at fushiguro, her mind distant from that statement. the heiress almost thought she didn't hear her.

"will you be there?" the redhead suddenly asks her, finally looking at her. her sad violet eyes hazed with a pleading. like she praying for something.

and [y/n] notices it. hell, she recognizes that look. knowing it all too well that it almost unnerves her. but she doesn't hesitate in her answer.

"i don't go there. i go to the tokyo base."

"...oh, i see."

there's was the silence again, tenser than it was a few minutes ago. [y/n] doesn't know if she pity the girl or not. but it was getting late, she needed to be at school soon.

"i hope that," she starts, her green eyes meeting her violet ones, "things work out."

with that fushiguro turns away from her, bidding her farewell. as she enters the hallway of the hospital, footsteps could be heard after her.

"wait!" uyemura rings out, catching up to her this time. her voices makes fushiguro stop but she doesn't turn around to look at her.

though the redhead didn't mind it. "thank you, fushiguro-san, for, everything."

a 'thank you' was the last thing on [y/n]'s list of things she'd hear from a stranger. it wasn't something she really acknowledged from people at all. much less from someone she knew only for half a night.

but she indulged in it for a moment.

"don't mention it." [y/n] replies honestly, and that sincerity was evident in her voice. so much that it made uyemura smile slightly.

her violet eyes watch as she walks away from her view, the morning glow on her figure. and uyemura wonders how she mustered up the courage to say thank you in the first place.

THE SKY WAS ONCE again a bright blue, its spring clouds decorating across it. the world awake to start a new day and make the most of it.

[y/n] walked in silence, a pair of headphones on her head. listening to instrumentals as she walked to school, peacefully enjoying the ambience it brought.

thoughts usually wonder her head in moments like theses, but the music blocked such feelings out.

it wasn't until she arrived in campus that everything became noisy and crowded. [y/n] could already guess as to why and she's wasn't surprised by it.

news stations, reporters and even police all surrounded the main entrance. it seems the world wasted no time to pick on the lasted scoop at the infamous hero training school.

the damages from last night seemed more severe than it during the moonlight. trees uprooted from the ground, pieces of concrete everywhere and the giant hole inside the building.

no doubt its looks worse inside.

'jesus, i didn't think it was this bad.' [y/n] assumed, rubbing the back of her neck. a bead of sweat forming on her forehead, 'it's not like i could have known this would happen.'

deciding to act natural, [y/n] avoids the commotion swiftly and keeping her head down. but before she could even continue her way to homeroom, she bumped into the one teacher she wished she didn't.

"fushiguro." aizawa greets his student, tiredness laced in his voice. obviously annoyed to be awoken at this time day.

"good morning sensei," she promptly says, sliding her headphones off. meeting aizawa's dark eyes, who were obviously observing her moves. "i'm surprised to see you here so early."

"well as you can see," he says, both looking at the damage around them. "things are less than ideal."

"yeah, no kidding." [y/n] cringes hating to see the mess she caused, not her proudest moment. but she couldn't let him perceive such a thing.

suddenly there's an uproar of noise coming from the entrance so, [y/n] takes her chance to escape. "i better get going," facing her teacher to bowing in respect.

acknowledging it, aizawa watches fushiguro walk off. his tired eyes don't leave her frame, analyzing her.

"so are we really just gonna leave it like this?" present mic gapes, his arms waving at the projection of the video camera.

the u.a hero staff sit around the conference table, as an emergency meeting was scheduled. with the topic being about one specific student.

"for now, we are." nezu answers from his high chair. his paws pressing pause on the video.

sniper leans back his seat, grumbling."i don't like the idea of it this. it's all too fishy."

"but what can we do?" midnight retorts, trying to reason with the man. "she didn't actually cause the damage, she was just defending herself."

"it looks like she's fighting air!"

"maybe it was someone who could turn invisible."

"but judging by the footage, the other student could also see it too." ectoplasm adds in, interrupting their argument.

silence follows for a moment before cementoss joins in, "and there's the case of satoru gojo."

"hotshot didn't even bother acknowledging the damage." midnight scoffs, her arms crossed in annoyance. "what i don't get is that we don't even know how this villain got in."

"if it even was a villain." vlad king mentions, causing the staff to quiet down.

in the silence, nezu's eyes drift over to aizawa who was sitting at the end of the table. his expression was mostly unreadable but it goes without saying that he's as much shock as the rest of the staff is.

with a soft sigh, nezu turns to fully face him and that grabs aizawa's attention away from the screen.

"she's your student, eraserhead." he says, eyes going back to look at the screen. "its your decision on what course we should take."

aizawa tears his eyes away from his student and moves forward to deal with the commotion.

"i'll keep a close eye on her."

his mind races on the possibilities of the existence of this specific student. what makes her so special than the rest?

"i don't fully trust her. it seems like this is something beyond our understanding and knowledge."

what gives her the edge above her peers? what shrouds this girl in shadows and mystery?

"but for right now, [y/n] fushiguro will still be under my surveillance."
