In the year 845... The Colossal and Armored Titans suddenly appeared, destroying the wall, along with the life we'd known.

Humanity abandoned Wall Maria, losing twenty percent of its population and a third of its territory, to retreat within Wall Rose.

And in the year 850... The Colossal Titan reappeared and breached the wall. And once again, humanity could not stop a Titan invasion.

Soldiers fell, one after the next, before the Titan assault. And then... Eren Yeager had been devoured by a Titan, but reappeared, emerging from a mysterious Titan.

Dot Pixis, the high commander of the southern territories, recognized the combat potential of Eren's ability to become a Titan, and decided to execute an an audacious plan.

However, as soon as it had begun, the mission already seems to be on the brink of failure...

EREN'S FIST HAD SWUNG AT Mikasa and Josiah as Mikasa fell down on the building as she felt something sharp hit her cheek. Josiah was able to move out of the way. He lifted up his fist once more to strike at them. "Ackerman! Verlice!" Ian shouted, trying to get to them.

Josiah managed to dodge Eren's fist before it struck him again. He used his ODM gear to get close to his face.

"Hey! Verlice, stop!" Ian warned. "Get away from him!"

"Eren, don't you know who I am? It's me, Josiah! Listen to me you piece of shit!" Josiah shouted. "You must use that boulder to seal the hole!"

"The mission has failed. I knew there wasn't any secret weapon." Rico thought as she fired a red flare.

"Eren, you're human! You're..." Josiah kept trying to get through to him.

"Move, Verlice!" Ian shouted at him as Josiah moved out of the way just in time for Eren to hit his face where he once was.

Eren had collapsed on the ground next to the boulder.

"What the? He's just like any other stupid Titan!" A Garrison soldier said.

"Eren!" Mikasa shouted.

"Captain Ian! Two Titans approaching from the front! A 10-meter and a 6-meter class."

"Another from the rear, as well!"

"One 12-meter class coming this way!"

"Ian, we must retreat! Look at him! No way is that hole getting sealed!" The same Garrison soldier said.

"Yeah... We have no choice but to leave him here." Rico agreed. That's when Mikasa and Josiah both gave her a death glare as Ian flinched and looked away.

Meanwhile, Armin was trying to talk some sense into Eren. "One day, we're going to explore the outside world, right?" Armin questioned. "Far beyond these walls is flaming water! Frozen earth! Snow-white plains of sand! The world my mom and dad tried to see... I thought maybe you'd forgotten. But the reason you stopped mentioning it was because you didn't want me to join the Survey Corps, right?"

"The outside world?" Eren asked as he stood up.

"Eren... Answer me! You knew that hell was one step beyond the walls. You might die horribly, like my mom and dad did. So why do you want to go?" Armin asked.

"Why? You know why. Because I was born into this world!" Eren replied as he burned his past away. Eren's Titan was alive again, ready to finish the mission.

Jean tries to catch his breath as he saw a corpse with its maneuvering gear still attached to it. The Titan soon leaves his area as he rushed out of the abandoned house and towards the corpse.

"I can't wait until they're gone! No way!" Jean stated.

"Jean!" Connie called out to him but he was ignored. "His maneuver gear really is busted."

"What's wrong?" Marco asked, walking up to the three.

Jean was trying to unbuckle the maneuver gear from the corpse. "Crap... What's wrong with it? Damn it... Not now!" Jean exclaimed as the same Titan from before was coming close to him.

Marco flew past the Titans face to distract it.

"Marco? What are you doing?" Jean questioned. Marco landed on the ground as he began running, causing the Titan to turn away from Jean. He finally unbuckled the gear from the corpse.

Connie flew in and landed on a roof. "Jeez. Don't be such a pain in the ass!" He exclaimed as Annie landed right next to him. Jean tried to use the gear to go forward but he ended up falling down onto the ground.

"Damn, why is the trigger so hard to pull?" Jean asked himself as a Titan was coming closer to him. Connie comes in just in time and knocks his knee into the Titans face.

"What are you doing?!" Jean exclaimed.

"Look who's talking?" Connie shouted back. "Hurry and get out of here!"

Jean managed to fly up but turned to face another Titan ready to devoured him. But before it could, it was sent to the ground.

Jean arrived onto the roof with Marco, Connie, and Annie. "You're insane!" Jean exclaimed.

"Can't believe I survived that..." Connie commented. Annie then spots something in the distance.

"Look at that." She informed as they all looked up.

There was loud footsteps that were heard as it echoed. Eren's Titan was carrying the boulder.

"Eren..." Mikasa mumbled.

"Mikasa!" She heard Armin shout out. "Eren won! Now he's trying to get the job done! If we can cover him till he gets to the gate, we win!"

"Defend him at all costs! Protect Eren until he reaches the gate, even if it costs you your life! Don't let any of the Titans near him!" Ian shouted.

"Don't let them interfere! Protect Eren!" Jean exclaimed to Marco, Connie, and Annie as they all flew down the wall.

"You three, head towards Eren. That's an order!" Ian told Armin, Josiah and Mikasa. "Got it?"

"Roger!"

Ian then saw three people running on the ground. "Mitabi's squad... What are they doing?" He asked himself.

"What the... Going on the ground is suicide. Without horses or buildings, they can't fight!" Armin exclaimed.

"No... Now, it's the only way left..." Ian muttered as he flew forward. "Follow Mitabi's squad!"

"Armin, Josiah, let's go, too." Mikasa told him.

Eren continued carrying the boulder as the soldiers distracted the Titans from going any closer. "My body feels like it's being crushed..." Eren thought as he looked down to see his friends.

"Mikasa? Armin? And even Josiah? What are you doing? If you stay down there, Titans will get you!"

Soldiers all around Eren were getting eaten so that Eren could reach the gate. Ian rushed towards a soldier who was about to get eaten, throwing him out of harm's way and sacrificing himself in the process.

"Another Titan?" Mikasa moved out of the way. "I'll handle it!"

Josiah used his maneuver gear to fly towards the Titan. "Out of the way!" He shouted as he sliced the Titans right eye out.

"Mikasa, I leave this to you!" Josiah yelled, moving out of the way for Mikasa to make the final blow as Eren continued onwards until he was in front of the hole.

"Go, Eren!" Armin shouted.

Eren roared as he threw the boulder to the hole, sealing it shut. He then sat down, seeming as he had no energy left.

"Everyone... You didn't die in vain..." Rico mumbled to herself as she shot a yellow flare signal. "Today, for the first time, humanity has defeated the Titans!"

Josiah let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in.

"The rest of the Titans are coming! Get up the walls!" Rico ordered.

"We'll evacuate after we get Eren." Mikasa informed. "Armin? How's Eren?"

Armin was struggling to get Eren out. "He's so hot, I can barely believe it! We need to hurry up the walls... Part of his body is fusing with the Titan. I can't pull him out!" He exclaimed.

"We'll have to cut him out." Josiah informed.

"Wait!" Mikasa protested as Josiah cuts the flesh, releasing Eren. Two Titans then appeared.

"Eren! Armin! Josiah!" Mikasa shouted. Eren then opened his eyes as someone flies in and kills both Titans, landing on one.

"Wings of Freedom..." Eren thinks to himself, looking at the cape. The person then turned around. It was none other than Captain Levi of the Survey Corps.

"Hey, brats. What's going on here?" Levi asked.

Afterwards, the sudden arrival and assistance of the Survey Corps, along with the efforts of the Garrison's engineers, allowed Wall Rose to withstand the Titans once more.

It took a full day to eradicate the remaining Titans now trapped within Trost. The barrage of fixed canon fire from atop the walls was endless.

HE rounds killed most of the Titans swarming the walls. The few surviving Titans were primarily killed by the Survey Corps.

During that operation, humanity managed to take one 4-meter class and one 7-meter class alive. However, 207 were dead or missing, and 897 were wounded.

Humanity had indeed scored its first victory against the Titans, but there were too many casualties for anyone to celebrate.

Two days after the attack on Trost, most of the cadets were cleaning up the dead corpses that scattered throughout the town. Jean's hands were shaking until he noticed something that made him widened his eyes.

"Hey... You're... Marco...?" Jean mumbled.

"Trainee, do you know his name?" A nurse asked.

"I knew I hadn't seen him around... But this couldn't have happened to him..." Jean muttered. "Marco, what happened? D-Did anyone... Did anyone see how he died?"

"What's his name?" The nurse asked once more. "If you know, tell me now. Do you understand, trainee? It's already been two days since the hole was sealed. And we still haven't finished collecting the bodies. At this rate, there could be an epidemic. We must avert a second tragedy. There isn't time to mourn your friend yet. Understand?"

"104th Trainee Corps. Captain of Squad 19, Marco Bolt." Jean finally replied.

"Marco, then? I'm glad we have a name. Let's get back to work." The nurse said.
