Sidney Prescott normally would be awoken from the loudness of Corey Becker pounding on her door. Demanding she get her ass out of bed and ready, but today she was greeted by silence.

The duo wouldn't consider themselves friends, they'd only walk to school together. He refused to take Casey's boyfriends flashy ass car.

So one day when he was walking along the sidewalk he bumped into Sidney. They didn't talk, they just walked to school together and it became a habit for every single day.

But today was different, she watched her fathers car disappear down the road. Not a single sight of Corey along the sidewalk, so she walked alone.

The second she stepped foot into the school grounds her gaze found the utter chaos of police cars and news reporters. She felt uneasy as she keeps walking trying to ignore everything.

Someone taps her shoulder and she spins around slightly and smiles at the sight of Tatum.

"Do you believe this shit?" the girl looked around and Sidney for once felt lost. "What happened?" Tatum looked surprised as she looked at Sidney.

The duo walked along the grass, the crowd around them slowly disappearing from there sights.

"Oh God! You don't know? Casey Becker and Steve Forrest were killed last night. And apparently Casey's brother Corey tried to fight off whoever killed them, he's one lucky bastard, nearly bleed out to death on his lawn, but he got saved in time".

"No way! Corey Becker walks with me to school every morning, that would explain why he didn't today. And Casey Becker, She sits next to me in English class".

"Not anymore. Her parents found her hanging from a tree. Her insides on the outside. I feel kinda bad for Corey, I don't know the guy but he tried really hard to save his sister, it's really sad".

Sidney smiled sadly as they walked inside the school, she could hear the chatter about the murders already. "Do they know who did it?" Tatum looked annoyed as she pushed open her locker.

"Fucking clueless, they're interrogating the entire school. Teachers, students, staff, janitors and they're waiting for Corey to wake up, hoping he'll give a statement about what he saw".

Sidney leaned into the lockers she felt sick as she held tightly onto her bag. "Do you think Corey will be able to tell them who the killer is?".

Tatum sighed "honestly I don't know. He's been in the hospital all night, Dewey said there's been guards outside his room. He also said this is the worst crime they've ever seen..Even worse than..."

She stops herself from speaking pushing her locker shut as they walk down the hallway towards class.

"Well it's bad. They're bringing in the feds. This is like really big Sidney". Before they could enter the classroom Sidney stops herself.

"You think they'd let me see Corey?" Tatum seems surprised by the girls words "I mean I don't think he's awake yet, and besides I thought you guys weren't friends".

Sidney sighed "we aren't, but I just feel like I should talk to him, something is telling me to". Tatum blinked "It doesn't hurt to try, just be careful". Tatum walks into the classroom and Sidney sighs as she walks towards the front entrance.

Corey Becker laid on the hospital bed with needle after needle jabbing into his flesh. He could hear the soft murmurs of nurses tending to him every so often, and he just couldn't bring himself to open his eyes yet. Not when he knew what waited for him. The door opened with a weak squeak making him annoyed as he pinched his eyes shut.

"Uh Corey?" her voice sounded so soft as he opened his eyes. "Sidney?" he looked at her with surprise as he sat up slowly. He ignored the pain he felt as he watched her approach him.

"I heard about what happened, I know we don't really talk much, maybe a few times whenever we walk to school, but I wanted to see if you were okay". He rubbed at his eyes as he sighed "I'll be fine, doctors said if the killer had went over by like one centimeter I would've bleed out to death".

He smiled weakly "I guess it wasn't my time yet, the killer was so focused on Casey. I think they were to busy killing her to even notice me. My parents found me in time, I was scared for a second I'd be strung up on that damn tree too".

Sidney sat down in the hard plastic chair beside the bed. "Do you know who did it?" he thought about that mask, the way it taunted his dreams.

"They wore a ghostface mask, they didn't wanna be seen, but I know this much, I cut the son of a bitch on his arm, so he'd definitely have a scar".

"A ghostface mask?" He nodded as he grabbed a cup of water off the table beside him. "Casey was going to watch a movie with Steve, but he was running late, she was making popcorn when she called me and said some creep was on the phone".

He shivered at the thought of hearing that voice again, his grasp tightened on his cup. "I thought it was a joke at first, just some kids making a prank call to scare us. But it wasn't a joke".

Sidney smiled sadly "I'm sorry" he leaned back letting out a weak chuckle. "Did Sidney Prescott just apologize to me? You didn't do anything".

She shrugged her shoulders "I guess I'm just sorry that someone did this to you, this place was practically filled with new reporters when I walked inside, it can be pretty draining".

He blinked "I bet it's bringing back memories for you, with what happened with your mother. They keep sneaking in here, trying to get me to say something about what happened, I just act like I'm sleeping until they leave".

Sidney sighed "they'll always be there, no matter where you go, they'll just keep showing up". He smiled sadly "my parents are already planning on moving, I told them I didn't want to leave Woodsboros, which I know sounds pretty crazy".

"I can get that, not wanting to leave, after my mom my dad thought maybe I'd wanna just move, start over somewhere else".

She smiled sadly and Corey let out a weak hum "my parents are gonna let me stay with Dewey for a few nights, just until they get everything fixed at the house, or until they figured out where we're gonna move next".

Sidney couldn't help but smile "Tatum is letting me stay there until my dad gets back from his trip, this whole killer thing is making me pretty nervous".

The door opened and a nurse walked inside "visiting hours are over sweetie, you can come back tomorrow afternoon". Corey huffed "I guess that's my cue to say goodbye, I'll see you tomorrow Sidney, hopefully I'm out of this shit hole".

Sidney nodded as she stood up and then she was gone and Corey felt the paranoia slip back into his bones. He couldn't escape that fucking mask.
