Chapter - 13

Namjoon stormed into the office, his brow furrowed in anger as he demanded to know who leaked the sensitive information about the note. Jackson, who had been caught off guard by Namjoon's sudden appearance, could only gulp nervously in response.

"I don't know," he stammered, feeling the weight of Namjoon's intense gaze boring into him. Namjoon clenched his fists, his jaw tightening in frustration.

Namjoon slammed the files on the table in frustration, his eyes flashing with anger. "Argh... the head officer is blaming me," he muttered through gritted teeth, his frustration evident in his tone.

Jackson's brow furrowed in concern as he asked, "Oh. Do you have any idea how to find that boy?" The weight of the situation hung heavily in the air as they contemplated their next steps.

"I don't know," Namjoon replied, his mind racing with questions. "How are they so sure that he was missing?" The uncertainty of the situation gnawed at him, leaving them both grappling for answers in the face of mounting pressure.

"Many students saw him at university this morning. And he usually hangs around with his friends, but today he didn't. So they reported it and searched for him everywhere. But couldn't find him," Jackson explained, his voice filled with concern as he relayed the sequence of events.

Namjoon nodded thoughtfully, processing the information. "Did you check the CCTV footage?" he asked, his mind already formulating a plan to track down the missing boy.

"He is seen talking to the gardener this morning before going to the library," Jackson informed Namjoon, providing a key piece of information that could potentially lead them closer to finding the missing student.

Namjoon's brows furrowed in thought as he inquired, "What about the footage in the library?"

Jackson hesitated before replying, "Um- It's not working from today morning," revealing a setback in their investigation that added another layer of mystery to the situation.

Y/N walked over to the shelf at the library, her gaze scanning the rows of books as she searched for a particular title. Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly collided with something, causing her to lose her balance. Thankfully, she caught hold of the shelf just in time to prevent herself from falling.

Y/N wondered what was lying in the middle of the library and turned around, her eyes scanning the floor. A gasp escaped her lips as her gaze landed on the pool of blood, stark against the muted library surroundings. Her heart thudded loudly in her chest, fear and shock coursing through her veins.

As the realization of the grisly scene sunk in, a primal scream tore from Y/N's throat, the sound reverberating off the walls of the library. Her hands flew to cover her mouth, her eyes wide with horror as she stumbled back, a sense of dread filling her every fiber.

As everyone in the library exchanged alarmed glances, a sense of urgency filled the air. Taehyung and Jimin acted swiftly, pushing through the crowd to reach the scene of the unsettling. Their eyes widened in sync with the others as they took in the scene before them, a mixture of concern and disbelief reflected in their expressions.

The sight of Y/N lying unconscious on the floor, surrounded by a pool of blood, sent a shiver down their spines. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on everyone as they exchanged glances, realizing the severity of what had transpired.

"Y/N?" Taehyung's voice was filled with concern as he rushed towards the girl who lay unconscious on the floor, his heart pounding with worry. Kneeling beside her, he gently tried to rouse her, his voice pleading, "Y/N? Yah! Wake up. Someone get me some water!"

The chaos and fear in the library intensified as onlookers scrambled to assist, bringing water to Taehyung as he hovered over Y/N, his expression etched with a mixture of fear and determination to help her.

"Here," a voice offered, handing Taehyung a bottle of water amidst the chaos in the library. Without hesitation, Taehyung opened the bottle and gently splashed some water on Y/N's face, his voice filled with concern as he urged her to wake up.

"Hey, wake up," Taehyung's worried tone resonated in the air as Y/N gradually opened her eyes, her vision slightly blurry. As the events that had transpired flooded back into her mind, a sense of panic gripped her, her breath quickening as she tried to make sense of the situation unfolding around her.

"S-Sehun... I saw...," Y/N began, her voice trembling with fear and uncertainty as she tried to relay what she had witnessed. Taehyung gently patted her shoulder, his touch a comforting reassurance as he tried to calm her racing thoughts.

"It's okay. Just relax," Taehyung whispered soothingly, enveloping Y/N in a supportive hug. The chaotic energy in the library seemed to momentarily fade away, replaced by a comforting stillness as Taehyung held her close, offering a moment of respite amidst the storm.

"I am scared," Y/N murmured softly, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and vulnerability. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around Taehyung's neck, seeking solace in his comforting presence, and began to sob.

"Shh... It's okay. I am here, alright?" Taehyung's voice was gentle and filled with empathy as he stroked her hair soothingly, his touch a gesture of support. "Now let's get you out of here, can we?" he suggested, his concern for her well-being evident in his words as nodded through her tears.

"Same murderer!" Hoseok exclaimed, his gaze fixed on Jackson and Namjoon.

"How are you so sure?" Jackson inquired, his voice laced with curiosity and concern.

"Here," Hoseok replied, handing them a note that he had found. They read the words scrawled across it: "Beware? What the-," Jackson muttered, his confusion evident.

"No wonder the library CCTV was not working," Namjoon interjected, connecting the dots as the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place. The mysterious note hinted at a hidden danger lurking within the library, revealing a chilling connection to the missing student and the unsettling scene they had just witnessed.

"I want to interrogate the librarian, the gardener, and the girl who found the body first," Namjoon declared, his voice firm and determined. He turned on his heel, his mind already shifting into investigative mode, as he walked away to carry out his plan as Jackson and the others exchanged apprehensive glances, understanding the gravity of the situation at hand.

Y/N and Taehyung sat together on the university grounds, Y/N's head resting on Taehyung's shoulder as he held her hand, providing a comforting squeeze.

As Y/N's friends approached to offer their support, Taehyung kindly requested some time alone for her to gather her thoughts and find some peace. He understood the importance of giving her space to process the recent events and heal in her own time. Taehyung was determined to do whatever it took to bring a smile back to Y/N's face.

"So...," Taehyung began, his voice gentle  he broke the silence, wanting to engage Y/N in a conversation that might provide some ease and distraction from the weight they each carried.

"What?" Y/N asked, shifting her head from Taehyung's shoulder and looking at him, curiosity etched on her face.

"So... what were you talking to that jerk this morning?" Taehyung inquired, his voice tinged with a touch of mischief.

"The only jerk I talked to was you," Y/N retorted playfully, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips.

"Very funny," Taehyung chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm talking about Jungkook," he clarified, his tone becoming more serious as he referred him.

"Hey, he's not a jerk," Y/N defended, a hint of protest evident in her voice, and Taehyung couldn't help but roll his eyes in response.

"Whatever," he replied dismissively. "So, tell me. What were you talking to him?" Taehyung pressed, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"Why? Are you jealous?" Y/N smirked, playfully teasing him.

"W-why should I be j-jealous. It's just..." Taehyung stumbled over his words, his gaze avoiding hers. "I don't want you to jump from the roof," he said, rolling his eyes.

"Ok then. I'm not telling," Y/N said, her tone firm as she rose from the bench.

"Yah, alright. I'm just curious, tell me," Taehyung pleaded, holding her hand gently, not wanting to let her go.

"Oh, really? Curious? It's none of your business anyway," Y/N replied, her voice laced with a playful yet assertive tone. She looked at him, her eyes searching for his reaction. "I'm going to the hostel. Are you coming?" she asked, a mix of invitation and challenge in her gaze.

"No, I'm not going anywhere until you tell me," Taehyung asserted, crossing his arms over his chest and pouting like a stubborn child.

Y/N rolled her eyes affectionately, finding his playfulness endearing. "Stop being stubborn. Come on," she urged, attempting to pull his arm to get him to move.

However, Taehyung stood his ground, refusing to budge. "Fine," she relented with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "He asked me if he could talk to me for a moment, and I told him I was busy. Are you happy now?" Y/N replied, voicing her irritation at his persistence.

Y/N's annoyance melted away as she saw his signature boxy smile, filled with happiness. Ignoring his gleeful expression, she simply rolled her eyes and turned around, walking ahead without waiting for him to catch up.

"Yaahh... Wait for me," he called out, a playful tone in his voice, before breaking into a run to catch up with her. Although he knew she hadn't fully forgotten about the incident, he found solace in the fact that their playful banter had helped lighten the mood, at least for the moment.
