FLASHBACK (The Day Sehun Died)

Sehun was jolted awake by the sound of his phone ringing, the shrill noise cutting through the peaceful silence of his room. He fumbled for the device, his heart pounding as he answered, still half-asleep and disoriented.

"Hello?" Sehun muttered, rubbing his eyes in an attempt to wake up fully.

"Good morning~ Enjoy your last day~" a chilling, unfamiliar voice came through the other end, sending a cold shiver down Sehun's spine.

Sehun's brow furrowed in confusion as he tried to make sense of the ominous words that had been spoken to him. "Huh?" he asked, puzzled by the cryptic message that had shattered his peaceful slumber.

"Next is you, Sehun ssi," the caller informed, causing Sehun's heart to skip a beat and his sleepiness to evaporate instantly.

"W- What- Who are y- you?" Sehun stammered, his voice trembling with fear as he struggled to grasp the situation. The caller's laughter sent chills down his spine, and when they forebodingly mentioned he would soon find out, a wave of dread washed over him.

"Hello? Hello?" Sehun called out in desperation, but the line went dead, leaving him alone with his racing thoughts and the unsettling warning ringing in his ears.

-

Sehun's heart raced as he walked to the campus, the memory of the chilling phone call still fresh in his mind. Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him, sending a jolt of fear through his body. He quickened his pace, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end as he approached the spot where Irene's body had been discovered.

His breath quickened as he felt a sense of unease wash over him, the silence of the empty campus now feeling suffocating. In his haste to escape, he accidentally collided with a bucket, the loud clatter causing him to trip and fall to the ground. Water from the bucket soaked his shoes, sending a chill through him.

Cursing under his breath, Sehun scrambled to his feet and ran, ignoring the discomfort of his wet shoes as he sprinted through the garden. The sense of foreboding only grew stronger, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched, the memory of the mysterious caller's words haunting him every step of the way.

Sehun's heart was still pounding when the gardener's voice startled him. "Kid! Why don't you just clean those shoes before walking on the grass?" the gardener asked, annoyance evident in his tone.

Sehun looked down at his soaked and muddy shoes, feeling a pang of guilt for dirtying the pristine grass. "Oh, sorry," he mumbled, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Weren't you coming from the dormitory? Then where did you get all this mud on your shoes?" the gardener questioned, a curious expression on his face.

Sehun hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to explain the situation without causing alarm. "Um- I don't know. I should be going now. Or I will be l- late," he stammered, eager to escape the awkward conversation about his muddy shoes as he tried to push aside the lingering sense of unease that had been following him since the unsettling phone call.

Sehun's steps faltered as he heard his name being called upon entering the library. Turning around, he spotted Jungkook approaching him, his expression unreadable. Sehun felt a twinge of annoyance, as he had never particularly liked Jungkook.

"What is it, Jungkook ssi?" he asked, his tone brimming with disinterest.

Jungkook held out a book towards him, stating, "Oh, got it from my locker. I think it's yours."

Sehun reluctantly took the book, an air of mutual dislike hanging between the two of them. He couldn't help but wonder how it ended up in  Jungkook's locker, and the suspicion in his eyes mirrored Jungkook's own lack of enthusiasm.

Sehun furrowed his brows, confusion evident on his face as he examined the book in his hands. "How did it come in your locker?" he asked, genuinely perplexed by the situation.

Jungkook shrugged, his demeanor guarded. "I don't know. Anyway, see you later," he replied curtly, but instead of leaving, he remained rooted to his spot, his gaze fixed upon Sehun with a faint glimmer of animosity.

"What?" Sehun couldn't help but ask, suspicion tingling at the back of his mind.

Jungkook offered no response, a cold silence hanging between them. With a dismissive wave, he muttered a final "Nothing, bye," and turned away, leaving Sehun to watch his retreating figure with a mix of curiosity and unease. Uncertain of what had transpired, Sehun stood there for a moment, his thoughts whirling with questions, before eventually deciding to continue his original intention of finding solace among the library's vast collection of books.

Sehun's eyes narrowed with suspicion as he observed Jungkook, carefully placing the book in his bag. But as he did so, a small folded piece of paper slipped out from between the pages, drifting silently to the floor. His heart skipping a beat, Sehun quickly stooped down to retrieve it, his hands trembling as he unfolded the paper.

His breath hitched as his eyes scanned the ominous message written on the paper: 'YOU ARE NEXT.' The words seemed to taunt him, sending a chill down his spine. Suddenly, he became acutely aware of his surroundings, feeling the weight of gazes from unknown corners of the library.

Nervously glancing around, Sehun hastily crumpled the paper in his hand and shoved it into his pocket. His mind racing with fear and confusion, he clenched his jaw and walked away as swiftly as he could, the sound of his rapid footsteps echoing in his ears. The once-familiar sanctuary of the library now felt suffocating, haunted by the menacing presence of unknown threats.

-

Sehun sat in the library, his mind consumed with thoughts of the mysterious note and the bone-chilling phone call. Panic began to set in as he contemplated the meaning behind the cryptic message. With each passing moment, his anxiety intensified, causing him to feel like he was on the verge of unraveling.

As the bell rang, signaling the departure of the other students to their respective classes, Sehun contemplated whether he should follow suit or remain in the library. He eventually decided it was best to stay, finding solace in the quiet and familiar surroundings as he grappled with his mounting fear.

However, his solitude was short-lived as a voice interrupted his thoughts. "All alone, huh? Brave," someone taunted, taking a seat in front of Sehun.

His eyes narrowed, Sehun stared at the intruder and asked, his voice tinged with a mixture of defiance and unease, "What do you want?" The presence of this stranger only deepened his feeling of unease, and he couldn't shake the sense that danger lurked nearby.

Sehun's eyes widened in shock as he realised his words, catching him off guard. The memories of Irene's tragic fate surged to the forefront of his mind, intensifying his fear. "I-It was you?" he stammered, his voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and anxiety. The once comforting and peaceful library now felt suffocatingly creepy in its emptiness.

He chuckled, his smile unnerving as he took a step closer. "Never thought, huh?" he uttered, revealing a twisted satisfaction in his dark revelation.

Feeling a surge of panic, Sehun's instincts kicked in. "Don't come near me," he warned, his voice quivering with a newfound determination. Slowly, he began to back away, his eyes fixed warily on the stranger who was suddenly clouded in suspicion and malevolence. Sehun's heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing as he desperately sought an escape from this encounter that was beginning to unfold like a nightmare.

Sehun's heart pounded in his chest as the killer's eerie smirk filled him with a sense of dread. His instincts screamed at him to run, and without thinking twice, he turned and sprinted away towards the nearest exit.

In his haste, Sehun accidentally collided with a girl, sending them both crashing to the ground. Despite the commotion, he didn't allow himself to pause, fearfu of the killer catching up to him. He quickly scrambled to his feet and ran away, his eyes glancing back nervously to ensure he wasn't being pursued.

From behind him, he heard an irritated voice shouting, "Yah! Can't you see where you're going?"

Fear and guilt flooded him as he realized he had caused inconvenience to someone else in his frantic escape. But he couldn't afford to stop and explain. With his heart still racing, Sehun continued to flee, hoping to find safety and distance himself from the unsettling events that seemed to be closing in on him.

Sehun glanced back briefly, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of the ominous stranger, before making a beeline towards the back door of the library. His mind raced with frantic thoughts, desperately searching for a way to elude his pursuer and find safety.

Determined to reach a classroom where he could potentially find help, Sehun's heart pounded with adrenaline as he neared the exit. However, just as he was about to reach the door, he was abruptly grabbed from behind. A hand swiftly covered his mouth and nose, and he felt a piece of cloth pressed against his face.

Panicking, Sehun's vision began to blur, black dots forming and dancing before his eyes. A wave of dizziness washed over him, his body growing weak as his consciousness began to fade. With his last ounce of strength, he desperately fought against the suffocating darkness that engulfed him, but ultimately succumbed to its relentless grip, collapsing to the ground in a state of unconsciousness.

"Aish, I almost got caught because of you," the killer muttered in frustration before forcefully dragging Sehun away from the scene. The world around Sehun faded into darkness as the killer's sinister intentions unfolded, leaving him at the mercy of a dangerous fate.

-

Sehun's eyes fluttered open, only to be greeted by the chilling reality of his predicament. The room was shrouded in darkness, and he felt the cold, hard floor beneath him. Panic surged through his veins as he realized his hands and legs were tightly bound, leaving him immobilized.

His captor's voice echoed through the darkness, dripping with a twisted amusement. "Aww... you woke up. I'm sorry for tying you up. Last time, your friend tried to escape," the killer taunted, a twisted smile etched across his face.

Fury burned in Sehun's eyes as he mustered the strength to speak against his captor's deranged words. "You are sick. Leave me," he asserted, his voice filled with defiance.

The killer's laughter permeated the eerie silence, their amusement at Sehun's resistance evident. The sound sent shivers down Sehun's spine, amplifying the gravity of his circumstances.

Sehun's heart constricted with a mix of confusion and fear as the killer revealed his unsettling motives. The intensity in the killer's voice sent chills down his spine, making the dark room feel even more oppressive.

"What did we do to you?" Sehun asked, his voice trembling with a combination of anxiety and genuine bewilderment.

The killer's eyes burned with a seething anger, their teeth clenched in resentment. "You don't remember?" the killer spat. "Don't worry, I will remind you, Sehun ssi."

With those haunting words hanging in the air, Sehun's mind raced, desperately trying to recollect any past encounters or actions that could have sparked this dangerous obsession. As the room remained cloaked in shadows, he braced himself for the harrowing memories that were about to surface, his heart weighed down by a growing dread of the truth that awaited him.
