CHAPTER THREE - BULLIES SUCK

AFTER THE GAME, Daigo went to see Kise. "Gemini's horoscope predicted terrible luck for you today, Either way, it was an unfortunate game." He heard a certain green haired shooter say. "By the way, today's item is a toy frog. That's why my shots never miss." A stuffed frog was in his left hand as he showed it to Kise.

Daigo sighed. "Midorima, no one cares about that horoscope shit but you." He informed.

"I've never understood that last part. This is the Generation of Miracles' number one shooter." Kise thinks to himself.

The toy frog ended up leaving his hand. "Man, that was dangerous." Kise commented.

"Mr. Ribbit!" Midorima exclaimed.

"Mr. Ribbit?" Kise questioned.

"Mr. Ribbit!" Midorima shouted as he kneeled down on the ground.

"It's bad enough you have to carry that stupid thing with you, you had to give it a name as well?" Daigo said as he sweatdropped.

"There is no way we will lose to Seirin." Midorima stated after he got himself together. At his statement, Daigo laughed.

"Don't get cocky, Midorima. If you watched the match, you've seen what kind of players we have. And well, they have me. Daiki is my older brother you know." Daigo reminded him.

"Anyway, I better get back to my team. I told them to wait for me. It was nice seeing you again, Midorima." Daigo said as he walked away from them.

He finally arrived back with his team. Kuroko was already there. "Hey, sorry to keep you guys waiting." Daigo apologized.

Daigo watched as his teammates cheered for their victory. "By the way, Daigo. Where did you run off too?" Kagami asked as they were walking back.

"Hmm? Oh, I forgot something." Daigo replied.

The Seirin team ended up at a steak place. "Why do you think I make you run every day?" Riko asked as her arms were crossed.

"It wasn't for basketball?" Everyone thought.

Everyone, excluding Riko, began eating the steak. "I should know by now that this is how she is." Hyuga thought.

Everyone stopped eating as they were full. However, Kagami finished his steak. "Huh? If you're not gonna eat that, can I have it?" He asked.

The team started giving their plates to him. "Save me the hassle and please bring them all over here." Kagami said.

They all walked outside. "Huh? Where's Kuroko?" Kagami asked.

"I'm sure he's near the back, just like he always..." Izuki started to say. They turned around but found him not there.

Kagami and Daigo finally found Kuroko talking to Kise. "Don't go running off on your own like that, Kuroko!" Kagami said as he kicked Kuroko's back.

"Bakagami! Don't give Tetsu another injury!" Daigo scolded as he smacked the back of Kagami's head.

"That hurt, Daigo!" Kagami complained, rubbing his head.

"Huh... Daigocchi treats Kagamicchi the same way he did his brother back then..." Kise thought, remembering.

"You're annoying me, Daiki! Stop being cocky!" Daigo smacked the back of his older twin's head.

"What the hell was that for, Daigo?!" Daiki shouted.

"But he's right, Tetsu. The whole team is currently on a search party for you." Daigo informed, snapping Kise from his thoughts.

"Sorry for worrying you..." Kuroko said.

"You were good in today's match, Kagamicchi." Kise told him.

"I sure as hell was. What the hell are you kidnapping Kuroko for?" Kagami asked. "The coach won't shut up about responsibilty or something."

Kuroko went up to a few high schoolers that were bullying some kids on a court. "There's nothing fair about this." He said, spinning a basketball on his finger.

"And what do you know?" A brown haired guy asked.

"This isn't basketball. Besides, violence is bad." Kuroko replied.

"Let's settle this with basketball." The guy challenged. Kagami, Daigo, and Kise then walked up to them.

"Why'd you get involved, bastard?" Kagami questioned as he had his palm on Kuroko's hair.

"It's Tetsu we're talking about here." Daigo reminded him as he sighed.

"T-They're huge!" All of the guys exclaimed in their head.

Daigo chuckled at their reactions to him and Kagami. "I guess seeing two basketball players that are over 6 feet are scary to them." He thinks to himself.

"Mind if we join?" Kise asked.

Kise had taken off his gray blazer as Kuroko, Kagami, and Daigo took off their basketball jackets. The four of them began playing the group of bullies.

A few moments later, the match ended with the bullies on the ground. "They destroyed them." The three kids that were being picked on said in unison.

Daigo was wearing a black tank top as he held his basketball jacket with his left hand over his shoulder. "Did you think you could win if it turned into a fight?!" Kagami shouted at Kuroko. "You should've considered the consequences first!"

"Leave him alone, Bakagami." Daigo said.

"Daigo!" Kagami exclaimed.

"They were terrible. We were only teaching them a lesson that they shouldn't look down on people just because they're stronger." Daigo stated.

"Well, I better get going." Kise said as he swung his gray blazer over his shoulder. "I finally got to play with you, Kurokocchi, Daigocchi." He said as he smiled.

"Don't lose in the preliminaries!" Kise shouted.

"We'll beat them. Besides, you're the one who said I couldn't do it alone." Kagami stated.

"Kagami, that was pretty deep." Kuroko commented after Kagami's statement.

"Tetsu has a point. Who knew Bakagami could say deep things." Daigo agreed.

"Shut up you two!" Kagami shouted at them.

They finally walked back when Riko spotted them. "There you are! Geez!" Riko shouted as she crashed into Kuroko.

"Just walk away and ignore..." Daigo muttered as the rest of the team walked by Kuroko getting beat up by the brunette.

The next day in class, Daigo jolted at the sound of a hand slamming on someone's head. He turned around and saw Kagami's hand on the teachers head.

"Huh?" Kagami muttered, confused.

"Come to the faculty office later." The teacher told him.

Daigo went back to taking a nap as he covered his eyes with his hand. "Sleeping in class is Daiki's thing. But I'm exhausted from yesterday's practice game." He thought.

"Why didn't they get in trouble?" Kagami thinks to himself, looking in front of him at Daigo and then at the back of him at Kuroko.

Later, the first-years met the second-years in the hallway. "Go buy some bread." Riko said.

"Huh?" Kagami said in confusion.

"Bread?" Fukuda questioned.

"From the cafeteria. It always gets a little busier than usual." Riko replied as Hyuga gave a knowing look.

"That's easy as pie... ma'am." Kagami said.

"Here. The second-years will be paying for it, and if you don't get it you won't be doing the regular training menu. Instead, you'll be doing three times as much training and footwork.

"If you don't hurry, they'll sell out." Izuki added.

All of the first years saw the lunch rush. "We have to go. Three times the strength training and footwork will kill us." Kagami informed.

"I'm pretty sure that's just you, Bakagami." Daigo told him as a tick mark appeared on his forehead.

Kawahara ran towards the line first. But he ended up getting shoved out of the line. "Sounds interesting. Let's do this, Daigo!" Kagami said as he started running.

"Hey! Don't drag me into this, Bakagami!" Daigo shouted as he followed his best friend. However, they both ended up getting shoved to the ground.

"This is Japanese lunch time rush!" Kagami exclaimed in English.

"Now you act American?" Daigo sighed in disappointment.

"We've got to go together." Kawahara informed. "Seirin, fight!"

Kawahara, Furihata, and Fukuda all rushed to the line. However, they kept getting thrown back each time. "This isn't easy!" They all thought.

"Sorry, Fukuda!" Kagami said as he grabbed the male by the collar and threw him in the crowd. He got on his back as he surfed through. However, they ended up going being kicked back.

"Excuse me. I got the sandwhich." Kuroko said, holding the sandwhich.

"You? How?" Kagami exclaimed as he held onto Kuroko's collar. Kuroko explained that he was pushed through and left some money.

"What's wrong?" Kuroko asked as Kawahara, Furihata, and Fukuda paled at his explanation.

"It's nothing." Kawahara replied.

They all met the second-years back on the rooftop. "Good work. Thanks. Here, we have some juice." Riko said, handing them two juice boxes.

"It's fine. You guys eat it." Izuki said when Kawahara offered it to them.

Kuroko ended up taking the first bite. "It's incredibly delicious." Kuroko said as he sparkled. One by one, the other first-years took a bite.

"It's delicious! Is this what you call a harmony of flavors?" Fukuda questioned.

"The juiciness of the pork and the sweetness of the foie gras and the acidity of the caviar..." Furihata added.

"Aomine? You want any?" Kawahara offered.

"No thanks." Daigo denied.

"Kagami what about you?"

Kagami was eating a super long BLT. "As long as it's food, I don't care." He replied.

"What are you saying?" Kawahara, Furihata, and Fukuda asked in unison.

They were all back in the gym. "Captain, I got copies of the preliminary tournament bracket!" Hyuga then explained about the Inter-High and how it worked.

"But you're wrong about one thing." Kagami informed as he talked about Shutoku. "On top of that, just like Kaijo, they have one of the Generation of Miracles join their team. If we play against the Generation of Miracles, it'll be in the championship game."

Riko got back from watching a Shinkyo game. "One of their players might give us some trouble." Riko said, handing Hyuga her phone.

"He's an exchange student from Senegal." Riko explained.

"He's just big." Kagami commented like it was no big deal.

"Kuroko, give him a nickname." Riko said.

"How about 'Dad' then?" Kuroko suggested.

"Where's your naming sense?" Koganei questioned.

"For this Dad, we'll have to..." Riko trailed off as everyone except Kuroko was laughing at a pun Izuki made. They stopped when Riko got their attention again.

"Our next opponent, Shinkyo High, was only a middle tier school until last year, when they got Dad. They can't reach high enough. Because of this one simple reason, no one can stop him." Riko explained.

The Seirin team began training hard before their match with Shinkyo. The day finally arrived as everyone was in their uniforms. "Let's go!" Hyuga said.

"You couldn't sleep again?" Kuroko asked Kagami.

"S-Shut up." Kagami muttered.
