Throughout the seven years, Samuel did everything he could to make sure Fairy Tail didn't come crumbling down completely, and he made sure that the Tenrou team had homes to come back to, including keeping up with their rent.

He ends up meeting Sting Eucliffe when retrieving an artifact from a volcano had gone wrong. Sam would do anything to make sure he had enough money to keep Fairy Tail running, and if that meant he had to hook up with a cocky, egotistical, Dragon Slayer from Sabertooth, then that's the way it had to be.

At the age of 19, Sam's older brother and his heroes miraculously make their return. Coming to find out that they weren't dead, but in stasis for seven years.

And this time, he is determined to not let any of them go again.

I put "kind of" in parenthesis because Sting and Samuel aren't really enemies, Samuel just doesn't like him in the beginning.

Also, most of Gray and Samuel's songs in their playlist relate to the kind of angst I'm going to create for them in the Alvarez Empire Arc. If you saw Samuel's quotes, you know what'll come up. It was the same plan I had for the original :)
