CHAPTER SIX - HANGAR HEIST

"I CAN'T GET OVER HOW sick your rocket looks, Ravi." Devon was saying as Ravi sets his rocket down on the launch pad. I was currently wearing a long-sleeved black sweatshirt with dark colored jeans.

Zoey chuckled. "Let's see how it flies." She added.

"Our rocket's good. I think we can do it."

"Okay, let's do it. We got this."

Devon, Ravi, Zoey, and I backed up a bit. "Three, two... one. Blast off!" Ravi said as he pressed the red button and the rocker launched in the air.

"Look at it go!" Zoey exclaimed.

"NASADA, here I come." Ravi stated.

We all chuckled. "All right, Ravi!" Devon said.

Next, it was Ben and Betty's turn while Devon, Ravi, Zoey, and I watched. "I'll take this. Come on, sis." Ben said.

"Check this baby out." Betty told us.

"Wow!" Zoey breathed out.

"That's nice!" I complimented.

"I wonder where they got it from." Devon said.

Ben pressed the red button as nothing happened. "What's wrong, Ben?" Betty questioned.

"I don't..." Ben trailed off as he kept pressing the button. "Why won't it...?"

"Let me try." Betty told her brother as she took the device from him.

I noticed that the launch pad was wobbling. "Uh, hang on. Betty. Don't!" Ravi shouted as Betty pressed the button.

"Look out!" I warned as the rocket flew sideways instead of up in the air as Ben and Betty ducked.

"We, uh..."

"Oh no."

"...meant to do that."

Both Ben and Betty rushed off to where the rocket was heading. They kept running from the rocket until they finally ducked for cover as they both groaned.

"You guys okay?" Devon asked.

"Told you we shouldn't have taken Dad's model rocket." Ben informed.

"That's the general's rocket?" Devon questioned.

"Yeah. And we need to get it back." Ben responded.

"Or Dad's gonna go ballistic!" Betty finished as the two siblings ran off.

"All right. My turn." Devon said, placing his rocket on the launch pad.

"I've never seen a rocket like that before." Zoey commented.

"Nor have I." I agreed.

"Made it myself." Devon stated.

"Hmm. Have you tested it?" Ravi asked. "I don't know if the fins are in the right place."

"Come on, Ravi. I have a top-ranking score in 'Rocket Sim 7'. Just watch." Devon answered as the four of us backed up.

"Three, two... one." Devon counted down, pressing the red button as the rocket launched in the air. "We have lift-off!"

The rocket then began twirling in circles. "Is it supposed to do that?" Zoey asked.

"No, no, no, no, no!" Devon exclaimed as the rocket crashed onto the ground. "My rocket!"

The four of us rushed to Devon's crashed rocket. "Oh man. What happened?" Devon questioned as we all picked up the broken pieces.

"Well, it's like I tried to tell you... you put the stabilizing fins in the wrong place." Ravi replied.

"I think I know how to build a toy rocket." Devon informed. "Something must've went wrong with one of the parts I ordered."

"I really think that you should—" Ravi started to say.

"Dude. Just let it go." Devon interrupted before walking away. Ravi, Zoey, and I all shared a look.

The four of us were at Grid Battle Force training. "Behind you, Devon!" Zoey yelled.

"Whoa, that was close." Devon stated.

"Look out!" Ravi warned.

"I'm comin' in." I said.

Commander Shaw walked into the room. "How's the simulation going?" She asked.

"Quite optimal, Commander. They're about to combine their Zords into a Megazord for the first time. This is what they're seeing." Nate replied.

"Ha! How do you like my moves?" Devon commented. "It's Megazord time."

"All right." Zoey said.

"Getting in position." I added on.

"Rocket Storm!" Devon shouted, blasting the Gigadrone.

"Nice, Devon." Zoey complimented.

"Starting combination sequence." Ravi stated as he pressed on some keys.

"Disassembly engaged." Zoey and I said in unison as we both pressed on some keys.

"Their Zords are combining now — if they can align correctly." Nate explained.

"And fight a Gigadrone at the same time." Commander Shaw added.

"It's not easy, even in a simulation." Nate stated.

"Okay, Devon. It's time to—" Ravi began.

"Hold on." Devon interrupted. "The Gigadrone's gonna attack again. I say we blast him."

"But Devon, we gotta put up the shields before—" Ravi started to explain.

"Ravi, please stop questioning me. Trust my instincts." Devon interrupted once more.

"Roger. No shields." Ravi said, not protesting anymore.

"And I was right. Here it comes." Devon informed. "Don't worry. I got this. Rocket Storm!" He shouted as lasers zapped the Gigadrone.

"Beast-X Megazord, combine!"

"Wait. Devon, it's coming right at us." Ravi told him.

"What?" Devon exclaimed as the Gigadrone attacked us.

"Simulation fail."

Devon grunted in irritation as he took off the visors while we did the same. "Man, that was annoying." He said.

"Devon, Ravi was just trying to help out." I informed.

Ravi looked at me thankfully before standing up. "I've done this simulation before with Blaze and Roxy, and—" Ravi started to say.

"And you don't think I can handle it." Devon finished. "Thanks a lot, Ravi."

Devon then left the room. "What's with him?" Ravi asked no one in particular.

The four of us arrived at the hangar that was broken into as I parked my Jeep Wrangler right behind Ravi and Zoey before exiting my car.

"Looks like we're too late. Roxy's already inside." Ravi stated.

"Come on." Devon told us.

We were running in hopes of getting there before the Gigadrone gets rebooted.

"Refueling sequence engaged." I heard the digital voice say with the help of my advanced heating.

"Run faster! Roxy's already fueling the Gigadrone with Morph-X!" I informed.

"Hey, there they are." Devon said as we finally entered the room where the Gigadrone was.

"Stop right there. I mean it." Ravi stated.

"Welcome to the party, Ravi." Roxy greeted. "You didn't have to bring your loser friends, though."

"This party's over." Devon told her.

"I disagree. We're just getting started." Roxy declared.

Meltatron attacked us with steam as we all ducked behind a table before it could reach us but the table had melted.

"That's right, Rangers. It's melting time." Roxy laughed.

"No. It's morphin' time." Devon countered. We clicked out communicators and our morphers showed up.

"Activate Beast Power!" We shouted as we morphed.

"Unleash the beast!"

Ravi and I headed for Roxy while Devon and Zoey were fighting Meltatron. The four of us were busy with our own battles, we didn't even notice the Morph-X was still going into the Gigadrone.

Well, until it was too late.

"Refueling sequence complete."

"Not good!" I commented.

"What have you done?" Ravi asked Roxy.

"You're not gonna like it!" Meltratron taunted.

"Let's see how you handle a Gigadrone without your Zords." Roxy commented.

"Slicerdrone! It's a trap!" Devon exclaimed.

"Way to point out the obvious!" I told him.

"Sure is." Roxy stated as Slicerdrone activated and was able to break out of the chains. Slicerdrone fired at us as we ducked.

"Foolish Robotron. Time to tie things up." Roxy said as she tied the four of us up. "You're not going anywhere."

"Closing all exits."

"It's been fun, but once Slicerdrone fully reboots, he'll blast this place to rubble. See ya. Wouldn't wanna be ya." Roxy informed before disappearing.

"The main hatch... it's closed." Ravi stated.

"And that door's closing too. It's our only way out!" Zoey added, looking at the door that was now closing.

"This isn't good. I... I need a plan." Devon said.

"I have an idea." Ravi spoke up as he used his strength to break his ties. "It's risky."

Ravi grunted as he broke apart Devon's ties before grabbing onto him. "There's no time to explain." He shouted before throwing Devon out of the hangar just in time for the door to close.

"Are you crazy?" Devon questioned.

"Trust me." Ravi replied before the door fully closed.

"Trust you? But you just threw me out." Devon said, using his communicator to speak to him. "I can't help you from out here."

"Devon, you can't help from in here. From outside, you can use your Zord to open up the main hatch and take down Slicerdrone." Ravi explained.

"You got the speed and the skills. You have to hurry." He finished once he released the ties off of Zoey and I.

"I can't leave you guys." Devon argued.

"You got to." Ravi told him.

Meltratron got back onto his feet as he attacked us with acid. Ravi, Zoey and I quickly dodged.

"Trust me. This is the only way. Go!" Ravi said.

Devon sighed. "Roger that." He replied before using the stairs to exit.

"It's rebooting." Ravi stated as we saw Slicerdrone activate.

"That Gigadrone can't hit us if we keep moving." Zoey informed.

"But I can, and when I do, you'll be puddles on the floor!" Meltatron exclaimed.

The three of us then began fighting Meltratron. "Can't touch this." Ravi said.

"Back off, Melty." Zoey stated before using her jumping ability to kick him.

I kicked him from behind. "Gotta watch your back." I taunted.

As Ravi, Zoey, and I were dealing with Meltratron. We were unaware that Scrozzle was stealing various tools, including a silver robot head.

"Let's wrap this up." I stated as a grabbed a wire and began wrapping Meltatron's arm using a bit of my ninja skills. "Now, Z."

"Beast-X Blast!" Zoey shouted as she fired her blaster at Meltratron while I moved out of the way just in time.

"No! My favorite weapon!" Meltatron exclaimed.

The three of us finally noticed Scrozzle. "Hey, Scrozzle!" Ravi called out.

"Oh! Time to check out." Scrozzle said before he disappeared with the equipment and a robot head.

"What did he just take?" Zoey asked.

"It's not important right now. Let's hope Devon can get through that hatch." Ravi responded.

"That robot head... I suddenly got this eerie feeling." I think to myself, remembering the silver robot head that I saw.

"The hangar door is just up ahead, Devon." Cruise informed.

"I see it. Knock, knock." Devon said before stabbing his sword into the hangar door.

"Behind you!" Cruise warned.

"Huh? A Gigadrone?" Devon questioned as he got attacked by Meltadrone.

"Commander, I think I'm gonna need some backup here." Devon stated.

Commander Shaw turned to the three Beast Bots. "Smash, Jax, Harlem, power up your Zords and help Devon." She ordered.

"Anything to help." Smash said.

"You can count on us, Commander." Jax told her.

"Let's move out." Harlem added on.

"To the rescue!" Smash exclaimed.

Meltradrone fired acid at Devon. "Our sword. It's done for." Cruise stated.

"I have an idea." Devon said, throwing the now melted sword down.

"Quick! Now's our chance!" Zoey shouted as the three of us powered up our blasters.

"Beast-X Cannon ready."

Ravi, Zoey, and I pointed out blasters towards Meltatron.

"Beast-X Cannon... blast!"

The three of us fired at Meltatron. "I'm having a meltdown!" Meltatron exclaimed as he exploded.

"Nicely done." Zoey commented.

"That's the end of that." Ravi stated. "Now we just have to hope Devon can get us out before—"

I glanced over to see that Silcerdrone began moving. "Uh, Ravi? It's a little too late for that." I interrupted as Slicerdrone headed to attack us.

"Oh no!" Ravi exclaimed as Slicerdrone fired at us.

Devon was still dealing with Meltadrone. "If that acid can melt our sword... then it can melt the door." He said, pointing the acid towards the hangar door that slowly began melting.

"It's open. Jump!" Ravi told Zoey as the three of us came out of the hangar door.

"Gotcha." Smash, Jax, and Harlem said in unison as they caught their respective Rangers on time.

"They're free." Cruise said.

Devon sighed in relief. "Whew. Are you guys OK?" He questioned.

"It was close, but we're fine, thanks to you, Team Leader." Ravi answered.

"Yeah. Now let's show these drones who they're messing with." Zoey added.

"Sounds like a plan." I agreed.

"Rapid Blast!" Zoey shouted as her and I fired from the sky.

"Rangers, stay alert. Slicerdrone is out of the hangar and fully operational." Commander Shaw warned us as they both fired.

"We've never faced two Gigadrones. We're gonna need more firepower." Ravi informed.

"You're right. It's time to form our Megazord." Devon agreed.

"We're with you, Devon." Zoey told him.

"Let's do what we do best." I added.

"Thanks. Let's start the combination sequence." Devon said.

"Got it."

"Starting combination sequence." Ravi said, pressing onto some keys.

"Disassembly engaged." Zoey and I said in unison, pressing onto some keys as well as our Zords came apart.

"Devon, your turn. Don't fire. Just activate shields." Ravi told him.

"Got it. Activating shields." Devon said, pressing the buttons above him.

"It's working!" Zoey cheered.

Slicerdrone and Meltadrone fired but their attacks didn't hit us.

"Thanks, Ravi. You were right." Devon said before pressing onto some more keys. "Now, here goes."

"Beast-X Megazord, combine!"

The Megazord slowly came together as a sword appeared in its hand.

"Beast-X Megazord unleashed!"

"All right! We formed the Megazord." Devon exclaimed.

Another attack was coming. "Energy shield." Devon said, blocking the attack. "Time to fight back. Let's activate the weapons and see what this Megazord can do."

"Powering Beast-X Blade." Zoey and I said together as the blade powered up.

"Charging main weapons." Ravi informed. "Systems green."

"Begin attack sequence." I added on.

We fired at the two Gigadrones as they were trapped into a force field. "Transport Cheetah Beast Blaster!" Devon shouted as the cheetah blaster appeared in his hands. "Beast-X Hyperstrike!"

We attacked Slicerdrone and Meltadrone together as they were finally destroyed.

"Virus eliminated."

"I don't know what you're up to, Zoey and Trent, but Betty and I are quite busy." Ben informed as Zoey and I were leading the siblings to Devon and Ravi.

"Just trust us." I told him.

"Nice work. Looks real good." Ravi complimented.

"Here they come." Devon stated as the two stood up and walked on over.

"We trust you, but we're really busy, and..." Ben trailed off.

"Yeah, we gotta tell our dad about his..." Betty stopped when we revealed the rocket on the launch pad.

"Wow! His rocket!" Betty exclaimed as Ben took off his blindfold. "It's... It's beautiful."

"You fixed it." Ben commented.

"Devon and I did. It's all ready to go." Ravi informed, hanging him the red button.

"Thank you so much." Betty said in gratitude while Ben grabbed the button.

"Don't sweat it. Ravi had some great pointers. I learned a lot. And speaking of learning a lot..." Devon turned to Ravi and sighed. "I'm sorry I didn't listen to your advice in the Sim Room. I was outta line. From now on when you have something to say, I promise I'll always listen."

"All's forgiven." Ravi told him as they both chuckled as I went over to them and swung my arm on Devon's shoulder.

"A true leader knows when he's in the wrong. Even if he doesn't want to admit it." I added on before staring at him.

"What's with that look?" Devon questioned.

I shook my head. "Don't worry about it, Dev. You just... remind me of someone I know." I responded, thinking about Brody.

"Now that I think about it, I haven't given Brody a call in a while. I seemed to have forgotten all about them ever since I met Devon, Ravi, and Z. And I told Preston I wouldn't." I noted, frowning a little.

"Now, let's test this baby out, huh?" Ben's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, slapping Betty's hand onto the button.

The rocket lifted off into the air. "It's flying perfectly!" Betty exclaimed as we all laughed.

"Great teamwork, guys." Zoey complimented as Devon and Ravi fist bumped each other. I stopped laughing for a minute.

"That silver robot head that Scrozzle stole hasn't left my mind. I just know something big is coming." I think to myself.

"More importantly, why did Nate have something like that in the first place?"

A/N: In case you haven't figured it out, Trent holds back when he's fighting so Devon, Ravi, and Zoey don't get suspicious on how he's so skilled, which I mention in the chapter he gets his Power Star back.

Question: In episode 8 when Nate becomes a Ranger, should I have Trent help him out with his research? Since I did hint about Trent's suspicions in this chapter.
