The saviours had managed to kill the walkers outside, all of them. Which wasn't good for Jaycee's people.

Jaycee had radioed to warn them, but nobody was on the other end. She had no way of warning them.

Shit was gonna go down. And she knew that. Especially when there was a loud knock on her door. What if Eugene had told negan what her and Dwight have been doing. He didn't know about, Bellamy, which was a good thing.

Jaycee let out a deep sigh, walking to the door and opening it, to see Negan. "Yeah?" She breathed out, running a hand through her hair as she looked up at Negan.

"Could be a little bit happy to see me, Jay." Negan grinned as Jaycee rolled her eyes at the nickname, letting go of the door as he walked in. "We got business to attend to at your old little home. They destroyed ours, we destroy theirs." Negan said as Jaycee frowned.

"There are kids in there, Negan. Judith, Adeline, Carl." Jaycee pointed out. "I get wanting payback for the Sanctuary, but the kids are innocent."

"There are kids here. Kids in the outposts they fired in. A goddamn baby that's gone missing." Negan told her as Jaycee bit down on her tongue.

"They wouldn't have killed the baby, if that's what you're thinking." Jaycee scoffed as she shook her head. "What are you suggesting, you lead walkers to Alexandria?"

Negan smirked as he shook his head. "Nah, I got better ideas. We're gonna blow that shit up into dust!"

Jaycee closed her eyes as she turned around, shaking her head. These were her people. Rick, Rosita, Daryl, Maggie, Carolโ€”all of them were her people. And she couldn't warn them.

"Don't worry, little Adeline won't get hurt, I'll make sure of it." Negan told her as she kept her back facing him. It wasn't just her daughter she was worried about, it was everyone. "But someone will have to die tonight, hell, I'll even let you pick if you want!"

Jaycee bit down on her tongue, hard. She wanted to kill him right there and then. Get it over with. But negan wasn't hers to kill.

"Hell, you got to work with me here, Jaycee. You are my right hand woman after all, and I'll need your input." Negan added as Jaycee stayed silent, turning around as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"We blow up the houses, only some of the houses. Damn, even Gabriel's church just to send a message. We have some of the Saviours block the roads so they can't leave." Jaycee suggested, looking up as Negan's grin widened. "We get them to co-operate. Ricks there, you tell him what's needed to be said, and maybe, nobody has to die."

"Now, that is why you're my right hand woman." Negan grinned down at her as she slowly nodded her head.

"Me and Dwight can lead the saviours to Alexandria, make sure nobody got out." Jaycee then suggested, making up her own plan. She'd make sure one of her people died.

"This is why I like you, and you, cooking up these ideas is just making me more into you!" Negan smirked as Jaycee raised a brow, clearly disgusted. "I'll bring Dwight here, so you can tell him your amazing plan!" Negan said as he walked to the door, turning back around to Jaycee. "You're making this place a better one."

Jaycee held onto her walkie, pressing the button down as she brought it to her lips. "This is J.C. Is anyone there? Anyone?" She spoke into it as nobody replied. She breathed out as she rubbed her forehead. She had told Dwight the plan, and he was telling Bellamy. Now, she needed to tell her people. "I repeat, this is J.C, is anyone there?"

"Jaycee?" The static voice of Carl made Jaycee sigh, sitting up in her chair. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm good, kid. Where's Rick?" Jaycee asked as she waited for carls reply.

"He's out, near enough, everyone is." Carl said as Jaycee let out a sigh, rubbing her forehead.

"You need to listen to me, Carl. You need to warn everyone. The saviours are making their move tonight, me and Dwight have planned an escape for you all. You need to lead everyone out before they come. They're gonna blow up Alexandria. You need to make sure everybody gets out, everybody." Jaycee quickly said as she pressed the button one more. "Do you understand? I need you to do this, Carl."

"Yeah. Yeah, I understand, Jay." Carl said as Jaycee let out a relieved sigh. "Thanks for the warning. Make sure you keep yourself safe, okay." He breathed in heavily. "I love you, Jay."

"I will, don't worry about me. I love you too, kid." Jaycee let out a faint chuckle as she turned the walkie off. Shit was going to go down tonight, she needed to make sure her people lived.

Jaycee held her gun, tight. She had her plan, and she hoped Carl had done what she said, made sure everybody got out. But, she still needed to make sure she acted like she was on the Saviours side, right until the last moment.

She looked around at the saviours around her, then up at Dwight, then both giving each other a subtle nod. "Cars aren't gonna be enough." Laura told the two, making them both look over at her. "We should've had the trucks."

"No, it'll hold." Jaycee calmly said, turning around slightly, hearing a vehicle growing close from the other side.

"Just get ready for cleanup." Dwight finished as the pair turned around. Then the wall ripped open, a truck driving right into it as everyone backed up. "Well, I'll be damned." Dwight said. "Come on! Let's get 'em!" He said to the Saviours as him, Laura and Jaycee ran to one of the cars.

Jaycee got in the passenger seat as Dwight got in the drivers seat and Laura in the back. They quickly followed the trucks, leading the Saviours into Jaycee's plan.

Once they were on road, Jaycee couldn't help but grin, slightly. Everything was going right. She saw the flashbomb being thrown from the trees and into the roadโ€”as did Dwight and Laura.

"Stop the car." Laura told Dwight, her eyes wide as Dwight kept her eyes on the road.

"Just wanna take a closer look." Dwight said as Jaycee watched the smoke rise up.

"D, stop the damn car!" Laura told him, persistent that he stops the car, but he didn't. "You're leading the trucks right into it! Youre gonna get us killed!" Laura said.

"Dwight." Jaycee put on her actor mode, her eyes wide as she turned to Dwight, who continued until he stopped the car.

Then, bullets fired as Jaycee quickly got out of the car, ducking behind it as Laura and Dwight did the same. Laura landed on her side as the pair shot into the woods, Jaycee not coming for where the shots came from.

Jaycee heard the yells of the Saviours, hearing them fall to the ground as the bullets hit them. She couldn't help but smirk as she reloaded her gun.

Then shots went off from behind the two women, Laura turning to Jaycee. "Go." Laura told Jaycee, making her nod, quickly running into the trees and hiding. Jaycee let out a curse as she heard a shot go off, then Laura's yells.

Jaycee quickly got up, watching Laura run off in the other direction. Jaycee quickly got up as she looked down at Dwight, who held his shot arm as Jaycee dropped her gun, going towards Dwight and looking at his arm.

She grimaced as she looked at his wound. "Bullet went through." Jaycee sighed as she ripped his shirt, quickly tying it around his arm.

"You need to go, they still think you're on their side." Dwight breathed out as he winced, Jaycee tying the ripped piece of shirt around his wound.

"I need to know if-"

"I'll let you know if your people and your kid are okay. Just go, quick." Dwight said as Jaycee sighed, grabbing her gun and giving Dwight a nod.

"Maybe you aren't that bad." Jaycee gave him a tight lipped smile, then running away, back to where the saviours were at Alexandria.

Adeline quickly got up from the sewer floor, looking over at Rosita, Daryl, Tara and Dwight. She cradled Judith as she frowned. "Where's my mom?" She asked Dwight, frown on her face.

"Shes fine, kid." Dwight send her a nod as he cradled his arm. "Shes gone back with them, they still think she's one of them."

"Is everyone okay?" Rosita then asked as Adeline lowered her head. Carl was bit. "Ads?"

Adeline hugged Judith close as she told the group to follow her further into the sewers, where Carl was sat, weak and pale.

Carl tried to smile up at them, but failed as he was too weak to. The bite was infecting him more and more.

Adeline slowly sat herself down, still holding Judith. She wished her mother was here. Everything wasn't the same without her. And it was gonna break Jaycee heart when she finds out Carl was bit.

Adeline had grown up with Carl, being neighbours. Always spent their young childhoods together.

When movement was heard from the other side, everybody looked over to see Rick and Michonne.

Rick ran his hand through his daughter's hair and softly squeezed Adeline's shoulder as he made his way towards Carl, and the stranger Carl had brought.

"I brought him here." Carl weakly said as Rick turned to him, as did Michonne. "That's how it happened." He then leaned down to pull the cover off of the bite mark.

Adeline squeezed her eyes closer as she leaned her forehead on Judith's. Michonne dropped to her knees in front of Carl, breathing out.

Then more explosives went off in the background, Adeline covering Judith's ears. "I..I don't..." Rick shook his head as he breathed in.

"Dad." Carl stopped his father.

"How?"

"Dad." Carl stopped him once more, a small smile on his face. "It's all right. It's gotta be. I wasn't sure if you'd make it back before...but just in case, you know..." he pulled out some letters. "I wanted to make sure I was able to say goodbye." He handed them to Michonne.

"No. It's them. It's them." Rick breathed heavily, shaking his head. "They...they don't...it wasn't..." Rick looked up as he closed his eyes for a moment.

"Carl." Michonne cried softly.

"No." Rick shook his head. "No."

"I got bit." Carl told him, shaking his head with tears in his eyes. "I was bringing someone back. His names Siddiq. We saw him at that gas station before...it wasn't the Saviours. It just happened." He explained as Rick lowered his head. "I got bit."

Michonne and Rick helped Carl onto the stretcher as he got worse. "Is that better?" Michonne asked as she held onto his forehead.

"Yeah." Carl panted, swallowing thickly. "Thanks."

"I, uhm, I got these." Adeline turned to Siddiq, who held a pill bottle. "They're over the counter, non steroidal anti inflammatories" he explained as he looked down at Carl. "They'll, um...they'll help a little with the fever. They did for my mom and dad." He lowered his head. "Please take them." His voice broke as he held them out for Rick and Michonne to take. "Your son...he should have them."

Rick carefully took them out of Siddiq's hands. "You're a doctor?" Rick as as he turned back to his son.

"I was a resident before." Siddiq explained shortly. "Yeah."

"Your name is Siddiq?" Rick asked him as he nodded his head.

"Did you know he was a doctor?" Rick looked down at his son. "Is that why you brought him back?"

"He wasn't gonna make it alone." Carl weakly spoke, his breaths raspy. "He needed us. Thats why."

"He was the one at the gas station." Rick recalled as he looked over at Siddiq then back at Carl. They all jumped as another bomb went off. Then, Carl bursted into a coughing fit as Rick held him.

"Water. Give him water." Michonne quickly said as Siddiq handed them some water, Rick carefully holding Carl as he drank it.

"East. You got it?" Rick gently spoke to Carl. "Slowly, slowly." The explosions continued, Michonne getting up and walking towards Dwight, grabbing him and pushing him againt the wall.

"Make it stop!" Michonne hissed as she glared at Dwight. "Make them stop." She panted.

"I can't." Dwight hung his head in shame, shaking it.

"You can." Michonne breathed heavily. "You're one of them. They'll listen to you." Her face then broke, her face pleading. "Please. Please." She begged.

"Unless one of you have a walkie, I can try and get through to Jaycee." Dwight explained, but nobody had a walkie. Rosita slowly got up, placing her hand on Michonne's arm.

"You said that hilltops safe?" Rosita asked Dwight, who nodded his head. "We need to get everybody there." She then turned to Michonne. "We can get Carl there."

"And they think all of you got away in the woods." Dwight explained as he held his arm. "They're out there, looking. And they think I'm dead." He pointed out.

"They saw us go West, so we won't go West." Tara pipped in, standing up and going to stand beside Rosita.

"Your best chance is to stay here until they're gone." Dwight told her, shaking his head."

"Nah." Daryl said from beside Adeline. "They find us here, we're dead." He grunted.

"They're almost done. They gotta be. It wasn't about destroying the place, Jaycee made sure of that." Dwight explained as Adeline looked up at the mention of her mother. "They don't have the ammo for that. After they let up, after they're gone, that's when we go." Dwight told them once more.

Rosita looked between them all before slowly nodding her head. "Okay." She turned to Dwight. "We wait." Michonne nodded her head as she walked back over to Carl and Rick.

"You sure going to Hilltop's the best plan?" Dwight turned to Rosita, a worried look decorating his face.

"You got a better one?" Rosita challenged, tilting her head.

"All of you in one place, together..." Dwight breathed out as Daryl cut him off.

"All of us together." Daryl said as he nodded his head. "We'll be their worst damn nightmare."

Jaycee hadn't heard anything from her people, and she was growing worried. And nobody knew where Laura was, and Jaycee was confused. Jaycee had returned back to the saviours in the walls of Alexandria.

Jaycee knew her people wouldn't stay at Alexandria. They'd have gone to Hilltop, with Maggie. That's where they were the safest.

But, Jaycee needed to check up on Gabriel. Dr Carson hadn't come and told her anything. She went and opened the door, almost jumping as she saw Negan. "Jesus Christ." She uttered, holding her hand to her chest.

"You might wanna sit down." Negan told her. She frowned, raising a brow. He didn't have his usual joking face, no, it was serious.

"I can stand perfectly fine." She muttered, closing the door behind him and turning to Negan, hands on her hips.

"Jaycee." Negan said, making Jaycee a little bit worried. "You might wanna sit down." He repeated as she slowly sat down on the edge of her bed.

"There. Now what?" Jaycee breathed out, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched him sit down in front of her.

"Rick radioed. Carl...he, uh, he got bit." Negan said as Jaycee's heart dropped. "He was trying to help someone-"

"What?" Jaycee breathed in, slowly standing up, shaking her head. "Is that some kind of sick joke?" She let out a sarcastic chuckle, uncrossing her arms. "You're lying."

"Jaycee, listen to me." Negan breathed out as he stood up, but Jaycee shook her head, stepping back. Her hands shook as she licked her dry lips.

"No. Carls fine. I-" Jaycee cut herself off. She had spoken to him not even twenty four hours ago. "He's fine." She strongly said, her lips trembling.

"He died. Carl got bit and he died." Negan continued as Jaycee refused to listen, moving away from him as he moved closer. "He said he wanted this war to stop."

Jaycee shook her hands, bringing her hands to her face. Her back softly hit the wall as a broken sob left her lips. Carl couldn't be dead, no. She didn't believe itโ€”she wouldn't.

"He wrote us both a letter. God knows why he wrote me one." Negan breathed out, watching as Jaycee slowly broke. Jaycee, slowly, dragged her body down to the ground, grabbing a hold of her knees. It couldn't be true.

"He's dead?" Jaycee asked, her voice breaking as she buried her head into her arms. Her breaths started to become more heavy, as if she was hyperventilating.

"Yeah, he'd dead." Negan sighed, crouching down in front of her. "Went out fighting." He added as Jaycee bit down on her tongue, trying to muffle her cries. "Did you know him before this?" Negan asked as Jaycee lifted her head up.

"Yeah. Since he was a baby. Rick was my neighbour. Adeline and, uh, Carlโ€”Close as ever." Jaycee uttered, as she used her flannel to wipe at her eyes. Negan listened to her, moving to sit beside her. "When this shit started, I helped Carl and his mom out of the city." She sniffled. "Uh, Rick asked me to be his god mother, and I was. Use to babysit him."

"Shit. You were close with the kid, like family." Negan sighed as she slowly nodded her head. "I'm sorry, Jay. I really am. That kid was the future."

"Yeah. He was better than us all." Jaycee breathed out, leaning her head on the wall. "I was, uhm, there...when his mother died. She said...she said he'd beat this world." Her lips trembled as she wiped at her eyes once more. "This war has to stop." She turned to negan, who closed his eyes. "Before we loose anymore people. We get Rick and everybody to stop. Nobody else has to die." Her voice broke, bitting down on her tongue.

"You know that can't happen." Negan shook his head as Jaycee sighed. "Rick and his gang of fools have had too many warnings. And, you know I've tried with these people." Negan continued to explain. "Tried to be lenient. I've given them chance after chance, and what do they do, throw it back in my beautiful face."

"Maybe, just a thought, they don't want to work for someone who has killed a lot of their people." Jaycee tilted her head as she wiped her cheeks with her arm.

"But look at you, you're here, you've helped us, hell, even helped me." Negan pointed out as she rolled her eyes, carefully getting up from the floor.

"Because, maybe, I don't want people to die, on either side. Surprisingly, I trust people here." Jaycee scoffed, slightly. That may only be Dwight and Bellamy. "And they're still my family, people who have helped me survive. I don't want more people to die because of this fucking shitty of an excuse for a war." Jaycee breathed out heavily as she watched him stand back up. "It took Carl dying for me to realise that!"

"Carl died because his Rick was too hellbent on killing me and my people." Negan said as Jaycee's face hardened.

"No, you can't blame this all on Rick." Jaycee pointed a finger at him. "He isn't fighting himself! He is fighting so his people, Hilltop and the Kingdom can live a life. For their childrenโ€”their families!"

"Which side are you on?" Negan challenged her, slightly. "Theirs, or ours?"

"I don't want to see anymore people die, Negan!" She hissed slightly as she moved towards him. "I don't want to hear that anyone from Alexandria, Hilltop, the Kingdom died or got hurt. Or anyone here." Jaycee quickly spoke. Jaycee didn't want anyone else to die. And it took Carl to die for her to realise that. "You wanna protect the sanctuary? Stop this fight. You have the power to do thatโ€”you and Rick." She pointed a finger into his chest. "You wanted me here to help you and your people, right? That's what I'm doing. I'm trying to make sure nobody else dies!"

"You know Rick has to die for that to happen." Negan leaned closer to her, but she didn't back down.

"Nobody has to die!" Jaycee narrowed her eyes. "Nobody else." She added as she breathed heavily.

"If Rick doesn't die, more of his people will die, hell, maybe even Adeline." Negan then said as Jaycee froze. "That's why Rick needs toโ€”"

Jaycee cut him off with a hard shove to his chest, her eyes narrowed. "Don't you dare." She whispered in a warning tone. "You have no right." She pointed at him once again. "Get out, or so help me, negan..." She breathed in as she ran a hand over her face.

"Are you threatening me?" Negan raised a brow as Jaycee raised her brow, kissing her teeth.

"No, I'm hitting on you. Of course I was threatening you, prick!" Jaycee let out a sigh. "Leave."

But negan couldn't help but fight against a chuckle, bitting down on his lip as he moved past her, going to the door. "Now, that just made me more damn into you." He quickly said as Jaycee narrowed her eyes, taking off her shoe and throwing it at the door as he closed it behind him.

"Fucking cunt." She mumbled as she ran a hand through her hair. Jaycee didn't want to see more people die, people that she loved die. And this war needed to stop. Hell, even if that meant killing negan herself.

Adeline had said her final goodbye to Carl. And Adeline couldn't stop crying. Carl was her first friend. Carl made her promise, that she'll try to make this stop, this war stop. Adeline promised him. She wanted to avenge Carl, but how?

But most of Alexandria made their way to hilltop, Adeline still holding onto Judith. When the gates opened, she couldn't help but cry.

Adeline looked at the worried faces of Madelyn and Enid, and it broke her. Adeline cradled Judith as she looked over at Enid, whose face dropped.

Adeline passed Judith to Daryl, going over to Enid's side and pulling her into a tight hug, the pair collapsing to the floor.

The pair didn't need to say anything, but they understood each other in silence and cries. Carl was gone. Dead. Because of this war.

Adeline buried her head into Enid's shoulder, Maggie and Madelyn crouching to their sides and joining in on the hug.

They needed each other, now. They were together. Adeline didn't want to loose anyone else. She had lost her childhood best-friend, her brother.

Jaycee and Bellamy stood in the crowd of saviours, looking at the walkers tied to the fence as negan stood in front of them.

She turned as she felt someone beside her, her eyes widening. Dwight. Her face clearly held a million questions, but Dwight gave her a look, making her sigh and turn back to negan.

"You all know how this works." He started. "You get a bite...some kind of wound from one of these things, something form them gets in you, and you die. You join the club...which sucks." He grinned slightly. "What if we could use that to our advantage?" He said before turning around and hitting one of the walkers with his bat before running the walkers blood against it. "That's it." He chuckled as he turned to the saviours.

Negan pointed the bat at the Saviours, grin on his face. "Look...at...that. No more smashing and bashing." Jaycee bit down on her tongue. "With this...well, this, it can be a touch. Or a big, wet kiss. Either way, this gets you full membership, and that's what we want. We want people to join the club. Hilltop is gonna learn to toe the line one way or another, dead or alive...or some kind of shit in-between."
