They made their way back to Alexandria, Rick telling everyone to meet in the church. Jaycee wasted no time to go see her daughter.
After, they all sat in the church, as Rick explained everything. "And we can work with Hilltop." He started as everyone listened to him. "Maggie hammered out a deal. We're getting food, eggs, butter, fresh vegetables. But they're not just giving it away. These saviours, they almost killed Sasha, Daryl and Abraham on the road. Now, sooner or later, they would've found us, just like those wolves did, just like Jesus did. They woulda killed someone or some of us." Jaycee rubbed her daughter's shoulder as they continued to listen to Rick. "And then they would try to own us. And we would try to stop them. But by then, in that kind of fight, low on food, we could lose. This is the only way to be sure, as sure as we can get, that we win. And we have to win. We do this for the Hilltop, it's how we keep this place. It's how we feed this place. This needs to be a group decision. If anybody objects, here's your chance to say your piece." Rick spoke to them.
Everyone stayed silent until someone stood up. Morgan. Everyone turned to face him as he looked at Rick. "You're sure we can do it? We can beat them?"
"What this group has done, what we've learned, what we've become, all of us, yes, I'm sure." Rick nodded his head as he pointed at everyone around.
"Then all we have to do is just tell them that." Morgan said as Jaycee lowered her head with a sigh.
"Well, they don't compromise." Rick told him, shaking his head.
"This isn't a compromise." Morgan quickly cut him off. "It's a choice you give them. It's a way out, for them and for us."
"We try talk to the saviours, we give up our advantage, our safety. No, we have to come got them before they come for us." Rick pointed at himself as he talked to Morgan. "We can't leave them alive."
"Where there's life, there's a possibility." Morgan continued as Jaycee rolled her eyes.
"Of them hitting us!" Rick argued.
"Rick, we're not trapped in this." Morgan sighed. "None of you are trapped in this." He looked around at everyone.
"Morgan..." Rick ran a hand over his face. "They always come back."
"Come back when they're dead, too." Morgan voiced his opinion. He had his humanity, but these people, the saviours, negan, they're dangerous.
"Yeah, we'll stop them. We have before." Rick tilted his head.
"I'm not talking about the walkers." Morgan shook his head.
"Morgan wants to talk to them first. I think that would be a mistake." Rick told the people around him. "But it's not up to me. I'll talk to the people still at home. I'll discuss it with the people on guard now, too, but who else wants to approach the saviours, talk to them first?" Rick asked.
Aaron stood up as he directed his words to rick. "What happened here, we won't let that happen again." He confidently said. He then turned to Morgan. "I won't." He nodded his head as he sat back down. Jaycee agreed with him.
"Looks like it's settled." Rick nodded his head at Aaron. "We know exactly what this is. We don't shy from it, we live. We kill them all." That made Morgan sit down. "We don't all have to kill. But, if people are gonna stay here..." he walked down the walk way. "They do have to accept it." He spoke to Morgan before leaving the church.
Jaycee sat on her porch, lighting up a cigarette Carol had given her and brought it to her mouth, staring up at the night sky.
If she was being frank, she didn't know about going to kill the saviours. They didn't know how many people they had, how much guns and ammo they had. Everything. They could be stronger than them. And Jaycee didn't want to loose anyone. They were her family.
"Mom?" Adeline's voice made Jaycee turn around, taking the cigarette out of her mouth and blowing out the smoke.
"You alright, sweetheart?" Jaycee softly smiled as Adeline walked over to Jaycee, who sat in the rocking chair.
"I can't sleep." Adeline shrugged as she jumped up on the railing.
"Why's that?" Jaycee put out her cigarette, tilting her head.
"Tomorrow, when you and everyone go to fight these people." Adeline fiddled with her hands, looking up Jaycee.
"Come 'ere." Jaycee stood up as she opened her arms for her daughter, who walked straight into them, hugging her mother tight.
"We've fought people like this before. The governor, for example-"
"But people died because of him." Adeline mumbled into Jaycee's shoulder, "Hershel."
"Hey, hey, listen, addie." Jaycee pulled away as she brushed the hair out of her daughter's face. "We'll be okay. We will protect each other. We're family. We won't let anyone get hurt."
"You better come back." Adeline wiped at her eyes. "I don't think I can put up with them fools without you."
Jaycee chucked a she pressed a kiss against Adeline's head. "Somebody got to put Daryl in his place when it's not me or Carol." She tilted her head as Adeline chuckled also. "Come on, let's go inside."
Jaycee was helping with packing up the rv with Rosita, placing their ammo and weapons in the RV. She turned to Rosita, who was rubbing her eyes, which made her frown.
"You okay, ro?" Jaycee turned to her, hands on hips, as Rosita turned to her, nodding her head.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Didn't get much sleep." Rosita cleared her throat as she sent her a small smile.
Jaycee saw right through her. "You're lying." Jaycee tilted her head as Rosita bit her bottom lip. "I'm here for you, Rosita. You can tell my anythingโif you want to, of course."
Rosita sighed as she sat on the RV step, making Jaycee sit beside her. "It's Abraham." Rosita sighed as Jaycee leaned her chin on her own shoulder, listening to her. "He, uh, left. Saying I wasn't the only woman in the world anymore."
"Shit. Where did he go?" Jaycee frowned, laying her hand on rositas and squeezing it.
"I don't know, he just left in the middle of the night. He packed his shit and left." Rosita shrugged her shouldered as she let out a deep breath.
"Well, you can always stay with me and addie. We have two spare rooms." Jaycee softly smiled as Rosita turned to her.
"Thank you, Jay." Rosita smiled back as Jaycee hummed.
"What are best friends for?" Jaycee grinned. "Fuck men, who need them anyway? Look at me, and I'm happy." Jaycee tried to lighten up the mood. "And you're a badass." She pointed at Rosita, who let out a little laugh.
"You're right." Rosita nodded her head as Jaycee grinned.
"That's my girl. Now, we got saviours to kill, and a weird guy called negan." Jaycee sighed as she stood up, holding her hand out for Rosita, who took it. "Excuse my French, but who names their god damn kid negan? Set him up for failure."
Rosita chuckled as she shook her head. She was glad Jaycee was around. Ever since she found her, Adeline, Glenn and Tara on the road, she knew she liked Jaycee and her sense of humour, how she lit up any room she was in with her jokes, even in a serious situation.
Jaycee shut the Rv door behind her, looking at the group, who left their cars behind them. "Aaron, Jaycee, Rosita." Rick called over to the two. "You start here." He told them as Jaycee pulled her sniper over her shoulder, axe in her waist belt. "Well peel off every quarter mile, meet back here in a couple of hours. See what we got." Rick told them as Jaycee stuck with Rosita, walking onto the grass.
"One minute." Rosita tapped her shoulder as she walked over to Carol, making Jaycee hum, looking through the trees as she left them to have a private conversation.
Rosita returned to her side after a while as Jaycee smiled. "Everything okay?"
"Yeah, I just had to ask her about something." Rosita shrugged her shoulders with a smile.
"Well, come on, we gotta wait around here until they return. Might as well kill time." Jaycee sighed as they walked over to the rv.
After a while, everyone retuned and Rosita and Jaycee walked towards them. "We're gonna take a look around, try to get a feel for how many people are in there." Rick spoke to everyone. "We like how it looks, we go in.ย A Couple of hours before dawn. The guards outside'll be tired. Everyone inside'll be sleeping. We don't like what we see, we head back, make a new plan. They don't know who we are. We'll keep Jesus in the shadows. This is how we eat. This is how we eat." He repeated as he held his gun. "We roll out at midnight." He told everyone before he walked into the Rv.
"Here we go." Jaycee nudged Rosita with a sigh.
Everyone waited in the woods as the head was shown to the saviours. When one of them left, Daryl took the opportunity to slit the other man's throat.
Thats when everyone rushed to the building, Aaron getting rid of the body as Jaycee pulled out her axe, moving to hide behind the car with Rosita.
The man stayed, picking a gun up and hiding it in his waistband. The other man returned with the man from hilltop, who was battered and bruised, "well, well, well. Look who it is." The man spoke.
Michonne moved behind him as she stabbed him through the chest from behind, making him gasp in pain, Jaycee quickly getting up and helping the man from hilltop and taking him to the car.
She quickly left to join Rosita side, walking into the building, guns raised as Jaycee held into her axe, gun around her neck.
They all piled in, looking through the doors as her, Rosita and Aaron turned around the corner, quietly and sneakily.
Jaycee quietly and slowly opened a door, to see two saviours asleep, she squeezed onto her axe, putting it away to grab her knife, standing over the man and pushing the blade into his head, pulling it out as Rosita did the same to the other man.
She looked up to see photographs stuck up on the wall. She held back a gip as she saw the images:heads bashed in, like mush. She covered her mouth with her hand.
These people were fucked up. "Come on, j." Rosita tugged on her as Jaycee looked away, following her.
Then alarms ran through the building. "We need to go." Jaycee quickly said as she put the knife away, taking out her gun.
But Aaron was gone. "We need to find him." Rosita said as they walked through the hallways, guns raised. They heard a man run past them and towards a door, making Jaycee fire her gun, Aaron opening the door as he looked up at the two.
"Come on." Jaycee ushered him over, "that's one of the locked ones." She pointed to the door in front of them. "We'll cover you. Do it." She told Aaron as he nodded his head.
He kicked the door as they took turns to shootย at the people running past. Aaron finally opened the door, just to see nothing expert toilet rolls and other such things.
Jaycee reloaded her gun, getting up too early as a shot went off. She yelled out in pain as a bullet hit her shoulder, making her hide behind the box, Rosita shooting the man that shot her. "Holy, mother of fuck." Jaycee hissed in pain, squeezing her eyes shut.
"Shit! Are you okay?" Rosita panted heavily as she moved over to her, pressing her hands over the wound.
"Yeah, I'll live." She let out a raspy chuckle, looking up at Aaron. "These motherfuckers don't know how to god damn aim." She breathed a chuckle as Rosita sighed, ripping some of her shit and tying it around her shoulder.
"We gotta get her out of here." Rosita sighed as she looked up at Aaron.
"Don't be stupid, I'm fine." Jaycee stood up as Rosita held onto her. "A lil' bullet never killed a gal."
They had killed everyone, nobody dead, but just Jaycee wounded, which was just her luck. But, she'd be fine.
They all said their goodbyes to Tara as she left. Then an engine was heard, a man on a motorcycle, trying to get away. It was Daryl's bike.
"Son if a bitch!" He yelled as Rosita shot at the man, making him fall over as well as the bike.
Daryl ran over to the man and tackled him to the ground, Jaycee went to run over but Rosita and Aaron told her to stay, making her sigh.
Rick ran over and pointed his gun at the man, as Daryl threw punches his way. Jaycee slowly made her way over to them as a voice in the radio spoke. "Lower your gun, prick." A woman's voice said. Jaycee stood beside Rosita and Aaron as she frowned. "You, with the colt python. All of you, lower your weapons right now."
Rick cautiously picked up the walkie by the man, brining it to his mouth. "Come on out." He spoke into it as Jaycee carefully raised her gun, the pain in her shoulder making her bite down on her tongue. "Let's talk."
"We're not coming out, but we will talk." The woman said through the walkie as everyone looked around anxiously. "We've got a carol and Maggie." Jaycee's heart dropped. "I'm thinking that's something you want to chat about."
These people had Maggie and Carol. And they were 'thinking' about their deal they made. They had to get them back. But Jaycee's shoulder was burning up, like it was on fire. They had no girl to stop, even though they were trying make her stay behind.
But she wouldn't, not when Carol and Maggie were in danger. So she just quickly patched it up, the bullet had gone straight through. She'd need it stitched up when she gets back to Alexandria, but, she'd make do.
They found where they were hiding them, all of them getting ready to ambush in. Jaycee held her gun in her hands as she listened to ricks orders.
They went into the building, Rosita and Jaycee following glenn as they went to open a door, but the door opened by its self. Their raised their guns but lowered them as they saw Maggie and Carol.
Jaycee breathed out as she brought Carol into a hug, "you're okay?" She asked as Carol nodded.
"Yeah, yeah." The older woman breathed out as Jaycee pulled away, squeezing her shoulder. "You're shot."
"I'm fine. Aint nothing I can't handle" Jaycee carefully shrugged her shoulders. "We just need to get back."
