CHAPTER ONE
===============
SOULMATES EXISTED in Maiha's perfect world. But it wasn't so perfect after all. Some never found their other half.
=====
The book store was empty at this hour of the afternoon. But Maiha wanted yet another good story to stick her nose in. She finished reading her previous book just this morning.
Maiha spotted the next book in the series. Legendary by Stephanie Garber. There was only one.
It was up on a higher shelf, sadly. She stood on her tippy toes but still could not reach it. Almost got it...
After trying again, a slender hand easily plucked it off the high shelf.
Maiha turned around to thank the stranger for getting it for her. "Oh, thank you."
The good samaritan had messy blond hair and golden eyes with black glasses. He had headphones around his neck. A slight smirk showed on his
pale face.
When she reached to grab it, the tall stranger moved back. "I grabbed it for me. Not you."
What? "Didn't you see me reaching for it?" Maiha asked.
"Oh I did, but since I was the one who got to it first— it's mine." he deadpanned. The smirk only grew larger.
"Listen here lamp pole, I saw it first. Therefore I deserve the right to have that book." She argued back.
"Oh really?" He chuckled. "But look who has it now." With that the jerk walked away. No doubt to the cashier to pay for the book.
Maiha stood there dumbfounded at his rudeness. Next time I see him, I'll kick his scrawny ass.
=====
Did you get it? appeared on her arm in black ink when she arrived at her house.
Maiha and her soulmate made a deal that they would read the same books and talk about it, since they both liked reading.
She sighed and got a marker. No. Some jerk got the last copy. :(
Do you want me to wait for you to get it?
It's fine, enjoy the book, soulmate.
Okay. Good night, soulmate. :)
Good night :3
Maiha smiled at the idle conversation. Little did she know, she would meet him very soon.
=====
A week flew by fast and it was now the start of school. Maiha's first year at Karasuno high school, to be exact.
Her school uniform consisted of a black skirt, white buttoned blouse, and a black blazer. A pink frilly ribbon came along as a bow, but Maiha despised pink and decided to rebel.
As she was brushing her long jet black hair,
Excited for school? Appeared on her left forearm. Maiha's soulmate was writing to her right now.
She hurriedly found a marker on her desk full of books and wrote, I am now. What if we end up going to the same school?
Then wouldn't that be fate.
Maiha smiled lightly at her soulmate's words. Most people in her age and above have already lost all hope.
But she hadn't. She was determined to meet them, whoever they are, wherever they are, whenever. The only problem was finding them.
The stupid curse everyone had, restricted telling your soulmate anything that could help them find you, and you, them.
But what if Maiha did meet them? Well wouldn't that be fate.
=====
The school hallways were crowded. Students were walking to class and some dimbos decided to clog the flow of the students by stopping to talk to their friends.
Hoshimi Maiha, Year 1, Class 5. The paper said.
Classes 5 and 4 were for college prep. Meaning Maiha would finally have people in her level of intelligence.
When she walked in, she spotted a familiar tall blonde head, seated at a desk wearing his headphones. This made Maiha instantly stop in her tracks. (In this story Tsukishima is gonna be in class 5)
"You?!"
The beanpole looked up to find a pissed off Maiha. He just smirked and slid his headphones to his neck. "Oh, it's you."
"What're you doing here?" Maiha asked angrily.
"What does it look like? I'm at school, waiting for class to start." He scoffed.
"Oh—.." This was a school after all. Anyone could attend.
"Dumbass." The blonde mumbled.
"Seating chart on the board!" The teacher called from the doorway.
A paper was held by a magnet on the whiteboard. Everyone had seemingly ignored the large red arrows drawn that were pointing to it. So they hurried and looked at the paper, getting to their proper seats. YES! A WINDOW SEAT.
Maiha took it back when she saw she was to the left of the beanpole.
He smirked when he saw Maiha sit next to him. "Can't get enough of me, huh?" He teased.
This was going to be an interesting year.
