day 2, 3/20 kisses

The next day was Sunday, which meant it was a day to go to the Burrow for their weekly reunions. Ginny woke up with food on the table and read the note that came with it.
Good morning, Gin. I'm sorry I won't be able to come today. Send Molly and Arthur my apologies. Have a great meal, I love you.
While eating her food, Ginny couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. Her face fell slightly when she remembered their deal, wondering why she did accept it when she didn't feel anything but friendship for the older girl. She just hoped Amanda wouldn't get hurt and move on when this was all over.
Ginny finished up and washed the dishes before she washed up and wore her coat. She felt something in her pocket and took it out. Her eyes softened when it was another note for Amanda.
It's cold, so don't forget your scarf and jumper. You always forget your jumper. I have one on the couch so wear it. Keep warm, Gin.
Ginny chuckled and wore the blue jumper on the couch. Amanda always found a way to be there for Ginny even if she wasn't physically there, and with that, Ginny Apparated out of their flat and in front of the Burrow. She smiled slightly when she remembered Fred. It was always like that. Every Sunday that Ginny would come to the Burrow, the first thing that would come into her mind was Fred.
As she started on her way, Ginny heard the loud laughter and chatting inside. She knocked on the door and heard footsteps and mumbles growing louder. It was Molly who opened the door with a wide smile on her face. "Ginevra, you're here." She pulled her youngest child into a tight hug.
"Good morning, Mum," said Ginny, rolling her eyes and hugging her back.
"Where's Amanda?" Molly looked around for the Auror. "She knows it's Sunday, right?"
"Yeah, she had a case. I don't know what is it about though." Molly nodded and ushered the girl in. Ginny saw that her father, all her siblings and some of their friends were there with their significant others. There was Ron and Luna, Hermione and Eliza, George and Angelina, Bill and Fleur and Neville. Charlie was off in Romania while Percy was in the Ministry. Ginny hugged all of them before she sat down with Luna and Neville.
"Hello, Ginny," said Neville cheerfully. "Where's Amanda?"
"She had a case," said Ginny, looking around for someone.
"Harry's not here," said Neville after exchanging glances with Luna. "I think he's busy at the Auror office."
"Oh," said Ginny in disappointment before she sighed and told herself to stop thinking about the boy. Hermione came and joined them and they talked about different things.
"Amanda has a case, right, Gin?" Hermione asked her. Ginny simply nodded and she was about to say something when someone knocked on the door. Her head snapped towards it while Molly opened the door.
"Harry! Come in, dear." Ginny sat up straight in her seat. Was it really him?
"Mrs. Weasley, it's nice to see you," said Harry Potter's voice before he went around the group and hugged them. He finally arrived at Ginny, who was looking anywhere but his eyes. "Hello, Ginny."
"H-Hi, Harry." Ginny mentally cursed herself for feeling so nervous in front of her crush. Harry just smiled before sitting down with the boys. Ginny stared at him for a few moments before turning back to Hermione and the others. They may have had a brief relationship during Ginny's 5th year, but after that, they never really talked about it. Ginny did want to bring it up, but after all Harry had gone through, it wasn't really the right time. She still had hope that the Boy Who Lived had feelings for her just as she did, but she was both scared and nervous to find out.
After dinner, Ginny stared at Harry again. She started thinking about Amanda's words the night before. She was right. She was afraid to tell Harry, but somehow, the words repeated themselves in Ginny's mind and gave her courage to talk to him. Luckily, she had time with him alone when she saw Harry out on the porch.
"Harry?" said Ginny suddenly.
"Yeah, Ginny? What's up?"
"U-Ummm... W-Would you like to have dinner with me t-tomorrow?" Ginny looked anywhere but Harry's eyes.
"Oh," said Harry in surprise before he sighed. "I'm sorry, Ginny, I'm having dinner with Jason tomorrow."
"Jason MacCabe?" said Ginny in confusion. When Harry nodded with a smile, Ginny became even more confused. She didn't know Harry and Jason were friends. Ginny met Jason once, and he was a nice boy. He was a friend of Amanda, Eliza and George so maybe one of them introduced the two boys.
"Okay then," said Ginny quickly. "Maybe next time. I think it's getting late, and Ada's probably hungry. Good night, Harry." She went inside the house quickly, not turning back to see Harry look at her with mixed emotions on his face.
"Hey Mum, can I get some food for Ada?" said Ginny to Molly, who was in the kitchen. "I think she's home already."
"But it's too early-"
"Please, Mum?" said Ginny pleadingly. Molly's eyes softened before she nodded and put some food in a container.
"Thank you for coming, love," said Molly, hugging her daughter and handing her the container.
"I'll always come home, Mum," said Ginny softly before she smiled at her mother and hugged everyone goodbye. She went out of the house and hesitated when she saw Harry before settling for a wave and Disapparating away.

"Bloody hell," grumbled Amanda as she opened the door to their flat. She had a tiring day of work. After chasing the Death Eater for months now, they finally caught Augustus Rookwood, who was responsible for the death of Fred, her parents and so much others. When Amanda learned that the case they were investigating was on Augustus Rookwood, she took it immediately. The Aurors understood why and gave it to her without question. Finally, they served justice for Fred.
"Ginny?" Amanda called out. She looked around and frowned when she saw the girl wasn't there. She smiled though when she saw that there was a plate of steak and baked potatoes on the table. She smelled it and let out a moan. Molly made the best food, and Amanda made a mental note to thank the woman next thing tomorrow. She gulped the food down, exhausted from what happened that day. A door suddenly opened and Amanda waved at her roommate.
"Hey, Gin." Amanda's happy voice died down when she noticed the look on her face. Without another word, she stood up and wrapped her arms around Ginny, who blushed slightly, thinking she did it because of their deal. She tried getting out of Amanda's arms, but Amanda just tightened her arms around the girl.
"W-What-"
"I know you're not fine. You can tell me if you want to." This was what Ginny appreciated most about Amanda. She wasn't the type to pressure people into telling her stuff, and she was always just there. That was just what Ginny needed in that moment.
"I asked Harry out for dinner tomorrow, but he's having dinner with Jason." Ginny mumbled and finally relaxed into the embrace. Amanda's eyes widened before she let Ginny rest her head on her shoulder. The two of them just stood there, Amanda comforted Ginny with her hold while Ginny felt her heart lighten for a bit. Amanda pulled away a little, making Ginny look at her in confusion. Then, she cupped Ginny's face and made her look into Amanda's eyes.
"I'm still your best friend," said Amanda softly. "For these 20 days, I may be your girlfriend, but forever, I'll be your best friend. You can tell me whatever you're feeling."
"Thank you, but I'm fine."
"Whatever you say, Gin, but I know how you're feeling." Ginny tried avoiding Amanda's eyes, but she found herself staring into them when she saw the warmth they held. It made Ginny forget about what happened with Harry a while ago and focus on the girl in front of her. Ginny sighed and nodded, which made the older girl grin and pat her cheek. Ginny just shook her head and started on her way to the couch when...
"Hey, Gin?" Amanda grabbed her wrist.
"Yeah?" Ginny turned around and looked at Amanda questioningly.
"I think you have something there."
"Whe-" Ginny instinctively closed her eyes when she felt the soft lips of Amanda's on hers. She was surprised at the older girl's skills, and just as she was about to respond to the kiss, Amanda pulled back with a wink. "I think I'm full already."
"You git," said Ginny, slapping her on the shoulder. "You're dead if you do another stunt like that."
"What's life without surprises?" chuckled Amanda while she cleaned up.
"Childish arse." Ginny grumbled and went to the couch. Amanda just laughed in response while looking at Ginny watch her movie with a soft smile on her face. She may be a childish arse, but she was Ginny's childish arse.
"Ada?" Ginny suddenly called out.
"What is it?"
"Can we have some ice cream?" Ginny pouted and showed Amanda her puppy eyes.
Amanda closed her eyes immediately. "Ice cream? In the middle of winter?"
"Please, Amanda," said Ginny in a pleading voice.
"Fine." Amanda sighed and playfully glared at the grinning girl.
"I knew you'd agree. You love me." Ginny beamed at her and went back to her movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's this time. Amanda smiled softly and took the last tub of mint chocolate out of their refrigerator. She was in love with Ginny Weasley, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She handed Ginny her spoon while the two of them took their first bites of the ice cream.
"I love mint choco," said Amanda cheerfully, taking another bite.
"Thank Godric you introduced this to me." Ginny was still savoring her first bite and Amanda's heart started beating faster when Ginny smiled widely at her. To stop herself from staring at Ginny, Amanda focused her attention on the ice cream and started eating bite after bite.
"Amanda Faye! Why did you finish it? I only had a bite."
"At least, you still had one." Amanda groaned and held her head when it started aching. Meanwhile, Ginny went over to the refrigerator, checking if there was still some ice cream left.
"I was the one who asked for ice cream!" Ginny crossed her arms. An idea popped into Amanda's mind and she stood up and walked to her slowly.
"I still have some." She smiled widely at the fuming girl, still walking towards her with a look of admiration in her eyes.
"Oh really?" Ginny glared at her. "Where is it? The bloody tub's empty." She started feeling nervous when her back hit a wall and Amanda was a few inches away from her. "What are you doing?"
"Giving you ice cream," said Amanda innocently. Ginny closed her eyes and waited for Amanda's lips to press on hers. Amanda grinned before she leaned in closer and closer. She could smell the faint scent of broom polish on Ginny, but she stopped just as their lips were an inch apart.
Ginny opened her eyes and looked at her in confusion. "Why did you stop?"
"I don't want to get killed," said Amanda softly. "May I kiss you?" At Ginny's nod, Amanda leaned in and kissed the girl with passion. Ginny returned it with just as much force, dropping the spoon she was holding. She felt her knees buckling and a whole zoo in her stomach at Amanda's kiss. It may have been just their third, but Ginny was already feeling these emotions she had never felt before.
In a bold move, Amanda swiped her tongue across Ginny's bottom lip and deepened the kiss while wrapping her arms around Ginny's waist to support the girl. Ginny wrapped her own arms around Amanda's neck, tasting the remnants of mint chocolate along with Amanda's minty breath. They finally parted for the need of air, both of them panting with cheeks flushed.
"Well, you got your ice cream now, Gin," said Amanda with a wink before she picked up the spoon Ginny dropped and started washing it.
"Why?" Ginny said suddenly.
"Why what?"
"Why are you using three of your kisses when it's only been two days? Why are you wasting it like this?" Amanda stopped in what she was doing, and Ginny started wondering whether she should have not asked the question or not, but she just wanted to know. Surely, there was a reason why. After all, Amanda was one of the most brilliant people Ginny knew.
Amanda turned off the faucet and walked over to Ginny with a soft smile. Ginny closed her eyes once more when Amanda leaned in. Amanda smiled bitterly before she leaned in closer and placed a kiss on Ginny's forehead, which made Ginny's eyes open.
"Those three kisses aren't a waste because it's you I've shared them with. Everything I share with you is everything to me, Ginny." Amanda leaned back and looked at Ginny with love in her eyes. When Amanda went back to the sink, Ginny started feeling guilty. Amanda deserved all the love in the world, but she couldn't give that to her. Ginny couldn't love her like Amanda did to her. She was about to go to her room when Amanda spoke all of a sudden.
"You may think that this deal is stupid or a waste of time, but this deal is everything to me. What we share in these 20 days are what I'll keep in my heart forever." Amanda finished washing and smiled slightly before walking past her. "Good night, Ginny."
And with the sound of the closing of Amanda's door, Ginny went back to her senses and walked to her room. She fell back on her bed and held her hands to her chest, trying to calm her loud and fast heartbeat down. Why was she reacting like this? Amanda always said things like that, but why was she feeling different now? What on bloody hell was happening to her? But Ginny smiled softly as she held her hand to her lips. No ice cream could top the kiss they just shared and the sweet ball of fluff that was Amanda Lewis.
