day 13, 13/20 kisses

✼ •• ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ •• ✼

Amanda got home late after talking a lot with her friends and she had to bring the two boys home because they were too drunk. As she was too tired, she felt too lazy to cook breakfast so she just prepared two bowls of cereals for her and Ginny. While they ate, Amanda could see how Ginny had bags under her eyes as if she hadn't slept well at all.

"Are you all right, Gin?" Amanda asked her worriedly. "You looked like you haven't slept well."

Ginny shook herself out of her thoughts and looked up at Amanda. "What?"

"I asked if you were all right." Amanda was worried at the clear exhaustion on Ginny's face.

"Oh yeah." Ginny nodded while smiling slightly at her roommate. "We just have the usual test today. Gwenog's testing us to see who would be in the starting line up, and I was just reading some of the plays last night."

Amanda looked at Ginny with a frown on her face before letting out a sigh and smiling softly at Ginny. "Don't worry about your test, Gin. Just relax. I know you're going to ace it, and you'll be the best chaser on the team."

"Really? Do you think I'll pass?" Ginny asked with hope in her voice.

Amanda chuckled softly and smiled widely at the Chaser. "Of course. That's a fact. You're a bloody great player, and you're so hardworking. You don't stop until you get the results you want. That's how I know you'll be the Ace Chaser on the Harpies."

And Ginny felt all of the tenseness leave her body, a new fire burning in her at Amanda's words, and she knew that she would be taking her test with Amanda's words in mind. Amanda was the type to keep her thoughts to herself because she found it hard to express what she felt in words, but the advice the older girl gave her was everything to Ginny. Amanda was the light in Ginny's darkest hours. Whether she was feeling heartbroken or exhausted or stressed, Amanda would be there to make her feel better with her mere presence and sweet words.

"Thank you, Ada." Ginny smiled softly at Amanda who blushed and looked back down at her food. Ginny couldn't help but smile even wider at the flustered Auror. The two of them finished breakfast at 9 AM, and Amanda washed up quickly since she only had a few minutes before work.

While Amanda was fixing her necktie in front of the mirror, she took a glance at Ginny who was so focused on reading the Quidditch plays. Amanda smiled in amusement before she took something from the refrigerator and set it down in front of Ginny. Seeing that Ginny was still preoccupied with her papers, Amanda tapped her on the shoulder.

"What is it?" Ginny mumbled under her breath, still reading the plays.

Amanda rolled her eyes before taking the notebook from Ginny. "Here, Gin." She started leaning in and Ginny's eyes fluttered shut in anticipation of the kiss, but she was surprised when Amanda's lips landed on her forehead, and instead of her lips. Her eyes opened to see Amanda with the soft look in her eyes that was reserved for Ginny only.

"Good luck, Gin. I know you'll get it." Amanda smiled softly and gave back Ginny's papers. She also placed something in Ginny's other hand, and Ginny grinned at her when she saw that it was a Treacle Tart.

Amanda grinned back before checking the time. She picked up her bag while Ginny followed her with her eyes while smiling slightly.

"Hey, Ada?" Ginny suddenly called out, and Amanda stopped in her tracks while looking at Ginny in confusion.

"Thank you, you idiot." Ginny smiled at the older girl who laughed loudly before grinning back at Ginny.

"Go get your spot, darling." Amanda waved at her before wearing her shoes and going out of their flat. As Ginny turned back to her papers, she heard a shout from outside. "Take care of yourself, Gin. I love you!"

✼ •• ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ •• ✼

"And I'm done with this report, sir." Amanda handed the folder to the Head Auror, Williamson, who nodded his head in acknowledgement as he read through Amanda's reports.

Williamson closed the folder and smiled at Amanda. "You've done a great job, Lewis."

"Thank you, sir." Amanda beamed back at him, happy at the compliment.

"I've heard you've been taking a lot of night shifts for the past three months. Go on and take a rest for today." Williamson said and put back the folder in their drawers.

"Really, sir?"

"Yes, Lewis. You've been doing so well." Williamson chuckled at the girl. "Now, go."

"Thank you, sir." Amanda bowed slightly before going out of his office and checking the time. Ginny's Quidditch test must have been done by now. She took everything she needed from her office before waving goodbye to her fellow Aurors.

Amanda Apparated out of the Ministry and appeared outside the Holyhead Harpies' Quidditch Pitch. She smiled as she saw Angelina coming out of the stadium. "Angelina."

"Hello there, Ada." Angelina smiled at her. "What are you doing here?"

"I was just wondering where is Ginny. Is she done with the test?" Amanda asked curiously while looking around at the players who were leaving the stadium.

"Oh, yes, she probably is. Why don't I call her out?" Angelina said, turning back to go inside.

"There's no need, Angelina." Amanda said reassuringly. "I think she's about to get out anyways."

"Okay then, Ada. See you next Sunday." Angelina waved at her before Disapparating out of the Pitch. Amanda looked back at the entrance and grinned when she saw her redhead roommate coming out. She was just about to call out to her when she saw how tired Ginny looked, and worry immediately came over her. What happened? Did she fail the test?

Ginny didn't even notice that Amanda was a few inches away from her because she was too tired from the test Gwenog had just put them through and aside from that, they had to make another report. Although it was lunch, Ginny just decided to eat later and finish her report first. Ginny was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't notice how someone walked right behind her.

"You look like someone took your Treacle Tart away." Ginny jumped and held a hand to her heart at the sudden whisper. She looked behind her and saw Amanda laughing loudly at the sight. Ginny glared at the older girl before smacking her on the back of her head.

"Damn, Gin." Amanda rubbed the back of her head though she was still laughing. "You sure pack a punch."

Ginny rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Why are you here anyways?"

"Got off work early. Where are you going?" Amanda followed after her when Ginny started walking ahead of her. Amanda sped her own pace up until she was walking beside Ginny.

"Flourish and Blotts." Ginny answered simply.

"Shouldn't you eat first?" Amanda asked with worry.

"We have another report, courtesy of our captain." Ginny grumbled at the tasks Gwenog kept on assigning them. "At this rate, we should just be Quidditch correspondents instead. I'll just eat later."

"Okay." Amanda held her hand out to Ginny which made both of them stop.

Ginny looked at her in confusion. "What?"

"Come on. Let's go to Flourish and Blotts." Amanda said with a smile.

"Shouldn't you eat first?" Ginny frowned at her. "You usually don't get off work early."

"I'd rather come with you, and I wanted to check some books anyways." Amanda's hand was still raised.

Ginny just stared at her hand before looking back at the older girl. "But you love food. And you don't miss your meals if you're not busy."

"And I'm not yet hungry." Amanda chuckled and put down her now aching arm.

"You only ate cereals!" Ginny said in frustration. Amanda looked around and blushed slightly when she saw that Ginny's teammates were looking at them. She apologized to them before raising an eyebrow at Ginny, wondering why she was getting so worked up.

"And you had cereals too." Amanda sighed before raising her hand again. "Now, come on, Gin. I think my arm's about to fall off."

Ginny hesitated before taking Amanda's hand. The two of them Apparated to Diagon Alley. As they walked to Flourish and Blotts, Ginny looked back at her roommate with worry. "Are you sure? Are you really not hungry?"

"Yes, Gin. I am." Amanda chuckled slightly and wrapped an arm around the Gryffindor. "And you're more precious to me than food. You should be honored, darling."

Ginny rolled her eyes and took off Amanda's hold on her. "You're such an idiot. A bloody idiot." Amanda just grinned while walking with Ginny who couldn't help the small smile that came onto her face at the sweetness of Amanda Lewis.

The two of them were at the corner for what seemed to be 30 minutes already. The only sounds that were heard were the turning of the pages from both girls and the scribbling of Ginny on her parchment. Amanda was reading one of her novels while Ginny had started on her report as soon as they sat down. Amanda did not try bothering the Chaser, knowing that this paper was important to her, and that it was not the time to do so.

While Ginny was getting stressed with the report, Amanda read her book that she was slowly getting tired of. When she got tired of the same page she had been reading for over 20 minutes already, she took a glance at Ginny though she did it with subtlety, not wanting to distract the focused girl. She glanced back at the book and held in a groan, wondering why she chose a cliché novel of all the things she could read. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a chair screeching, and she saw Ginny stand up her seat.

"What is it?" Amanda closed her book and observed Ginny who was looking around at the bookshelves.

"I'm just looking for a book." Ginny muttered.

"Do you want me to help?" Amanda was about to stand up.

"No, I'll be fine." At her words, Amanda nodded and sat back down, reading her book again as Ginny walked away and looked around at the shelves. After 5 minutes passed and Ginny had not returned yet, Amanda stood up and looked around for the girl, but she wasn't there. She walked through all the shelves but she was still not there.

Amanda's eyes then went to the stairs and she clicked her tongue, feeling too lazy to walk up, but she did so anyways. She walked around the second floor of the bookshop and saw that there were only 2 people on that floor, and they were both sleeping. She started walking through the shelves again, and as she arrived at the corner, she saw Ginny there, reading a book with a focused look in her eyes.

"Bloody hell, Gin. The book you needed was this far?" Amanda said with slight amusement.

Ginny jumped at her voice before chuckling at her words. "Sorry, Ada. I was just too focused on it."

"It's fine, no problem at all." Amanda looked around and saw that the books were mostly about Quidditch and Arithmancy. She liked Arithmancy, but mixing it with Quidditch was a different matter that made Amanda's head ache. She looked back at Ginny who went back to reading when she thought of something that made her smile mischievously.

It was a stupid idea, and Ginny would probably get mad at her after this, but what's life without a risk, right? Amanda was bored, and she would die either way. She would rather die due to Ginny's rage rather than boredom.

"Hey, Gin?" Amanda called out slowly.

"What is it?" Ginny mumbled, still looking down at her book.

"We're in a bookstore."

"I know that."

"And there aren't much people, right?"

"It's probably because it's lunch time, and the students have already bought their books."

"And we're here in the corner. In a secluded area."

In her confusion, Ginny looked at up at Amanda with furrowed eyebrows. She saw how her roommate was smirking at her, and it made Ginny think about how attractive she looked with that smirk on her face.

"W-What are you going on about?" Ginny stuttered.

Amanda grinned at the flustered girl. "Just remembered your movies."

"So, what about them?" Ginny asked in a low voice, slowly walking backwards when Amanda started walking towards her.

"You know, how cliché they are." Amanda smirked once more when she saw that Ginny's back was already against the wall. She took a step forward leaving only a few steps in between them.

"Seriously, Ada." Ginny said warningly. "What are you thinking?"

Amanda took another step forward and whispered lowly. "Isn't this where the two characters would kiss?" She stared into Ginny's eyes.

Ginny blinked before looking around to see if there was anyone near them. She then whispered with a glare. "What do you think are you doing?"

Amanda smiled innocently, but her eyes were glinting with mischief. She took another step towards the Chaser and whispered. "Taking a step towards you." Ginny noticed how Amanda's eyes drifted off to her lips, and she held in her breath at that. "Leaning in towards you."

Ginny held her back by the shoulders. "Stop moving, you git! This book is going straight to your lips." She stretched her arm out which had the book named He Flew Like A Madman in her hand.

Amanda just continued smiling at her before holding Ginny's arm back and leaning in once more. She leaned in closer and closer until just one move would make their lips touch. The two of them stopped and just stared into each other's eyes. All their emotions were communicated through their eyes.

Amanda whispered softly. "And kissing you." Ginny's eyes closed immediately when she felt Amanda's lips press against hers. She didn't know why she did it, but her lips moved against Amanda's. Still holding Ginny's arm that had the Quidditch book in her hand, Amanda slowly brought it down and took the book. She did not dare break the kiss as she moved closer to Ginny, their bodies pressed against each other. In the heated kiss, Ginny forgot all about her report and she pulled Amanda closer by wrapping her arms around the Auror's neck. Amanda smiled into their kiss at her action.

It seemed both of them forgot the need for air because none of them had pulled away from the kiss, forgetting that they were in public and someone could see them. When there was the sound of the screech of the chair, Amanda jumped back and turned around. She sighed in relief when she saw that there was no one behind them, but that relief turned into nervousness when she turned back to Ginny who had an unreadable expression on her face. Bloody hell, she was going to die.

Amanda smiled nervously at the panting Ginny. "Your movies did have a lesson, Ginny."

Ginny glared at her and slapped her on the arm. "You're such an idiot! That's what you get, you arse."

Amanda groaned and her eyes widened when she saw Ginny raise her hand again. She caught Ginny's arm and pulled her closer, once again only a few inches separating them. Amanda cupped Ginny's face and looked into Ginny's eyes. "And this is what you get for smacking me." Amanda started leaning in once more, making Ginny's eyes close. Her eyes opened once more when she felt Amanda's lips on her cheeks and she felt Amanda put the book back in Ginny's hands.

Amanda grinned at the blushing Ginny and stepped away, giving them both some space. She patted Ginny's hot cheeks with a smirk. "Do well on your report, darling." She walked away and left Ginny there. Ginny sighed and held her hands to her warm cheeks. She looked behind her and blushed immediately when she remembered what happened just a few moments ago.

Ginny went down the stairs with a tight grip on the book. When she saw how Amanda was back to reading her book, she held in the sudden urge to smack her roommate because she held a hand to where her heart was ramming against her chest. She shook her head immediately. She was probably just nervous because someone could have seen them. That was the only reason why.

"Hey, Ada, aren't you going to eat yet?" Ginny asked the older girl as normal as she could while sitting down.

"I'm good. I'll just wait for you." Amanda muttered while reading her book.

"But you haven't eaten anything yet." Ginny protested. "Just go to Alicia's and I'll follow you."

"And I'm not hungry yet. Just do your report and I'll read my book. Then, we'll go together." The finality in Amanda's tone just made Ginny sigh before she started speeding up on doing her report because she too was feeling hungry.

Time soon passed, and it was 3 in the afternoon when Ginny finally finished her report. She stretched her arms in satisfaction before cleaning up her workspace. She looked at the sleeping girl in front of her with guilt. Amanda stayed with her the whole time even if Ginny knew that the older girl was hungry.

Ginny picked up her bag before going around the table. Just as she was about to wake Amanda up, she stopped and smiled softly at the peaceful look on Amanda's face. It looked like she was dreaming of something good.

"Ada?" Ginny whispered and tapped Amanda's cheeks lightly. "Ada, I'm done. Let's go eat." Amanda mumbled something under her breath before burying her face into her arms. Ginny stifled her laughter at the older girl's antics before tapping her again. "Wake up, Ada, or I'm eating steak without you."

When Amanda did not move, Ginny sighed and started to stand up. "Goodbye Ada. I'm leaving." It seemed to be effective because Amanda reached a hand out and clasped it around Ginny's wrist.

"Don't leave me." Amanda mumbled once more, but this time, Ginny could hear it. "Stay with me, Gin."

Ginny smiled softly before bending down again and tucking in the strands of hair behind Amanda's ear. "Wake up then, eh?" Then, there was the sudden sound of the screeching of a chair, and Amanda jumped in her seat. She looked around for where the noise came from, and to her surprise, she saw Ginny bending down beside her.

Amanda immediately let go when she realized she was holding onto Ginny's wrist. "Sorry." She glanced at Ginny's side of the table and saw that it was all clean. "Did you finish it?"

"Yeah, I think I had a harder time waking you up though." Ginny teased the Auror who blushed.

"Sorry about that. I was just a little sleepy." Amanda smiled apologetically at her.

"It's fine, Ada." Ginny shook her head. "You came with me anyways."

Amanda grinned at her. "So, should we eat then?"

Ginny couldn't help but chuckle at the excitement of her roommate. "Yes. I'm hungry too." She started picking up the books she borrowed from the bookstore.

Amanda went beside her and took the books from Ginny. "Wait for me outside, I'll just fix these." She went to the shelves without hearing Ginny's response. Ginny could only smile as she made her way out of the bookstore.

"And just two left." Amanda fixed the books quickly, putting them back in the right sections and the right places. She walked to the last shelf and put the last book in. She walked back down to the first floor, and she was about to go out of the bookstore when someone called her name.

"Amanda? Amanda Lewis?"

Amanda turned around and to her surprise, she saw Terry Boot there. Terry was one of the younger Ravenclaws during Amanda's time, and he was usually at the Auror's office to give Amanda some of the information she needed.

"Hello there, Terry." Amanda smiled awkwardly since she and Terry were just workmates and not even close friends. "Am I needed at work? Did Auror Williamson say something?"

Terry just chuckled at the Auror. "No, no. I just wanted to ask you something." Amanda was confused at how Terry was acting, but she glanced back at the entrance to check if Ginny was still there, but she couldn't see where Ginny was in her position.

"Go on then, what is it?" Amanda glanced at the door again.

Terry took in a deep breath. Yeah... uh, Amanda, would you like to have dinner with me? Tonight?" Amanda stopped looking at the door and looked at Terry with wide eyes. He was looking at Amanda with red cheeks and an unreadable gaze in his eyes. Amanda did not know how to say it because she didn't really want to go. She and Terry have only passed by each other a few times, and they didn't know each other really well. And Amanda hated being asked that question because it was too awkward to turn down the offer, but she didn't want to accept the offer either.

Terry looked at her with a smile on his face, waiting for Amanda's answer. Amanda looked away from him and sighed. "Sorry, but maybe not?"

Terry's smile turned into a frown before he shook his head and smiled again. "How about lunch tomorrow?"

Amanda sighed again, thinking about what she could do to stop him. "Sorry, Terry, but –"

"There's this Muggle café near the Ministry." Terry said excitedly. "And I'm sure you'll love their pastries."

"Terry, listen, I–"

"And I can pick you up at your office? We can–"

"Didn't you hear her? She said no, didn't she?" A cold voice cut him off. Amanda's eyes widened when she saw Ginny there. Ginny glared at Terry while walking to Amanda. "She can't have dinner with you because she's going to have dinner with me."

"Okay then, how about lunch tomorrow–"

"She'll be having lunch with me too. In fact, she'll be eating with me all the time." Ginny wrapped an arm around the silent Amanda and started pulling her away. "Now, we still have somewhere to go to. We'll see you soon... I'm sorry what's your name?"

"Terry–"

"Yes, good bye, Terra." Ginny sent him one last glare before bringing Amanda out of the bookstore. Ginny had only went in because she had been waiting for Amanda for 10 minutes already, and she was so hungry that she was getting annoyed that Amanda was taking too long in fixing the books, but the annoyance was replaced by surprise when she saw Amanda talking to Terry Boot. She noticed how Amanda started looking around, as if looking for help. Amanda may have been a great Auror and a great friend, but to people outside her friends, she just felt awkward with them.

She then started her walk to the two and heard about how Terry kept on asking Amanda out when she already said no. He was so insistent that Ginny's annoyance became directed towards him. She wondered why he couldn't see that Amanda did now want to eat with him? Ginny took that as her opportunity to come into the conversation, and it turned out to be effective because Terry watched them go with a frown on his face.

When they were out of the bookstore, Ginny let out a scoff. "Can you believe that guy? Didn't he see that you don't want to go with him?" She was about to say something else when she realized that Amanda was still quiet. She took off her hold on the older girl. "Ada? Are you okay?"

Amanda snapped back to her senses and shook her head slightly. "Yes, yes. I'm sorry. I'm just a bit tired."

"Are you sure?" Ginny frowned at her.

Amanda smiled at her roommate. "Yes, now come on. I'm really hungry." They started their walk down Diagon Alley while Amanda looked around for where they should eat. "Where do you want to eat, Gin?"

"What?"

Amanda chuckled in amusement. "It's my treat."

"I want some steak."

"Come on then."

While they walked, Ginny suddenly felt someone hold her hand. She looked down to see that Amanda intertwined their fingers. She looked up and saw that Amanda was looking around at the stores, but she had a blush on her cheeks.

"Thank you. For saving me earlier." Amanda mumbled, her blush growing darker.

Ginny grinned and pulled Amanda closer. "I think I need something more than holding hands, Miss Lewis."

Amanda chuckled before smiling mischievously at her roommate. "Then get ready for your kiss later."

"You git, that's not what I meant!" Ginny smacked Amanda on the shoulder while blushing. Amanda just laughed in response before she started walking faster due to the hunger.

After their lunch, the two decided to buy some Pot Noodles on the way for dinner. When they arrived, Amanda put the food they bought in their respective places while Ginny went to the couch and turned on the television to watch her movies. Amanda held in the urge to scoff at the sound of the cringe-worthy lines from the movies. She lay down on the floor while reading her book.

"Do you have a night shift today?" Ginny asked so suddenly.

"Nope, it's my day off." Amanda answered, still reading her book. "Do you have work tomorrow?" She glanced at Ginny who shook her head. Amanda grinned at her. "That's good."

Ginny looked at the reading girl with curiosity. "Why?" Amanda simply waved her hand dismissively, still reading her book. Ginny rolled her eyes and gave her roommate a kick. "Oi, why did you ask?"

"Don't make plans for tomorrow." Amanda smiled at Ginny again before going back to her book.

"This idiot." Ginny mumbled while turning her attention back to the movie.

Amanda suddenly stood up and put down her book. "I'll just get something."

"Okay?" Ginny was confused at how she was so secretive before shrugging and watching her movie. And to her surprise, Amanda took a coat and went out of their flat, and Ginny heard the distinct sound of a Pop. Where did she Apparate to?

After an hour, the door opened again, and Amanda came in with a smile on her face. Ginny raised an eyebrow at her. "Where have you been?"

"Just out." Amanda grinned at her. "I'm hungry. I'll go cook dinner."

"Let me do it." Ginny stood up and stretched her arms. "I can cook Pot Noodles."

"Thank you." Amanda said with a grateful smile before she sat down on the couch while taking out something from her coat.

Ginny went to her and tried to see what it was. "What is that anyways? And where have you been?"

Amanda hid it immediately and flicked Ginny on the forehead. "Go cook our dinner. It's nothing."

Ginny rubbed her forehead and glared at her. She pushed Amanda off the couch which made Amanda laugh loudly. Ginny went to the kitchen to make the Pot Noodles and put cheese in Amanda's, knowing she loved cheese with her noodles.

"Ada! Food's ready." Ginny called out. Amanda got up excitedly and sat down on the table. Ginny couldn't help but chuckle at the older girl's excitement. "Are you that hungry?"

"That I am." Amanda started eating her own cup.

"But we just ate 3 hours ago."

"And the hungry must eat."

"Indeed." Ginny just shook her head in amusement before she too started to eat hers.

"That was just amazing." Amanda sighed in contentment when she finished her Pot Noodles.

Ginny raised an eyebrow at her. "It's just Pot Noodles.

"That were cooked by Ginny Weasley who couldn't cook without burning a pot." Amanda grinned teasingly.

Ginny kicked her from under the table. "Shut it."

"Let me wash the dishes. Go wash up." Amanda stood up and took all the dishes.

"Thank you." Ginny smiled at her roommate.

Amanda smiled back at her. "Seriously, go wash up, you smell like dung and look like someone who stepped on dung." She moved away quickly when Ginny raised her arm.

Ginny sent her one last glare before going to the bathroom. She did look and feel exhausted especially since they had a Quidditch play a while ago. She took a shower to freshen up, and Ginny didn't notice how time passed. She finished her shower and went out of the bathroom in the clothes she had been wearing a while ago and to her surprise, Amanda was there.

"Had a good shower?" Amanda smiled at her.

"Yeah, I did look like someone who stepped on dung." Ginny shook her head in amusement.

"I told you so." Amanda said teasingly. "Now go. My bladder's about to burst from waiting."

"Sorry." Ginny smiled sheepishly at her. "I needed to freshen up." She walked past Amanda and just as she made one step, Amanda took her arm and turned her around to face Amanda. Ginny had to hold Amanda's shoulders for balance. She glared at the older girl. "What are you –"

Amanda suddenly leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Ginny's lips. Just as fast as she came, Amanda opened her eyes and pulled away with a soft smile.

"Just a thank you for saving me." Amanda let go of Ginny and went inside the bathroom. Before she closed the door, she stopped and looked back at Ginny. "Good night, Gin. I love you." And with that, Amanda closed the door.

Hearing the click of the lock, Ginny shook herself out of her stupor and looked at the door of the bathroom. She put a hand to her lips and ran into her own room, slamming the door. She leaned back on her door and held her hand to her chest. Her heart was beating so hard and so fast that it surprised Ginny. Even her cheeks were feeling so warm. What was happening to her?
