"Hey, Eli?" said Amanda mindlessly stirring her coffee.

"Yes, Ada?"

"How long did it take for you to fall in love with Hermione?" Amanda's question made Eliza look up at her in confusion, wondering what was she going on about all of a sudden.

"I don't know? I just fell in love with her. Why?" Eliza asked.

"Really? Don't you have a specific number or something?" Amanda pushed on.

"Hmmm." Eliza thought about it, thinking what could have happened to make Amanda ask this. Then, her eyes lit up in excitement. Had she finally fallen out of love with Ginny Weasley? Had she finally found someone else? "I think, 20 days?"

"Really?" Amanda's eyes lit up and she hugged Eliza across the counter. "Thank you, Eliza."

"Anytime, Amanda, but-" She was cut off because Amanda suddenly ran out of her flat. Eliza stared at the door before shaking her head and sipping her coffee again, reading the book she had been reading then the door swung open.

"So, are you going to tell me why you're being weird now?" said Eliza, thinking it was Amanda who came in.

"I just arrived, love," giggled Hermione and she kissed Eliza's cheek. "Good evening to you."

"Good evening," said Eliza softly and she leaned in to kiss Hermione on the lips. "Sorry about that. It's just Amanda was being weird."

"She did ask me something a while ago," said Hermione, making her own cup of coffee.

"Was it about how long it took you to fall in love with me?"

"Yes, how did you know?" asked Hermione in surprise.

"That's why she was being weird!" Eliza started pacing in confusion and frustration. "I was just making coffee then she suddenly asked that. Did she maybe fall out of love with Ginny? Did she fall in love with someone else? But she would tell me if that happened right?"

"Love," said Hermione gently. She walked over to Eliza and placed her hands on the shorter girl's shoulders.

Eliza looked up at her with a worried gaze. "What if she's in trouble or something?"

"She won't, love." Hermione cupped the Ravenclaw's face and started rubbing her thumbs over her cheeks, making Eliza close her eyes and relax. "You know Ada. She's smart enough to know what she should and should not do."

"I know, but she's an idiot when it comes to love. Look, she's still in love with Ginny even when she has been rejected so much, and she knows Ginny's still in love with Harry." Eliza sighed heavily and sank into the couch. Hermione sat beside her and set Eliza's head in her lap. She was worried about Amanda too. After all, the Ravenclaw had been through too much already.

"She's always wishing for me to happy." Eliza smiled softly at Hermione. "I was such a coward that I couldn't even talk to you without stuttering or looking you in the eyes, but she told me that if I don't take my chance, I won't get it anymore, and her advice led me to the person I love the most."

"And I'm glad Amanda said that," Hermione bent down and kissed Eliza softly, which the older returned immediately. When they pulled away, Hermione kissed her cheek. "Amanda may be stupid at times, especially when it comes to love, but if she did move on from Ginny, shouldn't we be happy?"

Eliza stared at her fiancée for a few moments before smiling widely. "You're absolutely right, Mione. She's always been happy for me, and whatever that is... Whatever she's doing, I hope she's happy with it."

"So, can you cuddle with me now?" Hermione opened her arms wide. Eliza chuckled and jumped on the Gryffindor, which made her yelp before they both fell to the ground with Eliza on top of Hermione. They stared at each other before laughing and helping each other up. All their worries about Amanda went out of their minds. Hermione was right. Amanda was smart. She wouldn't do anything stupid... right?

"Amanda! I'm home!" Ginny yelled. She came into their shared flat and grinned when she smelt the familiar smell of Shepherd's Pie. "You've outdone yourself this time, Ada. Hey!" Ginny slapped the older girl on the arm when she took a bite out of her Shepherd's Pie.

"What was that for?" Amanda rubbed her aching arm. "I cooked that."

"And you cooked it for me." Ginny stuck her tongue out and moved her pie closer to herself while she ate it. Amanda just chuckled before getting herself a piece of bread from the cupboard and sitting down on the couch.

Amanda and Ginny were polar opposites. While Amanda would rely on intellect, Ginny would rely on instinct. Amanda had a few close friends and kept to herself while Ginny was friends with everyone. Amanda thought before she acted while Ginny acted before she thought. They had so much more differences, but maybe those differences were the reasons why they had stayed friends for so long.

Amanda first became friends with Fred and George when they were all in their first year at Hogwarts. The summer before their second, Fred and George invited Amanda over to the Burrow, and Amanda saw the eight-year-old Ginny Weasley who was trying to get her brothers' attention, but to no avail. Amanda introduced herself to the small Weasley and from that moment on, they became friends.

Before Ginny became of age to come to Hogwarts, she and Amanda would exchange letters as much as they could. It was Amanda's fourth year when Ginny finally came into Hogwarts. Ginny opened up to the Ravenclaw about how she had been feeling when Tom Riddle's diary was possessing her, and she remained with the distraught girl through it all. And for all the years after that, whether it was Sirius Black's escape or the Triwizard Tournament or Dumbledore's Army and even after her graduation from Hogwarts, Amanda was always there for Ginny.

When Fred died, both of them were devastated, but Amanda knew she needed to be the rock for Ginny. She couldn't let the girl see she was breaking so Amanda let the girl shout at her and hit her. She hugged her tight and let Ginny cry into her shoulder despite her own tears falling down her face. She did just as Ginny did when her uncle Sirius died during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.

"I'm done," said Ginny, plopping down beside Amanda and turning on the television with treacle tarts in hand. Amanda stared at her while she watched Pretty Woman. Amanda smiled slightly. It was Ginny's favorite movie after all.

"You are adorable." Amanda blurted out.

Ginny's eyes widened before she rolled them. "You're mad."

"You are," said Amanda, squishing Ginny's cheeks. "See, like a baby cub."

"Stop it, you git." Ginny slapped her hands away, but she was chuckling. Amanda chuckled with her before she stared at Ginny again. It was stupid... But it was her only chance... But it might backfire... But would she chase after her forever? In that debate with herself, Amanda made a choice between stupidity and intelligence.

"Let's date for 20 days," said Amanda. She was a fool, but then again, who wasn't when it came to love?

"What?" Ginny looked away from the movie and noticed the way Amanda was staring at her and she blushed lightly. "I don't get it."

"Let's date for 20 days and if you still don't fall in love with me then, I'll stop after these 20 days."

"Where'd you get those 20 days anyways?"

"I asked Eli and Mione," said Amanda proudly. "It took them 20 days to fall in love with each other."

Ginny shook her head and sighed. "Ada, you know-"

"Yes, you're in love with Harry Potter," said Amanda, her voice faltering slightly before she smiled mischievously. "But you're not together."

"Hey! Did you-"

"That's only because you're too afraid to tell him- Ow!" Amanda pouted and rubbed her arm that Ginny punched. She smiled softly when Ginny stared at her with a face that Amanda knew meant that she was thinking deeply.

"What do you mean by date anyway?" Ginny finally said.

"You know, like that," said Amanda, pointing to the television.

Ginny's eyes widened when just at that time there was a mature scene on the movie. "What the-"

"No!" shouted Amanda, her cheeks flushing. "I meant the typical girlfriend things. We'll go out on dates. Just that. We're not going to do that."

Ginny chuckled lightly at the flustered girl. Her eyes widened when she realized what the older just said. "Girlfriend things, you mean-"

"Yes, Gin." Amanda smiled innocently. "Hugs and kisses too."

"Bloody hell, no! T-That's too much." Ginny crossed her arms. Amanda frowned at her reaction before an idea popped into her mind.

"How about 20 kisses only? I could use them anytime, but I'll have to ask for your consent first. At least, we set our boundaries, right?" Amanda mentally pat herself on the back for thinking quickly. Ginny stared at the excited girl for a moment, thinking hard about the deal. It was stupid, but it was at the same time brilliant. She let out a sigh and rubbed her forehead.

"Just forget it," said Amanda sadly. "It's stupid, I-"

"Let's do it." Ginny cut her off.

"What?" Amanda looked at her in mixed surprise and confusion.

"Let's date for 20 days. It's a deal, but you better stop after this."

"Ginevra!" Amanda grinned and hugged the younger girl tight. "You are an amazing woman, you are."

"Get off," Ginny grumbled. She shook her head at the excitement of the Ravenclaw. "But only 20 kisses, and I'll keep tabs."

"Yes, ma'am!" Amanda said excitedly while standing up, and Ginny couldn't help but chuckle.

"Don't expect anything from me, all right?" Amanda nodded, too happy to care.

"This won't change anything between us, all right?"

"You have my word, Gin," said Amanda cheerfully while she raised her right hand. Ginny laughed loudly at her roommate's behavior. She was laughing so hard that she didn't notice how Amanda smiled softly and started walking towards her.

Ginny calmed down slightly and looked up at the girl. "When are we-" Ginny felt Amanda's hands cup her face before she felt Amanda's soft lips on her own. Amanda couldn't help it anymore. She had been waiting for this since she was in her 7th year. It took Ginny a second before she realized what was going on and she closed her eyes and kissed Amanda back. Ginny lost herself in the way Amanda kissed her, her heart started speeding up and her whole body started heating up. The two of them pulled away from each other, both catching their breaths from the sudden kiss. Ginny opened her eyes and saw the emotions in Amanda's eyes. Joy, longing and love...

"Today is our day one." Amanda winked at the girl and leaned back. "It's getting late. I know you're tired with Quidditch practice, and I have a case tomorrow." Ginny nodded and stood up absentmindedly, her mind was still fuzzy with the kiss and her lips were still tingling with warmth.

"Have you fallen for me already, Gin? It's just our first day and one kiss- Bloody hell, woman!" Amanda pouted at the girl who smacked her on the shoulder again.

"Y-You just surprised me," said Ginny, her cheeks burning. "Stop laughing."

"Okay," Amanda chuckled before walking towards Ginny and leaning in. The shorter girl closed her eyes, thinking that Amanda was going to kiss her again, but her eyes fluttered open when she only felt Amanda's soft lips on her forehead.

"Good night, Gin," said Amanda with a soft smile. "I love you." With that, she turned around and started on her way to her room, leaving a surprised Ginny who held her hand up to her lips. Amanda always said that to her every night so why was her heart beating faster this time?

Amanda fell on her bed and held a hand to her heart. The emotions came rushing to her, and she just realized what she had done. She was a Ravenclaw, but this was the most idiotic thing she had done in her life. It was a stupid deal that would not turn out well for her, but she had already done it. There was no turning back. Amanda smiled softly when she heard Ginny's footsteps walk past her room. Amanda Lewis was an idiot, but being the reason Ginny Weasley would smile for 20 days and being able to call the girl hers? That was everything to Amanda.
