x. she's dating the gangster

❀⊱━━━━━━━━━━━⊰❀

A few days after the spectacle, it was the holidays... and there was a pest in the home of the Evans family. A pest in a leather jacket with a red bandana tied around her arm. No matter how many times Lily tried convincing her not to, Alexandra insisted on meeting her girlfriend's family. Lily's family looked at the girl in front of them with curiosity and surprise.

"Mum, Dad, Petunia." Lily started in a quiet voice with a nervous smile on her face. "This is Alexandra." Lily gulped before smiling again. "My girlfriend." The three Evans could only blink and gape at them, wondering how could this happen. Their Lily? In a relationship?

"I realized that it would cost me my life if I didn't say yes to her." Lily said honestly, smiling again.

Alexandra grinned and pulled Lily closer to her before holding her hand out to the Evans. "Mum, Dad. And Petunia."

Chris and Brie Evans smiled and started talking with the Malfoy while Petunia Evans scoffed. Lily could only let out a sigh. She wanted time to go as quick as possible so this pest would be gone already.

"The gangster is now my girlfriend." Lily muttered while lying down on her bed. She was currently talking to Marlene on the telephone. Alexandra had left after dinner to Lily's delight, but she was displeased when her parents had taken a liking to the Marauder. Petunia, on the other hand, did not even try getting to know the Malfoy.

"Remind me, please." Lily sat up abruptly. "How did I get myself into this?"

"You said yes so that Alexandra would stop bothering you." Marlene explained slowly, amused at the situation. She did not like the Marauders much, but she was honestly happy that her best friend was now in a relationship. And also because she knew Alexandra was so much more than a gangster. Maybe, she could change for the better with Lily's influence, and Alexandra could bring Lily out of her shell a little more.

"And maybe you felt guilty too. Just go with it. And besides, if Alexandra gets back with Lily – Let's just call her Ria so it's not confusing. It can you earn one good deed when you get to the afterlife."

Lily laughed sarcastically and fell back on her bed. Why did it seem like the whole world was against her?

"For now, you must tell yourself not to fall in love with Alexandra." Marlene advised her.

Lily smiled and shook her head, the thought did not even come to her mind until Marlene mentioned it. "That's not hard to do."

It was the first day back from the holidays, and Lily and Marlene were on their way to their first class. Suddenly, Sirius, Remus and Peter came flying from behind them on their brooms.

"Excuse me, ladies." Peter called out to the students in front of them. The three Marauders surrounded Lily and Marlene, clearing the way for them.

"Cool. The gangster's girlfriend has bodyguards." Marlene said teasingly.

"No. That's for you." Lily said dismissively, turning the corridor to walk away from the Marauders.

"Wait." Sirius held a hand up to a student who was about to run into Lily. The three followed Lily on their brooms even as she turned back again.

"Ladies, excuse us!" Remus said to the girls in front of them. "Will you all move please?"

"I told you! It's for the gangster's girlfriend!" said Marlene excitedly as she walked with them. Lily rolled her eyes and continued on her way. Suddenly, the Marauders and Lily stopped walking when someone came flying to them on her broom. Her leather jacket zipped up, Alexandra stopped flying and picked up her broom, walking beside Lily.

"Starting today, you won't go to your classes on your own." Alexandra said to her.

"I don't need someone to take – " Lily was cut off because Alexandra pushed a shirt to her face.

"Wear this." Alexandra simply said as she walked again.

"Why? I need to wear the uniform!" Lily said in disbelief, following her. "Why do I even have to wear this? Why do I have to change?"

"You want me to do it for you?" As Sirius, Remus and Peter started teasing them and Marlene grinned at them, Alexandra smirked when Lily took away the shirt and glared at her.

Lily came out of the comfort room, wearing the red shirt with a heart and the letter 'A' in the middle underneath her robes.

"Hurry up!" Alexandra called out.

Lily rolled her eyes and showed her the shirt. "Is this fine for you?"

Alexandra smirked before taking off her jacket, revealing the exact same shirt but with the letter 'L' underneath. Lily couldn't help the small smile on her face while Alexandra tied the jacket around her waist. When they said Alexandra was different as a lover, they weren't lying.

"Hi, Alexandra." Some of the Ravenclaw girls giggled at the sight of the Malfoy.

Alexandra ignored them and took Lily's hand, intertwining their fingers and making Lily look up at her with surprise. Alexandra tugged on her hand, starting their way to their first class. Right then, they walked past Ria and James who Alexandra didn't even glance at. When Ria and James were a few meters away, the four Marauders stopped walking, making Lily stop too.

"No reaction." Peter said, seeing that the two just went on their way. Alexandra simply sighed and pulled Lily along with her again, her heart being downed for the nth time. Lily frowned at the Malfoy before following her to their class. It seemed like she'd have to do this for a long time.

"Ouch!" Lily yelped as Alexandra pulled her into the Hog's Head harshly. It was a Hogsmeade weekend, and Alexandra had ordered her to come with her to the pub. The two of them made their way to the pool tables with Lily glaring at her while Alexandra smiled slightly at the Prefect's reactions.

Alexandra stopped at one of the pool tables. She pulled out a chair for Lily and tapped it. She turned back around to pick up one of the cue sticks and made her way to the table. Putting her bag down on the chair, Lily frowned at the Marauder's actions before walking over to Alexandra.

"Can you teach me how to play?" Lily asked her.

Alexandra raised an eyebrow and put down the cue stick. "Ria quietly watched me play before. She stays put." She gripped Lily's arm and brought her back to the chair, shoving Lily's bag to her.

Lily glared at her, her cheeks turning red in anger. Seemingly forgetting she was a Prefect, she started grunting while jumping on her chair, moving it closer to the pool table. The people around them looked at her weirdly.

Alexandra raised an eyebrow once more when Lily shook the seat, creating more noise. As Alexandra's mouth opened slightly in embarrassment and surprise, Lily glared at her, shaking her chair once more before finally calming down. Well, she couldn't help it. Alexandra Malfoy was an incredible arse.

"Lily." Someone called out. And there was Lily Elton, walking into the pub with a huge smile on her face. Fate was doing its work, and once again, Lily had to do her work as Alexandra's fake girlfriend.

"Hi!" Ria waved back excitedly at her friend.

"Hey, love. Let me teach you how to play." Alexandra suddenly took Lily's hand and pulled Lily towards her. She wrapped her arms around Lily and adjusted Lily's hands in holding the cue stick. Lily forced a smile onto her face, knowing that Ria could be watching them. They were only supposed to be lovey-dovey in front of her anyways.

"Alexandra's here." Ria's friend whispered to her. Ria turned around and her face fell slightly at the sight of the two so close together. "Lily, are you okay?"

"There you go." Alexandra smiled and moved closer to Lily. Lily hummed and smiled even wider. The two of them glanced subtly at Ria to see if she was looking.

Ria just chuckled at her friends. "It's okay. Come on." She and her friends made their way out of Hog's Head, and when they finally left, Alexandra immediately let go of Lily, hitting her nose in the process with the cue stick.

"Ow!" Lily held her nose while glaring at Alexandra.

"You just ruined our scheme." Alexandra scoffed.

"Why?" Lily shot back. "It seemed effective. She saw the whole thing."

"Yeah." Alexandra smiled sarcastically. "She probably saw how annoying you are. Good job." She turned her back on Lily who rolled her eyes and scoffed. Such a sweetheart, Alexandra Malfoy was.

In just a few minutes, Lily would be doing her duties as a Prefect, patrolling the corridors for some students who were sneaking around, and Remus Lupin who was supposed to patrol with her was nowhere to be found though Lily was already used to him not showing up for some nights. He was probably running around or doing whatever with Alexandra and the other Marauders.

"Come on, Lucius is waiting for us." Narcissa Black giggled to her fellow Slytherin girls. "Hurry." They bumped into Lily, making the Prefect yelp and drop her books and her bag. The girls giggled and ran away, making Lily glare at them. The students around whispered before walking away from the scene.

Lily let out a sigh and started picking up her things. Not one of the students dared help her as they only walked past Lily. Suddenly, someone came and helped picked up Lily's things. She looked up and her eyes widened to see it was James.

"Potter?" Lily asked with surprise in her tone.

"Hey there, Lily." James smiled slightly, continuing to pick up her things. Lily was honestly surprised he didn't call her Evans as he always did. He seemed to have... changed. In a good way.

"Those are some gits, aren't they?" James stood up, handing her the books. "Haven't got some manners the whole lot of them. You should've given them detentions."

"Unfortunately, I'm not like Lupin." Lily chuckled, but her chuckle died down when she saw James frown. "I-I'm sorry, and thank you by the way."

"It's no problem, Lily." James smiled softly at her. "And I wanted to apologize again for my actions during the last five years. Can we start over again? As friends?" He held out his hand.

"Of course." Lily smiled back at him and shook his hand. From around the corner, Narcissa Black and the other Slytherin girls were watching with glares.

"I'll get going, Lily." James let go of her hand. "Good luck with your Prefect duties." He waved at her and went on her way. Lily watched him go with a smile before turning back and going the other way. James Potter had matured, and she wondered what could have made him change? Or maybe, who?
