Jemina walked through the train, past the people who whispered and stared as she went. She simply set her eyes ahead, pulling Noah with her and tightening her hold on her bags. She could care less about what they thought. She had a mission to accomplish and a promise to keep. That mattered more than those stupid Death Eaters or what the other students thought.

Finally, Jemina saw an empty compartment and she quickly went in with the silent Noah who was staring at her intently. Letting out a sigh of relief, Jemina sunk down in the seat, surprised to see Noah staring at her. "Oh, Noah. What is it?"

"What is it?" Noah raised his voice in slight anger and worry. "What are you doing here? Don't you know what they've been doing to Muggleborns? El's on the run now after hiding her family and you should โ€“"

"I don't have a family to hide, Noah," interjected Jemina with a sad smile on her face.

Noah's face fell at that and he sat down beside Jemina, hugging her tight. "I... I'm so sorry, Jem. I spoke before thinking... I'm... I'm sorry."

"It's fine." Jemina chuckled, patting him on the back. "It was... them." Both Hufflepuffs clenched their fists, knowing at once who did so. "But I couldn't just hide, Noah. I promised Deanna, I promised my family. I'm going to fight back no matter what any of you say."

Noah saw the determination in her eyes, he knew it was something everyone could see. The fire they saw in Deanna Dumbledore was now alive in Jemina Nightingale, but what the others wouldn't see was how there was pain too in her eyes. He knew she wasn't healed yet from what happened and she was only trying to stay strong.

It was definitely dangerous, but what could Noah do? He should be there for Jemina no matter what and keep the promise to Deanna. And also, for Harry. They may have broken up, but Noah was still in love with him. And it would never fade away.

"So what did you do... after what happened?" asked Noah hesitantly.

Jemina just smiled in response, looking out the window and seeing the train start. This time, there were no parents around to send off their children. Her family wasn't there for her anymore. "Just... learning how to make milkshakes. I'm going to sleep for a while." Ignoring Noah's confused expression, Jemina closed her eyes, smiling as she remembered what happened just a week ago...

Jemina was sitting down at the couch, staring at the photo of their family on the wall blankly. She just had the funeral of her family, she explained to their acquaintances that it was a case of cardiac arrest because of something they ate. She was no doctor, but it was the only excuse she could come up with then.

Now, she was just empty. She had nothing to protect, nothing to live for. Everything was gone and it was all because of her. Her parents died because she was a Muggleborn. Because she was a witch. If she knew this would happen in the end, Jemina would never have chosen to attend Hogwarts...

But it was too late for regrets, it was time to tend to the fire and make it burn what was needed to be burnt. Jemina's fist clenched around her letter from Hogwarts. She still needed to go to Diagon Alley since she needed to buy the stuff she needed, but she had no way to do so.

Suddenly, a knock on the door surprised Jemina and she just let out a sigh, lying down on the couch and ignoring the person at the door, thinking it was just her neighbor again, asking for some water. But after a few moments, the knocking still wouldn't stop.

"Damn it." Jemina cursed under her breath. She stood up and walked to the door, opening it. "Can't you take a hint?" But her voice died down and her eyes widened at the person she saw there. A tall man with a long gray beard, a very familiar man. "Professor Dumbledore?"

"No," said the old man, looking around. "Are you just going to let me stand here?"

"B-But you look just like him," said Jemina in slight amazement though she stepped aside for the man to enter.

"Aberforth Dumbledore, that's the name." Aberforth introduced himself, looking around. He stared at Jemina then with a sad look in his eyes. "I heard about what happened, and I'm sorry."

Jemina looked down at that, her fists clenching again. "Don't be, sir." She remembered what he said before that and looked at him curiously. "So you're Professor Dumbledore's brother, Deanna's uncle?"

"That's right," said Aberforth with a small smile at the mention of his niece. "You see, Deanna's on the run because of You-Know-Who and she told me to keep an eye out for you. I heard of the news yesterday and went here. She said you might be going to Hogwarts but told me to stop you at all costs."

"What?" Jemina said in confusion.

Aberforth just chuckled at her expression, giving his wand a flick and the whole house was being cleaned up at once. "She may have spoken to that fool but she still doesn't want you to go, it's too dangerous."

"But I'm going still!" Jemina raised her voice. "What's going to happen to Hogwarts without Deanna? Someone has to fight!"

"Does that someone have to be you?" Aberforth's question made Jemina shocked. The old man started his way towards Jemina, crossing his arms. "Young people die every day all because of this damned war. Are you ready to be one of them? Are you ready to risk your life?"

Jemina looked down at his question, wondering what she should answer then she finally looked up. Aberforth couldn't help the small smile on his face at the fire in her green eyes, resembling that of his niece's. "Deanna made me realize that the fire will only die if we all give up. I made a promise and I'm going to keep it. No matter what."

Aberforth nodded and pocketed his wand. "Get ready then."

"What?"

"You sure like asking questions." Aberforth clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Get your stuff ready, you'll be safer in Hog's Head. I'll be taking you out tomorrow to Diagon's Alley so come on now. Let's not waste time."

Jemina looked as if she wanted to ask more questions, but the scowl on Aberforth's face made her shut up and nod, running up to her room to start packing her things. She smiled widely, thinking of Deanna. Even when she was away, she was still making sure to take care of them, and it made Jemina realize she was not alone in this fight. They were fighting their own battles but one war. And they would make sure to win it...

"By the way, Jem." Noah suddenly said, making Jemina hum to tell him she was listening. "Why did they let you in?"

Jemina opened her eyes and sat up straight, frowning as she thought of it. She was expecting to put up a fight before coming to Hogwarts... So why did they? Then, Jemina remembered Amycus Carrow's words. The special case... The Lady's request.

It seemed like Noah thought of it too and he looked at Jemina in surprise and realization. "Deanna?"

"Maybe..." Jemina simply mumbled, letting out a sigh. Deanna truly was her savior in more ways than one, and so, it was time for Jemina to give back. For her to protect what Deanna loved.
