"Seoul National University? Not Bad." - Ri-El

Author P.O.V

The morning's serenity was disrupted by the persistent whine of In-Ho, his tiny hands wrapped around my waist.

"Mom~ Wake up!" Inho's voice was tinged with urgency. "Just five more minutes," I mumbled, still ensnared by the remnants of sleep.

"No time for that! We'll both be late!" His insistence was a clear alarm. With a start, I sat up, my mind clearing as I registered his concern. "MOM!!!"

"I'm up, I'm up! What's the rush?" I feigned ignorance, though I knew the routine well. "School waits for no one, Mom. Let's move!" "Aye-Aye, Captain!" I saluted him, a playful gesture to match his mock sternness.

I checked the time and hurried to freshen up. Moments later, I joined Dad and In-Ho at the dining table, now properly attired in a white T-shirt, shirt, and black trousers.

"Morning!" Riel greeted as she approached the dining table. "Good morning!" Inho and his grandfather chimed in unison.

"And what's so good about this morning?" Riel inquired, her tone laced with annoyance. Inho and Mr. Kim responded with infectious enthusiasm, "I'm off to school!" "And I'm meeting your mother!" Their excitement stood in stark contrast to Riel's apparent morning blues.

"Which university did you enroll me in again, Dad?" Riel asked, taking a seat at the table. "Seoul National University. Why do you ask?" Mr. Kim replied, curious. "Just curious. I heard Mom's other children study there too," Riel mentioned casually. Mr. Kim confirmed, "Yes, they do."

"She has eight children, right?" Riel probed further. "Seven sons and one daughter," her dad clarified. "Got it," Riel acknowledged.

With breakfast over, the trio dispersed, each heading their separate waysโ€”In-Ho to school, Mr. Kim to the Kim Empire, and Riel to Seoul National University.

The university's silhouette cut a commanding figure against the morning sky as I parted ways with In-Ho, my thoughts alight with anticipation. Stepping onto the campus grounds, I felt a sense of ownership wash over me. The whispers and gazes of my peers were mere background noise to my determined stride. My mission was clear: find the principal's office.

Around me, voices wove a tapestry of awe and envy. "She's breathtaking," one whispered. "Hey, I'm your girlfriend," another teased.

"She exudes coolness and wealth," noted a third.

"I'll capture her heart," a hopeful voice declared, only to be met with laughter. "Dream on."

Jealousy and suspicion of attention-seeking peppered the murmurs, but I remained unfazed.

Entering the campus, I was momentarily adrift, the location of the principal's office eluding me. It was time to enlist some help.

"Excuse me," I called out, my voice unintentionally sharp. The student halted, a hint of recognition in his eyes. "Yes?" His deep voice echoed my own frostiness.

"Where is the principal's office?" I inquired.

"I'm on my way there. Come with me," he offered, and we walked together, enveloped in silence.

Upon arrival, a familiar greeting awaited us. "Welcome, Mr. Jeon, Ms. Kim." I inwardly groaned; he was one of my mother's sons.

"Let's skip the formalities, Mr. Han," I interjected. "I'm here for my schedule and keys."

Mr. Han acknowledged this and then addressed my companion. "Mr. Jeon, please show Ms. Kim around."

He raised an eyebrow, his reluctance palpable. "Must I?"

"It's protocol," Mr. Han stated simply.

With a resigned sigh, Mr. Jeon acquiesced, and I followed.

"I'm Kim Ri-El," I introduced myself as we moved along.

"Jeon Nam-Joon," he replied tersely.

So, he was one of them. I kept my thoughts private as we proceeded.

Nam-Joon led me to my fourth-year classroom, where the professor greeted me warmly. "Please introduce yourself," he urged.

"Kim Ri-El, 22," I said plainly.

"Aren't you young for a senior?" a student challenged.

"My IQ is 193," I answered smoothly, quelling any doubts.

The class fell into an impressed hush. I settled into my seat, my attention already turning to the lecture that was about to begin.
