Kaurvaki wasn't in the palace of Magadh, she decided to visit her Guru(teacher/master) Kamlika who was accepted in the teacher society by her knowledge and the freedom of opinions. Kaurvaki pluck some flowers and placed them in her basket as she walked along in the forest where her teacher lived. She stopped picking flowers when she saw a rose bush shaking. 'must be an animal!' Kaurvaki thought. Gently moving the bushes as curtains, her eyes witnessed a small rabbit crying in pain from the injury on its leg. She tipped her basket over emptying her picked flowers, grabbing the small rabbit she carefully placed it in her basket. Looking around she knew the palace was too far so she'd ask her guru for treatment.
Time Skip...
"Guru Shri, Guru Shri, I require your assistance, oh!" Kaurvaki realized upon entering the abode of Kamlika, she was in deep meditation. Kaurvaki didn't disturb her guru, lowering her basket she went inside the small cottage and picked a tray of healing herbs and ointments. She took the tray back outside in the sunlight, the small rabbit was silently nibbling on a carrot that was given by Kaurvaki earlier on. Without the rabbit noticing she quickly placed some herbs on its leg and wrapped it up with a torn piece of her dupatta. She let loose the rabbit and allowed it to hop back to its home.
Meanwhile...
"what do you mean they cannot be married?" Rani Dharma questioned furiously. "this is very unwelcoming, they both are of 16 years, they can be married but their horoscopes say something else!" Pandit ji had stated surprised. "what do they say?" Dharma asked fiddling with the end of her veil. "Kumar Ashok can be married but there is Kumari Kaurvaki's chaste at question, if she marries Ashok she must undertake Agni Pariksha with the entire world questioning her purity!"
The pandit ji explained, Dharma turned pale, many questions' whirled in her mind. "pandit Ji how can Kaurvaki undertake Agni Pariksha she is a human being not a deity like Shri Sita Devi!" Dharma had exclaimed, desperate for an answer. "Lakshmi came in the form of a human and she proved her purity towards Ram as Sita, Kaurvaki isn't a normal girl, she is someone who has the blessings of the gods, in every life she has descended on this earth some as Sita, and some as Radha this time Devi has descended as Kaurvaki and now a test is again before her and this time you are the only one who can help her!" Pandit ji told the truth of Kaurvaki towards Dharma.
Dharma was speechless, her soon to be Daughter-in-law was actually Goddess Lakshmi!
Rani Dharma had worry not only written on her face but in her heart, how can she tell her son about this? How can she declare this to Magadh with all the rumours and gossip over the palace? The word will get out to all of Magadh and perhaps all of India. Rani Dharma felt sick, after some time she retired to her bed and as she lay her mind kept wondering about what to tell to Ashok and Kaurvaki?
How can she tell them they can't be married unless Kaurvaki pays a price? And how can she tell them they are forms of deities?
Dharma let the future outcome be decided alone!
