Ajax asked, "Where are you going?"

"I'm going grave digging," October told him with a smile. "Gates may have been dying before our mother stabbed him. Or more like he walked into the saber and our dad took the blame for her. So, we're going to dig up the grave to see if he might have been dying by Nightshade poisoning."

"Jesus Christ, why can't you say crap like that around my mom?" Ajax said, "At least that way she doesn't think I'm lying."

October asked, "Where's the fun in that?" Pugsley nodded. "I'm going now. Pugsley, don't torture him to much. And the grasshopper isn't food for Natasha." He didn't like the idea of leaving Pugsley alone in a motel room while he, Morticia, and Wednesday went to dig up a grave. Granted, it'll probably take an hour or two, but it didn't sit well with him. So Ajax agreed to watch over Pugsley while they were gone.

Pugsley nodded, "Okay."

And October was on his way, to meet his sister so they can go dig up a grave.

Xavier was there, "Where are you running off too?"

"I'm going grave digging with my mother and sister," October told him.

"I need to stop asking what you're getting up to because it's either something illegal or life-threatening," Xavier said.

October shrugged, "Hey, that's what you get for asking."

ย "I've decided to listen to some true crime podcasts," Xavier said.

"I like unsolved mysteries a bit more than solved crimes," October said. "I like the idea that someone can kill you at any point and that the idea that someone knows something. It's a bit thrilling, don't you think?"

"I guess," Xavier replied. "Which one is your favorite?"

"You should look up Israel Keyes," October said. "That guy was a complete dumbass yet he somehow got away with a lot considering what happened to Samantha Koenig. I think he did some stuff on The Highway of Tears. I wouldn't exactly say it's unsolved though." They were silent as they went to the leave the dorm building.

Xavier asked, "So, you're not going to break your dad out of jail?"

"I love my dad but I don't love him enough to want to get thrown into the slammer with him," October said.

Xavier started, "So, let's say you found out that your sister committed a murderโ€”"

"I'll turn her ass her in. I love her, but I don't love her enough to get arrested with her," October said.

Xavier asked, "You wouldn't want to break her out?"

"No, she can rot," October said.

Xavier nodded, "I see."

It was silent as they walked to the entrance of the dorm building, "Oh. Don Henry and Kevin Ives."

Xavier asked, "Who?"

"Don Henry and Kevin Ives, the Boys on the Tracks," October said. "It's still unknown who put them on the train tracks. That mystery is a journey and a half."

Xavier nodded, "I'll look it up."

"I think you'll enjoy it," October told him.

They got to the door.

"Try to come back not covered in blood again," Xavier told him.

October nodded, "I'll try not too."

The look on Xavier's face was funny when October came back in the dorm room, with bandages on his face and neck, the entire left side of his face covered with dried blood, including his shirt and the jacket he wore.

Ajax had asked, "What the hell happened to you?"

"Monster attack," October had replied.

They got to Garrett's grave and started to dig.

After getting a few feet in, Morticia sighed, "This reminds me of when you two got your first grave-digging kits. Wednesday, you were so happy, you nearly smiled."

Wednesday stopped to look at her, "Are you sure you don't want to join us?"

October turned to look back at his mother. Maybe an extra pair of hands will help make it go quicker.

Morticia looked at her hands, "Uh...mm, no, that's okay, darling. I don't want to spoil your fun and bonding with October."

October turned back to dig some more before hitting the casket.

Wednesday shoved him out of the to go push the dirt off the lid to look at the plaque on it. It had Garrett's name and date of birth and date of death on it. "Moment of truth."

October pushed open the casket lid and Wednesday inhaled the smell.

"Hello Garrett," Wednesday said, looking at the remains. "I was right."

"Well, well, well," a voice said. It was Detective Santiago.

Wednesday took something from the corpse and October looked at the detective who shined a light on them.

"Guess there's gonna be an Addams family reunion in lockup tonight," Detective Santiago told them. "The three of you are under arrest."

October held up his hands.

The door closed and a different officer said, "Get comfortable, you can post bail in the morning."

At least Pugsley was with Ajax. October wondered what they were up too. Hopefully causing mayhem in the dorm building. It was a nice thought to drown out his parents' kissing.

"Not even the long arm of the law could keep us apart," Gomez said.

"At least we'll have one last night together," Morticia replied.

"Yes," Gomez said.

"I've seen rabbits with more self-control than you two," October told them.

Wednesday turned away from the door. "Neither one of you are strong enough to serve hard time. And thanks to me, you won't have to."

"I knew our little jailbird would have an escape plan," Gomez said.

Wednesday took out a back handkerchief and unraveled a finger with a white nail. "It's a souvenir from our outing. I borrowed it from Garrett." Morticia took it. "He died from nightshade poisoning. The remarkable preservation of soft tissue and blue tint confirms it."

Morticia started, "Which means Garrett was dyingโ€”"

"Before he was stabbed," October finished.

Morticia and Gomez looked at each other.

"You look even more ravishing as an innocent woman," Gomez told Morticia.

Technically, he still died from being stabbed, but technicalities.

The two started kissing again.

"For once, could you two get off of each other and focus," Wednesday snapped.

October took the finger from Morticia to hand to Wednesday. She grabbed it andโ€”

"Prove to me you're still worthy to be called my son!" a man yelled.

There was Garrett Gates in the passenger seat.

The man handed Garrett as vial of nightshade poison and demanded, "Kill all those outcasts!" Garrett took the vial. "Sneak into the dance and spike the punch bowl."

Garrett put the vial in his coat pocket and it shifted into him walking up and shouting, "Addams!"

It shifted again, with Gomez and Garrett fighting. Garrett's face hit a pillar and the collision caused the vial to break.

"Wednesday," Morticia said, "October."

They ended up on the ground again, with Wednesday on top of October's back.

Morticia asked, "Did you have a vision? What happened? What did you two see?"

There were the pangs of a migraine. Again.

His nose was bleeding. Again.

Wednesday shoved October away from her to explain as she got up, "The night Garrett diedโ€”"

"His dad made him take a vial of nightshade poison to use to poison the outcasts at the 1990 Rave'N," October said. He felt his face to make sure the stitches didn't reopen. Sadly, they didn't.

"The vial broke in Garrett's pocket," Wednesday said. "He wasn't just trying to kill his father, like October said. He was trying to murder the whole school."

October moved to the toilet to throw up in it.

Once they got out of jail in the early morning hours after posting bail, they went to the mayor's office in the town hall. During that time, October texted Ajax to tell Pugsley to go to the town hall.

Mayor Walker allowed them to see him after Wednesday and Morticia made some veiled threats towards him.

"Thank you for seeing us at such short notice, Mr. Mayor," Morticia said.

"Yes, well, veiled threats have that effect," Mayor Walker replied.

October looked at Wednesday, who stepped forward with the finger speaking, "Garrett Gates wasn't killed by a stab wound." She placed the finger on the desk.

Mayor Walker looked like he was trying not to gag.

"That blue sheen is a telltale sign of nightshade poisoning," Morticia said, stepping forward.

October added, "But you already knew that, didn't you?"ย

"You were in charge of the case when you were the sheriff, so you covered it up," Wednesday said.

Mayor Walker was silent for a few moments before saying, "Ansel Gates hated outcasts and Nevermore. He claimed the land the school was built on was stolen from his family over two hundred years ago. Garrett went there that night to spike the punch and kill all the kids at that dance. Ansel confessed the whole thing to me in a drunken stupor. It was his idea."

October asked, "So, why did you have Dr. Anwar falsify the autopsy report?"

"You knew the truth about how he really died," Wednesday accused.

"Listen my job was to keep the peace," Mayor Walker said.

October asked, "Peace? You were willing to let an innocent man go to jail for a crime he didn't even commit. How is that peace?"

"If there was a trial, both Jericho's and Nevermore's reputations would have been trashed," Mayor Walker stated, trying to avoid looking at the three facial and neck scars on October's face, and the dried nose blood

"How would Nevermore's reputation be trashed if word got out that a normie tried to poison the whole school?" October said, "If anything, Jericho's reputation would've been trashed because a mass murderer lived there."

"I think the only reputation you were worried about ruining was your own," Morticia cut in. Mayor Walker looked at her, eyebrows furrowed. "I remember Garrett bragging to me that his father had the sheriff in his pocket. One year later, you get elected mayor. Hmm. No doubt with the full support of Ansel Gates."

October tilted his head to the side as he looked at Mayor Walker. Suspicious, suspicious.

"I resent your implication," Mayor Walker told Morticia.

Morticia looked at Mayor Walker, "What I resent is that you could have prevented Garrett's death if you had done your job when I lodged my complaint about him stalking me. But no. Men like you have no idea what it feels like not to be believed."

Mayor Walker looked like he wanted to say something, but didn't. He looked at Morticia before finally asking, "What do you want?"

Morticia looked at Wednesday and October who looked at her. Morticia put one hand on her hip before looking at Mayor Walker, "All charges dropped."

"Our father will be released immediately with a full and unequivocal apology from the sheriff's office," Wednesday added in quickly.

Mayor Walker pursed his lips together and October asked, "Do we have a deal, Mayor?"

The mayor agreed to the deal and rang up the sheriff to get the charges dropped, before the trio left the office.

October took the time to go to the restroom to wash the dried blood off his face since he didn't have time to do so while they were in the slammer or when they got out since they hurried down to the mayor's office.

"You're a Raven," Morticia was telling Wednesday when October finally left the building. "Your visions are more potent, more powerful. But without the proper training, they can lead to madness. If I could help you, I would, Wednesday. But we're not trained by the living. Somebody from our bloodline reaches out from beyond to help us when we're ready."

"Goody has," Wednesday told Morticia. "October and I have seen her before."

Morticia looked at October, "You have seen her?"

"Once," October said. "I touched the burnt meeting hall and we got pulled into a memory. Or vision of the past." He shrugged, "I don't think I was meant to see it."

"Or maybe you were, because of your psychometry," Morticia said.

"I was in the memory with him," Wednesday said. "I grabbed his shoulder to push him out of my way, but I got dragged in the memory."

"Sometimes twins, one who has psychic abilities and one with psychometry can get dragged into visions of the past," Morticia stated. "It has something to do with psychic energy colliding. Eventually you'll learn how to block it off." Morticia looked at Wednesday to speak to her.

Lurch had pulled up to the curb with Pugsley was in it. Lurch also took two car spaces.

And all they had to do was wait for Gomez to get out.

October sat on the curb with Pugsley, "So, how did your evening go?"

"Your roommate is a stoner," Pugsley told him.

"I know," October said. "He stoned himself in the bathroom once."

Pugsley shook his head at that, "That explains a lot."

The town hall door opened and Gomez was emerging with the sheriff. The two spoke for a few moments before shaking hands. Gomez started walking down the walkway and Pugsley shoved October out of the way, "Dad!" He ran over to hug Gomez.

October went to him, as they started to get in a group.

"Don't crowd me," Wednesday told October as he went to hug Gomez.

"I thought you were going to be gone for a few hours, not overnight," Ajax told October as he got back to the dorm room.

"Got arrested," October told him, "Spent the night in the slammer.

"And you have blood on your face," Ajax pointed out. "Is that going to be a thing now when you return with blood on your face?"

October asked, "Would you prefer if it was someone else's blood?"

"That would be worse," Ajax admitted.

October nodded and went to take a shower, before he meet his parents to continue the Parents' Weekend.

After getting in the uniform and leaving to head to the driveway to see his parents leave, Enid intercepted him, smiling widely, "I told my mom that I'm not going to Camp Howl. And that I'll wolf out on my own timeline, not hers. My dad understood."

"That's good. Wednesday got our dad cleared of charges. Gates was dying of nightshade poisoning. His dad wanted to kill the entire school," October told her. "I'm going to see them go."

Enid let him go.

Pugsley was hugging Wednesday.

Gomez asked October, "How come you're wearing the ring I gave you?"

"I decided to date myself because I'm cursed," October said. "That's all I need. And I think I'm going to be okay being single." He shrugged. He was sure that he'll be fine with being single. He can picture himself with Enid and her future wife together. He'll be that weird uncle to Enid and her wife's adopted kids, and he'll live in their basement. Single, but not alone.

"Don't push it," Wednesday said to Pugsley, who let go of her and went away.

October went to Pugsley. "Bye, Pugsley."

"Bye," Pugsley said. He hugged October, who awkwardly hugged him back. "I knew Wednesday can prove Dad's innocence."

"Yeah," October replied.

"And don't forget to kick the monster's ass for me," Pugsley told him.

"Yeah," October replied, "If Wednesday doesn't kill it first. Now get off of me."

Pugsley let him go.

After more goodbyes, the other three left and Wednesday started looking through the yearbook that Morticia handed Wednesday.

October stopped on a picture, "That's Judy Garland." He liked the Wizard of Oz because he thought Dorothy was a badass. Dorothy inadvertently killed a witch, stole from the corpse, and killed another witch. Plus, Dorothy was a babe. Well, Glenda was too, for setting Dorothy out to kill someone.

Wednesday looked at October, "I need to speak to Weems. Come with me or stay behind."

October followed after her.

Wednesday pushed the door open to Weems's office, "I knew it. I did witness Rowan getting murder that night."

Weems stated, "Excuse me?"

"When Rowan appeared the next morning, it was you," Wednesday explained. "You see, when you participated in the talent show with our mother, not only did you impersonate Judy Garland, you became her. You're a shape-shifter."

"That explains how Rowan knew my name when I didn't even know him," October stated. "And that explains why you were standing next to Detective Santiago when you were coming up the stairs in the memories when I used my psychometry. It just hit me when she mentioned you becoming Judy Garland. I didn't even think about it 'til now."

"That's a fascinating theory," Weems said.

"The psyschometry memories don't lie," October said. "It looked like Rowan coming up those stairs but in the memories you were coming up the steps."

"And I'm curious to find out how Sheriff Galpin feels when we tell him," Wednesday said.

That is, if Sheriff Galpin would believe them.

Weems got out of her chair to lean over the desk to say, "You won't tell a soul, Addams. And it wouldn't matter much if you did. Rowan's father already knows what happened and he fully supports my decision not to involve the authorities."

Wait 'til Xavier hears about that.

Wednesday asked, "Why would he agree to that?"

"Because Rowan was not in his right mind," Weems explained. "His telekinetic abilities were driving him mad and he attempted to murder you twice. His tragic death allowed us to rectify the situation without casting the school or Rowan in an unflattering light."

That made sense.

Wednesday asked, "You and Mayor Walker are the same, aren't you? Burying bodies to cover your dirty secrets."

"I did what I needed to do to shield this school from controversy and protect its students from harm," Weems stated.

"Tell that to Eugene and my brother," Wednesday replied. "How are you protecting them?"

Weems stayed silent until it sounded like there was yelling from outside.

October looked at Weems and Wednesday confused, before they moved to the balcony.

When October and Wednesday got to the balcony, Weems was saying, "What on earth?"

And October finally saw why.

FIRE WILL RAIN was on flames on the ground.

And October had the weird feeling that Thornhill had something to do with it.

As much as I like Lurch, I just don't think he would be good company for Pugsley to have. I mean sure, Lurch can watch over him and stuff. And sure Pugsley could be on his own, but I don't like the idea that they left Pugsley on his own in a hotel room, even if it's for a few hours with Lurch. Besides, I like the idea of Ajax and Pugsley tormenting the guys in the dorm building, by blaring obnoxious music and causing a bunch of noise by running up and down the halls.
