Backstory :

PAST ARC — Long before she was known as the queen of the netherworld , she was a quiet maiden who would recite stories to townsfolk who were passing by. She wasn't anything special , at least , that's what she thought of herself.

She couldn't find love , no matter how hard she tried. Although , she couldn't help it , she was envious of the other women around her. They had happier , more fulfilling lives , and here she was speaking of fairytales and the hope of a " happily ever after "

Her boring life would take a drastic change when one day , a man named Cyphus had come to hear her stories. He was a beautiful man , a magician that would enchant her with his tricks and songs. She fell deeply in love with this man , feeling her soul ache for him.

She learned that this man was a demon , and begged him to take her away from this boring life. He opened the portal to the demonic Netherworld , introducing her to their society. Her body was just a meal to these demons , the endless nights she had with them forever changing her perception of love.

Hours turned into days , and days turned into months , and before you knew it , she had forgotten who she was. She couldn't remember what life was like before she lived in the Netherworld , and as she had lived there for centuries , her humanly form morphed into something demonic. Wings sprouted from her back , and horns were tangled in her hair. Her eyes became pink , and her body gave away that she was a succubus.

The man she had loved had been killed by the villagers that were searching for her , and in a fit of rage , she returned to earth and announced herself as the queen of the Netherworld. She destroyed that village , and decided to burn away the memories of her love , accepting the lustful addiction she was stuck in.

PRESENT ARC —

In a tragic fit of irony , she was back to living a boring loveless life , only this time , she wasn't human. She closed herself off to love , and gave into meaningless situationships. She had grown tired of everything , and would visit Lumen to try to clear her head. Much to her surprise , she found a damaged android , who was sound asleep. She fought her better judgment , and would use magic to fix them up.

The android called themselves Saint Rebenna , and the demon felt a thump in their heart. This cold , unfeeling body of metal was beautiful. The craziest thing of all was that she was feeling wasn't lust.

It was genuine love.

Trivia :

— Her backstory was the hardest one to come up with out of all the other personas. I had MANY different concepts for her but none of them interested me. I'm still not satisfied with her backstory , but until I can come up with one , it'll remain simple. Just know that the main theme of Demon Maia is my difficult opinion on my own hypersexuality. For me , I have bullied numerous times with the stupid " my friend thinks that you're cute " or " Sorry , my friend dared me to ask you out "

— Demon Maia before she met Rebenna was a HOT MESS. After she was turned into a demon , she had no respect for human life. To quote the Heathers musical " She was a mythic bitch "

Now that I'm a highschooler , I changed her inspo to the fandom's modern rewrite of him since I hated the problematic stuff that existed in the AU.

— When Demon first met Gamer Michelle , she found her a bit much to handle. Over time , she grew a close connection with Michelle. Demon is well aware of Michelle's villainous intentions , but goes along with them like a parent would when their kid plays pretend.
