Phillip Lester is a happy go lucky teenager, he's very positive, he has decent grades and is known by everyone. He has an ideal life with an older brother, a caring mother, and a good father. His parents are married and have been for almost 20 years. He is always seen wearing bright and colorful things.

Daniel Howell is a depressed teenager, he's a big realist, he has failing grades, and is a bully. He has a horrible life with a younger sibling that he has to protect from their mother who is a drug addict and alcoholic that abuses him any way possible, and his father disappeared out of their lives after his parents got divorced when he was merely two years old. He is always seen wearing black and dark things. The only person who does not abuse him in his family is his grandmother and sibling

Biographies

Dan Howell

Howell was born in Wokingham, Berkshire and raised in Winnersh. He has a younger brother and has a close relationship with his grandmother.

Before starting his YouTube channel, he worked for retail chain Focus DIY at the age of 16, and later at the supermarket Asda. After graduating from The Forest School in 2009, Howell took a gap year, during which he started posting videos to his channel as a hobby. He then went to the University of Manchester in 2010 to study law, but dropped out in 2011 because of a lack of interest in the subject, instead going on to pursue radio presenting and video blogging as a full-time profession.

Phil Lester

Lester was born and raised in Rawtenstall. He has an older brother, Martyn, who now co-owns IRL Digital, a company that designs and sells the merchandise of various YouTubers, with Phil as well as Daniel Howell

Before he made video blogging and radio presenting his full-time profession, Lester worked as a dog walker, as a car washer, did work experience at a veterinary clinic, worked at WHSmith, and played Tim in Faintheart. He and Martyn attended Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Language and Linguistics in 2008 and a Master of Arts in Video Postproduction with Visual Effects in 2009, both from the University of York.
