Chapter 18. Where Goddess Appears To End Things...
"Will be okay in using this?" Analyn asked Althea, once everyone had left.
"I've to be okay. You know that there's no other option, right?" Althea tried to reassure her.
-----------------------------------------
Alon and Analyn proved why they were worthy of being the original leads. They successfully found Chesa who herself had regressed few months ago. She was utterly confused with everything going around her but, they tried their level best to help her in grasping things. Chesa was a quick learner as well. Together, they went ahead to help with the case of Jaslene. There, they got to know what was actually wrong.
Jaslene' mother was human and father was a mermaid/water spirit. Obviously, their union was considered a tabo and almost impossible. But, they wanted each other's love without the boundaries of realms. Thus, they left mermaid clan and started living separately. Her mother couldn't conceive so, she prayed to God and obtained a blessed relic which would fuse their powers and act as an incubator for their child. They fused their powers and Jaslene was born. She was neither a true mermaid nor, a human. She was a hybrid. Someone who looked like a human but, could convert herself as a water spirit on her wish.
For obvious reasons, the mermaid community feared her powers so, they tried killing everyone but, couldn't be successful, due to the blessings of relic. At the end, Jaslene' aunt trapped her parents. If killing wasn't an option, trapping them was the best alternative. It'd insure Jaslene' leash in their hand as well.
In truth, the aunt liked Althea' father but, she was afraid of realm boundaries so, she never told him. For him, she didn't even exist. Later, he married Althea' mother and Althea came into this world. This angered her due to her jealousy. She knew Analyn as someone very precious to Althea. She also had an idea of Alon' closeness with the two, more with Analyn. She thought if she made Althea take him away from Analyn on Jaslene' say. She'd naturally destroy the Dalisay household as well as Jaslene. This way, everyone from her enemy's side will be crushed.
One of the most cliche character sketching by the author...
Alon and Analyn didn't really had an idea on how to approach things so, they did the most basic thing they could do. They told her the truth. Every detail of what they knew of... Jaslene also felt her memories and emotions dispersed so, it was easy to believe them rather than finding her own answers.
To help Jaslene, they decided to overthrow her aunt from the ruler's seat. It wasn't easy but, it wasn't nearly impossible as the other water spirits didn't want to fight in such an unnecessary battle. They mostly wanted to advocate eliminating war and maintaining harmony. For them, while war destroyed and disrupted, peace could build and strengthen as well as restore things. Moreover, their peace would be personal which would help them to achieve security and tranquillity and avoid anxiety and chaos to make their lives better.
It took them nearly half month to solve things in the water realm. Jaslene was now, happily crowned as the emperor of water realm. Her parents were together with her and her aunt... Well, she was captivated.
Alab and Chesa met as well. It was an emotional sight to witness though much words weren't said. Everything was slowly forming in order. Now, they needed to take care of Lilith. Chesa asked Alon for a chance to meet Trisha, goddess Sappia, of this world. He agreed and arranged a way for them to meet. Trisha suggested to lock away Althea' memories and recreate the scene where she very first met Lilith. She even, gave her a relic for that.
The relic had two parts. A bead and an amulet. They were going to use the bead to seal away Althea' memories. Analyn would be the in charge of taking care of it. Whereas, Althea would carry the amulet which would act as a passageway for Trisha.
-------------------------------------
Everyone worried that she'll forget every single thing. And, that's what happened. Even who she was. She didn't even remember her own name, everyone had become just a familiar face to her or she didn't even seem to recognize herself anymore, whenever she saw her image in the mirror.
It was way too difficult to watch the cognitive decline in her. And when that decline seemed to directly affect their relationship with her in this way, it felt even worse. Those days were very tough.
------------------------------------------
Then, the day came. The inspection day. Althea left with Alab and Melchor. The monster appeared, just like before and, Melchor defeated it, just as before. The glowing red engulfed Althea again and she was summoned before Lilith.
"Why are you bent on disrupting my world?"
"Wor..." Althea tried mimicking the words but, she wasn't able to. Her memory loss was this severe.
"Huh..." Puzzled, Lilith looked at her. A bright light was emitting near her heart. Lilith tried to process what was happening but, her train of thoughts got interrupted when Sappia appeared in front of her.
"Your world? These are my children and this is their world. They'll live, however, they want to." Sappia' figure was in its true form and this made Lilith scared.
"How...?" Lilith' mouth went dry with fear.
"Does it matter? What matters is the truth that you won't interfere with my children anymore. I knew someone was disrupting my children' lives but from where? I didn't know as I don't have my previous powers anymore. But, that doesn't mean I'm powerless. Remember this. Take things with caution or..." Sappia' words were absolute. It was, after all, a well known fact that she loved her children more than anything.

Just one more chapter to go and this will be finished. It's kind of rushed and messy, I know this fact very well. Still, I tried my best with this. Thank you everyone who read this so far and gave this book a chance.
